Got it.  Easy enough to figure that out.  I almost used that for my Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet, but I got the other installed instead, with help of a dev library for the Fire.

I was able to get through using my laptop, so I left a PM link to an article there... apparently it wasn't doing the log out loop using Mac OS...

But it's now doing log out loops when I go to other DAZ forums or use the back button.

    Yay.

It was going absolutely bonkers with the log out looping the other day using FireFox when I was trying to upload a picture from my iPad.

Cheap Bastard Tip: Recycle used paper towels...

Rinsing and reusing paper towels might seem off putting because if a guest sees a stack of stained paper towels, they'll think you are crazy cheap.

But if you soak the paper towels in a container with used coffee grinds they'll turn brown and you can tell people they are unbleached "natural fiber" paper towels that cost six times more and are used by environmentally conscious celebrities... The coffee brown color hides most brownish stains and you can tell guests the others are natural fibers or bark chips or some other crap like that..

Bonus points if you make up a name for the company... try something with "enlightened" or "bespoke" in it.

Not only are you being a good human and saving trees and the many water buffaloes that make their nests in them, you save money, which is more important that some smelly arboreal swamp cows, plus you appear to be a trend setting hippster who probably rescues and rehabilitates displaced water buffaloes.

Complaint:  Arghhh...crying  OK, so my complaint about no bus stop bench, apparently worked.  There is now a bench on the corner near the grocery store, where the once-a-day bus leaves for uptown.  Yay!yes  So, I waited for a day of half-decent weather, gathered my month of laundry into my laundry cart, toddled on up to the bus stop, and arrived, by my watch, at 7:50, early by 20 minutes for the 8:10AM listed schedule.  I sat in the 38F(3C) weather, shivering for 40 minutes and no bus came.  I watched all the time.  (*sigh*).  So, I wandered into the grocery store, did a little shopping, and toddled my fuming self back home where I collapsed for 30 minutes after the exhausting 1/2 mile(round trip) journey(I'm gettin' old)sad  Still fuming, I called the bus headquarters and asked what happened to the bus.  I was told that the bus arrived at my bus stop at 7:52.  Somebody's clock is wrong!  I saw no bus and I was sitting on the only bench in that area clearly visible from any direction that the bus might approach.  I asked why the bus was nearly 20 minutes early.  The answer was a simple "It's just an estimate."  Arghhh... angry  I could have screamed into the phone but held my composure and voice, I figured if they had 20 minutes of slack time in their schedule then they wouldn't mind a small diversion.  So I turned on the feble old man schtick and made arrangements to have the bus come directly to my house next time.  Mwa, ha, ha... (I like this game)devil  Weather is bad tomorrow and through the weekend so I have to wait until monday, when the weather will be decent again.  Oh, what has become of me when laundry is an exciting event?surprise

I take the bus to uptown(~$2), but take an UBER (~$20) back.  Yeah, expensive laundry!frown  But I also get to the drugstore and a proper grocery store, and a liquor store, and Burger King all within a block of the laundry.  And I can stop at the bank (4 blocks away) on the way back in the UBER.  What more does a feble old man need?indecision

Hmmm..., $22 per month for travel expenses.   No car.  So, no car payment.  No monthly insurance payment, no gasoline to buy, no repair costs, nobody asks me for a ride.  Wheee..., I win.yes  Except for the fact that I am a hermit the rest of the time.indecision

Buses... I remember using them back in the 70's, but during the last thirty years the only buses we have seen, are the ones taking the kids to school in the morning and back home after school.
Bus stops I have seen plenty (in the DAZ store laugh)

Ah, buses... I hate buses... and subways... but I do advocate for them... it's a personal thing about hating them because I grew up in NYC and there was never a thing like a reliable form of public transportation at the time... buses were awful because they got caught in traffic always, so who knew when it would show up or arrive at the destination or if it would even stop where it was supposed to... subways, well... primarily because of the pee and C.H.U.D.s (the late 70s and 80s were before the C.H.U.D. Accords of 1992, so it was a difficult time C.H.U.D.-wise), plus they were always catching on fire... no joke, until they replaced the wooden ties (sleepers) with concrete ones, you'd have track fires all the time... mostly because of all the trash on the tracks and the fact that more people smoked backed then and at least 60% of the rats were pyromaniacs, it was common and always when you were heading somewhere important... by the time I was 14, I usually rode my bike if it wasn't horrible weather or over five miles each way... if it was good weather, like in the summer, then 90% of the time I'd take my bike regardless of the distance... 15 miles was nothing.
Until I moved out of the city in the late 90s I still rode my bike 3 mikes to work (and carried it six floors up) as opposed to using my car (and losing the damn parking space) or taking any public transportation.

On the other hand, I've taken buses, trolleys (or whatever a rail bus is called now) and trains in all sorts of cities and they are usually nowhere near as terrible as NYC's PT... (and now it's a lot better... except for the pee)... usually the smaller the city the better the buses and trains... I remember riding a bus in Ontario in the 80s and realizing the seats were cushioned and thinking "but how do you clean the pee off... oh... I guess that's not customary..."

