Whose characters for G9 you're expecting?

Correct, I have enough characters to populate a scene. I need morph resources and nice skin shaders and materials.

An artists at the HUB has already made a very very stunning one. But it is $65 so I wait for something cheaper (even if the product offers G9 tweak at core, this price is not for me).

I think I'm going to have to be choosy about the things I buy since genesis 9 is likely to have double the morph problems with load times as gen 8 due to being unisex . So I'm not going to buy all figures on release like before or it's going to be super slow using them

I will stick to favorites such as Soto, Changeling Chick and others.

Soto released this recently: Side Spikes Hair for Genesis 3, 8, 8.1, and 9 | Daz 3D

    Mousso's magnificent models!

Yeah, some of their textures have the glute crease/contoured breast on the textures, but those are relatively easily remedied well enough, but their sculpting prowess is without question and more than makes up for it!

I'm looking forward to seeing what iSource and Bluejuante will vahe for us. I'm also hoping for a cute Thorne character. But I'll probably be very carful about what I get until someone addresses the noodle bends with G9.

Sorry but this is my real curiuosity. I've bought a lot of Mousso's works so I'm not against him. But I wonder why there are so many fans of him here. Most of his works (along with collaboration with DAZ) are almost exactly the same. I like that pubic hairs are there from time to time. But may I ask WHAT REALLY MAKES YOU BECOME ONE OF HIS FANS. I won't compare to any other artists. Just want to know absolute facts. Thank you for your explanation. (one thing makes me curious is that I've seen from time to time that some of us complain about the same base character he uses. Just adaptive. Root is the same)

As I've said earlier, it's their sculpts that gain high praise, at least for me anyway. BTW, opinions aren't facts and art is extremely subjective, (I mean look at nfts :P) so it relies more on opinion than facts…

His G1 jeans and tennis shoes I use on every generation. And that G2 sci-fi outfit is the best.

I'm not too harsh. I think most artists have a recognizeable "style" for those familiar with their work.

I used to work for a doll magazine and one of my favorite artists was a german lady named Hildegard Gunzel. BEAUTIFUL dolls, but they all had similar, recognizeable faces. It wasn't until I saw a picture of Hildegard that I realized....a LOT of her dolls resembled her own face...lol. It makes sense, after all - whose face is more readily available or more familiar than your own? Maybe Mousso (if female) tends to unconsciously make characters that resembles herself or, if male, knows and/or loves someone that has a similar face to their characters. It's hard to say. :) As it is, I can recognize most character artists work at a glance, like Saiyanness, Raiya, Mousso, Matari3D, etc.

  • Mousso models only look similar if you look at them in isolation. If you place them one next to another, they don't. They are different in face and body proportions. Skins are detailed, faces are detailed. They are pretty, but the way real living people are pretty - if you give them suitable clothes and makeup, they look lire glamour models. If you don't - they look like young pretty people next door.

Majority of them look like they are of similar age, though. Also have similar makeup style.

    Like Milla Millowitch iterations.
Reminding me of Status Quo songs, with maybe an "In The Army Now" - character in his repertoria.

Thank you guys who enlighten me about the point of view toward Mousso's works. Actually I have not many chances to try rendering his characters enough (like you guys who have several thousands character not touched yet). And I understand that textures are more important to shape because we can change shapes easily while it's hard to make good textures by ourselves. Most of the time I "borrow" parts of Mousso's characters to apply to another so I think I know what you guys mention about his fine art. I'm kind of appreciate creativity of Bluejaunte and Vootw. They seem to be bored of their own creations and try something new all the time. Actually my favorite character of all time is Ruo Xi by Crocodile Liu. I appreciate Kim Seohyun by Heryun for the idea that beautiful skin should come with its dedicated settings of light and render. It's exciting to see what's next from them when we're in era of 9!

I just want to be positively surprised, so no expectations.

I have enough the previous generations characters to play with, so I can wait.

Would be only good to get official Daz morph packs for Genesis 9, at some point...

Still it's building figures - mostly - by the same concept. Yes, skin colour and some anatomical details are different, but they nearly all fit into the same "pretty mid-20s girl from the title page of a fashion magazine". The one's that don't are great on the other hand. And their "celebrity" figures. And their males.

The large amount of kinda-look-a-like-ish is not limited to Mousso, though, but for me there are about 80% of PAs that produce figures using the same pattern. Which leads to me mostly buying figures made by the other 20% wink

Both Bluejaunte and Vootw have released their new products for 9. I'm disappointed that DAZ let them show mere new works not show off their best ones. I will wait.

  • Oso3D, RawArt, JoeQuick, Josh Crockett. I have more than enough humans for 8/8.1 so 9 will be for beasts for me.

  • Isource Textures' characters of course, for those are the best skin shaders.

  • any that have lots of skin details

This. Non-stylistic Core Figures, bluejaunte, Saiyaness, & Kooki99 are my hard limits. Perhaps Raiya will return to her glory now since V9 is so young & pretty.

The Brute 9, now that would be cool as that's my still my favorite of the realistic G8 characters.

Also waiting for Brute 9.  I need a Savior or Villan for my Damsels iin Distress

  • I am eagerly hoping for 'Maine Coon Generation Purr'

As for particular G9 characters, hmm. At the prices I'm seeing as a non-Daz+ person, I am not actually looking forward to any.

I am willing to spend on one I find I like. V9 met that requirement, but the purchase was facilitated by a good degree of curiosity. As for a re-incarnation of an earlier character.. No, I don't think so. I have all the older characters I need and a few I wanted. Why would I buy them again? The old ones still work. It' seems to me to be a bit like buying music on Vinyl, then on cassette, again on CD and finally in mp3 format, getting diminishing returns with each jump (as an aside I actually find mp3 much more difficult & inconvenient to play than a cassette, due to availability, operations needed to get to the music and overall system complexity of mp3 players compared to cassette players, but that's by-the-by). If/when I get G9 characters, I doubt they'll be updates of earlier generation characters.

    Regards,

    Richard.

    I'm waiting for Sayianness' characters.

  • This one is for RawArt, you created Innis for G8M. PLEASE, OH PLEASE for all that is mighty Dagon, create something similar for G9

I am making my own morphs and mainly buy characters when I like the texture.

I am hoping for more Stylized Characters, which are always fun.

I'm in! I only buy models for skin details any more. Each day since Genesis 9 was launched I have checked the store, hoping someone released a model with a prominent mole, or moles, on the neck or upper chest, but so far no luck. It is true that many of the models from the PAs look similar from a sculpting perspective. I ignore that and buy for detailed skin. Not everyone goes for reality but that's my goal, so I'm not interested in perfect skin.
