@Mada the Naval Officer Jacket is using the wrong UDIM texture set for the button textures. It is using set 2, when it should be using set 1.
It looks like this:
It should look like this:
I didn't set up the textures for this set - can you put a ticket in? Thanks :)
Request #438349 submitted.
And I updated it to add that the pants load with no texture on the buttons.
Thank you :)
Here is my G9 (Casey) in his Naval Uniform. I sure had to recreate a lot of rigid follow nodes! I don't know how to create extra bones in the jacket tails, so I did not recreate that. Is there a tutorial about that subject?
I likely used the process in this video, adding control bones... the video should start from where I describe the process :)

Thanks for the link (and right to the exact spot)! I was able to follow the instructions and created the Handle control bones. I am still missing a piece of the puzzle. How do I keep the tails of the jacket from following the leg movements of G9? On the G8 version of the jacket, the tails still hang down when G8 legs are bent, etc.
I'll have to open the files to check - I don't do it often enough to remember without looking at it :) If I remember correctly its renaming the bones in the jacket... if you check the bone names in the G8 version they should be different from the Genesis figure
I might not be looking in the right place. I created the handle bones on the G9 version and compared the V9 version bones to the V8 version, but I can't see what is different.
Oh, I think this is what your mean about bone names being different. I need to look at my G9 version now and compare.
Opps - I was looking at the wrong G9 jacket version. I'll try again....
OK, this is the G9 jacket version with the handles. Bone names in the jacket look different than the bone names in G9. Or are these labels and the names are someplace else?
I'll load it up this morning and see if I remember - I don't do that kind of setup often and usually on the fly :)
OK now that I loaded it up I think we're talking about different things. On my copy the tails follow the legs when I move them. However I can click on them to adjust which is what I think you're after :)
To do that you have to select a handle on the jacket, activate the joint editor tool, and under tool settings select a bone to match it. That will make the bone clickable in the viewport. Now you can adjust so that it hangs straight down.
I am a little lost now. RE: 'You have to click a handle on the jacket.' Was the garment created with additional handles?
yes you have to read a couple of posts up :) Barbult asked how to add the handles.
Well, this is embarrassing. I tried the G8 version again and it did stick to his legs. I was sure it didn't stick the other day. I wonder if maybe I didn't have the jacket fit to G8 at the time. It still would have looked like it was on his body and dForce would still have worked. So, I guess my G9 conversion does work like the G8 version after all. I hope I didn't waste too much of your time!!!! Thank you for checking the G8 version and setting me straight, yet again. You are a great help!
Oh, yes, and with the handles, I can bend the tails back down straight.
No worries :D
Thank you.
This maybe a stupid question to ask, and I'm sure there is a thread in the forums that address this, how well does G8 clothing and footwear work on G9? Yes I'm being lazy and curious.
I use them all the time. The clothes sometimes look a bit "holey" but you can always add a push modifier to cover them up.
Mada I don't know if you consider this in the same category as clothes. I recently started learning Blender and made some chain necklaces, also working on some tags and such to go on these necklaces. One problem I do have and can't find tutorials about is how to rig a chain necklace, or how to dforce it. I tried dforcing already and, at first it kept exploding till I figured out how to stop that, only to later have the chain slip off the model.
I'm not positive, but I could have sworn in a case like mine, it's not necessary to have a bone for every link in the chain, but that's all I know and it's very old information.
flippin duplicates lol
Dforcing a chain necklace with actual links would be a lot of work to set up, not something I would attempt because of the time needed - but the rigging would be the same as for a conforming item.
Is this for Genesis 9? If it is then I would use the transfer utility with the tight bodysuit template. I assume you want to chain to fall away from the body when posing - for that I either add morphs, or an extra bone to swing it out from the chest. You won't get the draping effect though.
For the chain slipping off the model during dforce- you can choose a chain link right at the back of the neck and add a dforce weightmap set to a low value - that will keep it in that area and stop it from slipping off. If you're using smoothing set the collision iterations to zero - that will prevent links pushing into itself where they collide with genesis but still give you the smoothing effect.
The best results I got with dforce was to have it all as one tube, and add a morph to turn the shape into beads - and a dynamic surface add on to keep the beads from distorting too much. Because its all one piece I don't have to worry about it seperating during a sim.

Hope I post this right, really wish they would fix the image problem for the forums.
These were modeled and made to fit G8M, tho if I do them correctly they should fit any model. I've seen enough video's, including yours, to try dforce and use the information you just provided for that.
I"ve never tried rigging, but I do have a collection of video's on how to do it, including Sickleyields and your playlist to help me. Right now I know nothing about adding smoothing or morphs. Karth over on Sade's discord posted a link to your rigid follow nodes video I can check.
I've included an image of what the links look like, that might give you a better idea of what I want to do and just in case it doens't show up using the add image button, here's the link.