Nope, no traffic tie ups here or in the nearest city, or in this whole county.  Other than during blizzards, the only time traffic in the city(Jamestown, NY) gets tied up is during Lucy-Desi Days in August.  And that's just a rerouting of traffic around 6 blocks of the center of the city, when both tourists are in town at the same time.wink

Okay, I really HAVE to ask this now, can't keep it in any longer: Whyever don't you buy a washing machine??? A used one maybe, if money's an issue? These trips sure make fun reading for the forum, but man ... Why in the world are you putting yourself through this hassle, just for the laundry?

    @ tsroemi   Easy:

    1)  No room.  Literally, no place I could fit even a stacked 110v system.surprise

    2) Would require 220v electrical wiring (I'll never settle for a 110v system again)no

    3) Would require new plumbing ($$$)no

    4) Electricity costs my landlord(not me) money.  He's already hinting that it's costing too much because of the heaters I have to use sometimes(it's a long story..., furnace issues).frown

    5) My rent is very very reasonable but the agreement is fragile. I'm not going to threaten that in any way.indecision

    6) I like going places.  I get out and verify that there actually is an "out".  Then I return to my man cave, and think deep thoughts communing with my brother wizards in the clouds.cool

    7) I like doing laundry.  I like my laundry done my way, by me.  Laundry is an enjoyably comfortable day's mini-adventure for me.  And doing laundry is, for me, like doing dishes.  Necessary, and mechanical, but the result, and making it efficient is satisfying.  Yeah, I've even had dishwashersheart in the past, but now, living alone, my few dishes are never a bother to wash by hand, and while doing dishes I get to stare out my kitchen window, watching the fuzzy groundhogs and bunnies and neighbors(we try not to stare at the neighbors.  Besides, they're not really that fuzzy).  And while doing laundry at the laundromat I space out with my phone playing classical music into my earbuds.smiley

    8)  I get another tale to tell.yes

    9)  I'm happy the way things are.  Despite the miniscule fixed income of Social Security, my life is actually pretty good.  I've managed to arrange things to work for me if I don't expect too much.  I work with what I have.  Yeah, yeah, I'm a grumpy old man, but at least I'm still able to recognize that.yes

Put this way, it sounds like fun even. But it does make me mad to hear of anyone having to live under such volatile circumstances, especially being a little on the olden side. In such rich countries as ours are ... It's a shame, that's what it is. Although you certainly seem to make the best of it! Thanks for your answer, and for your little adventure stories. I'll continue to enjoy them for sure.

...yeah the apartment I am in has a dishwasher and aI use it to store plates cups and my storage containers in as like LeatherGryphon, I don't use enough dishes per day to warrant running it.  I also don't have very much in the way of dinner ware due to again it's just me and my place is too small to invite guests over for dinner as I don't even have a kitchen or dining table as that would take up too much room (Imagine a modest motel room with a kitchenette and loo, that' is basically my apartment down to the small "in wall" electric heater which produces higher electric bills than adequate heat).

Two other reasons I don't use the dishwasher for washing dishes include 1.  the soap for them is more expensive as it's measured for doing a full load like a family would produce in a day, and 2. the fact I have items, like several pieces of cast iron cookware, that need to be hand washed to preserve the seasoning (soap is the enemy of a well seasoned skillet).

As to transit.  Without it would be difficult for me to get around as I no longer drive, too expensive along with the fact my eyesight, depth perception and reflexes are not what they used to be.  Actually haven't driven for a few decades as I've either lived in small towns easy enough to walk or bike from one end to the other or cities that had reasonable transit. This also means I would have to pay a teenager's insurance rate for at least 6 months again as I would be classified as a "new driver" given the lapse.

The area I am now in has most things I need within a short walking distance and is reasonably served by our transit system (later evenings can be another matter though). Portland has a mix of rail and bus service, and for its size has a fairly extensive rail commuter network (5 LRT lines and 2 inner city trams) which started service some 36 years ago. Since recovering from the pandemic the transit commission has been on a service and route expansion campaign and more improvements are on the way. Being a senior and semi disabled I get half off he standard fare. and there are no more "fare zones" (one fare covers the riding the entire system including the LRT lines, trams, and a commuter rail line on the west side.

As to "bus stops". For some odd reason Portland closed down the main bus station (which is a rather new building that has been sitting vacant ever since) and now you have to board intercity buses (like BoltBus and the aforementioned Running Dog) at a curb side area just north of the train station, no shelters or any protection from the elements( or denizens of the old town area).  To make the situation even less attractive or conveinient, you have to buy your tickets at a ticket office about 5 blocks away.  This really gets me as Portland is bigger (particularly the metro area) than my old hometown of Milwaukee WI.  However, the latter has a nice new (and actually clean) intermodal terminal that serves Amtrak, Running Dog, and a few regional bus lines. Given the straits most rust belt cities have been through, I would have expected the opposite situation to be true.

