Wow! Great render! As a darker guy, he looks stunningly good! Btw, the historical Assassins lived in what is now Syria and fought against the blond-blue-eyed, fair-skinned Crusaders.... ;-)
So I went ahead to see if any of the HD Details Morphs I had would look good on Assassin (since I don't have his HD add-on). I thought I'd shared the renders of the HDs that looked good on him in case someone else found it useful. Personal preference:
No HD below for comparison:
Since I was wondering the same thing, I bought the dforce Assassin Armor to check out the components under the armor. I expected the tunic to have dforce settings, but it doesn't, and neither does the hood. Only the cape comes with dforce settings (but it has dials too). I think it has a good amount of components to kitbash, so I'm really happy with this one.
And since I also got the Sabian Outfit, I also did a couple of renders of the components without the coat:
@FenixPhoenix thanks so much for posting all the different HD mixes you've done as well as the renders of the outfit! I snagged the mega bundle but I always like to see what other options look like just to change things up. The one I liked best was the Brute, Darius, and his veins. I'll say I'm disappointed to hear the hood doesn't have dForce already set up for it, but that's not too hard to add.
@benniewoodell, you're welcome! I'm glad those are useful. Indeed, I was very surprised at how well the Brute HD looks like on him. Dark Guard's HD details also look good when dialed to 60% or so.
Regarding the outfits, I added dforce to the tunic of the assassin outfit (using one of the shirt simulations presets from dforce master presets pack) and ran it. I think I'll be using the tunic with dforce since it looks really good.
FenixPhoenix, thank you for the outfit breakdowns. I did eventually break down and get the bundle. I also like the Sabian outfit.
@GlenWebb, my pleasure!
Thanks, @FenixPhoenix, for the excellent promos! Too bad you can't get a commission on Sabian Outfit, which I just bought because of you.
@xyer0, my pleasure. I really can't fathom why someone who would go to great lengths to design a lovely outfit, would not show all the pieces in promos! Especially since there might be a significant number of people who do kitbash and would find the information relevant when deciding whether to purchase it or not.
@FenixPhoenix ikr? But from what I've heard, clothing creation can be so labor intensive that by the time the creator gets to the promos, they just want to be done with it, although that format looks like Daz's more recently adopted barebones promos, which, besides depriving joelegecko of revenue, leave most things to our imaginations. I also wanted to know how the pants legs bottoms looked without the boots. I'll have to load them up to see. Thanks again!
Particularly since, these days, you can't count on not seeing the whole outfit broken out into component pieces thrown into a "breakout release" a couple of weeks later.
Richard, you must have been passionate when you typed this because you have a few typos...lol x 1000. Just teasing lightly. :)
While I agree that clothing creation takes a long time, it's precisely because of that that promos should show more of the outfit (more so when it's as detailed as the assassin outfit!). It doesn't even have to be complex promos, the ones I did take me so little time/effort, after all. But then I sometimes go overboard with the number of promos/renders for our own products, so I might be on the opposite extreme of the scale.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of how the promos are handled when the outfit is split. Even if there are just the boots that are being sold, I'd still like to see at least the boots worn on a clay figure just to better gauge how they would look for kitbashing (like in the third promo for this: https://www.daz3d.com/kings-magister-boots-for-genesis-8-and-81-males). When I just see them isolated, that's a bit harder to do.
Yeah, but you've always been different, am I right?
Here's my first render of him:
Thanks for the hi-def render, Silas3D. I can really see what a fine character he is there. The clarity of your image lets me know that the hair and beard are not for me.