Complaint:  Booger!  My chair broke!  My ancient, bought used, distressed, overstuffed, recliner chair with the cat scratched corners and ugly green that doesn't match my carefully uncoordinated color scheme, Victorian clutter, decorated office/living room.  A major spring in the seat completely broke in half (sproing) while I was sitting on it.surprise  After climbing out of the basketball sized depression in the seat I turned the chair over to take a look at the damage, and decided that there is no fixing this without getting a huge bill that would cover a brand new chair.frown

Non-complaint:  Yay!  I get to shop for a new chair!  Wheee... shopping!yes  And it's almost time for household sales again.enlightened  I've known for a while that my chair was in its last roundup and I'd been looking for a replacement.  Last summer I found a wonderful, real, thick leather, recliner for $400 at a household sale.smiley  A new one of similar quality would have been at least a couple thousand.  But despite having the cash, I wimped out because of the difficulty of getting it delivered.  Hindsight is 20/20, I should have bought it. (*sigh*)sad  I'll probably end up with something cheap from a discount store or a place that will deliver, and dispose of my old chair.

'Nother complaint:  Arghhh..., I was cooking breakfast this morning and absent mindedly listening to a show on YouTube.  The clip ended and a new one came on talking about the Star Trek Picard TV series.  Then without out me noticing  they started talking about the new 3rd season, and before I realized it, I'd heard a major spoiler.  Arghhhhhhhh...crying

I don't see anything wrong with it... maybe they thought she was choking the lamb, or they didn't like red hair?... one of my daughters dyed her hair red and then one of her teachers started picking on her... but that could also be because the teacher is a complete a_ _ _ _ _e regardless of what color of the spectrum her hair is absorbing... he spent ten minutes going on about gas stoves the other day... I'm not going to go into that, but you can't always understand what someone else is thinking... or why...  I see a little kid hugging a plush lamb toy with her cat tagging a long... someone else may see that as something else entirely.

I had a lot of satirical things that I was going to write that blended the teacher thing and your image thing together into an essay on perspective, but no matter how I hashed it out it wouldn't have lasted.

I'm trying to figure out what the word with the missing letters is... I'm fairly certain I know what the first syllable is, but I'm not sure if the second one is hole or wipe. Could be either.

A Ponderable:  Speaking of holes..., who was the author of the name for the black hole in the center of our galaxy?  Sagittarius A*  Where the "*" is the essential identifier, because Sagittiarius A (without the *) identifies a region of space in the Sagittarius constellation with strong radio emissions near the what was suspected to be the center of the galaxy.  But Sagittarius A* (with the *) identifies the blackhole itself!  Not only does this cause confusion for journalists and other non-astronomers, but how do you even pronounce it?frown  Calling it Sagittarius A-asterisk is a bit clumsy.  However, the asterisk (*) has a few informal names such as "splat" and "star".  I guess Sagittarius A-star is better than Sagittarius A-splat.  But have you looked carefully at the asterisk?  With just a modicum of imagination it looks suspiciously like a small round pucker of flesh.  Perhaps a more memorable and accurate name would be Sagittarius A-hole.enlightened

...use of an asterisk generally means either there is a footnote some somewhere linking to a reference, or it notes a dubious feat like someone who broke a record but did so by less than honest means.

It could also mean someone accidentally pressed the shift key when they intended to type the number "8".

I spent several hours last night manually downloading basically all of the non-sports animations on Mixamo, and I've been spending a good chunk of today merging them into MotionBuilder one by one, deleting the duplicates and renaming things. I can't describe how mind-numbing it is, but it will be well worth it once I'm done.

Non-complaint:  While making breakfast this morning I saw a fox run down the neighbor's driveway.  It's the first fox I think I've ever seen up here.surprise  There were lots of them in the suburbs around Washington, DC, and they were primarily reddish like foxes are usually pictured.  The fox I saw this morning was a dark red/orange in the places where it wasn't black.  Darker than I've seen before.  The ears were all black and all four feet, up past mid-thigh were black and the shoulder fur was dark orange, almost brown.  I thought it was a dog at first.

Similar image below, but not dark red enough, and not enough black streaks.

I'd be happier if I ever saw some toads in the yard.  Used to be scads of them when I was a kid 6+ decades ago  The town's no different, just the environment.sad

Strange tail part. Many years ago at 6 in the morning, a fox came down the street on the walkway towards me. It stopped about 10 yards in front of me, turned to the street, looking left up and right down, then crossed it and continued over the bridge and disappeared. Exactly the same thing happened the next three days.

That sounds like an omen or some kind of spiritual event... Especially three times in a row...

The fox was probably your spirit animal telling you to follow him... most likely to bestow upon you an epiphany about the true nature of existence and the secrets of the cosmos...

Or it found a great new dessert shop and wanted you to try some tasty figgy pudding or something like that...

Or quite possibly it was trying to lure you into a secluded area so the rest of the fox gang could rob you... Globally fox related crimes have been on the rise in Europe and Canada since 1998... (in the US it's mostly coyotes*)

A long time ago I followed a chipmunk who kept calling me Dave... (I'm assuming he thought I was someone else)... he took me on a long journey through a park and then he climbed up on a tree stump and told me that the time had come for him to reveal to me the fundamental nature of the universe... but just as he was about to begin a hawk snatched him up and I was left to wander alone and unfulfilled, back to the main path... plus it started to rain... it really sucked because I was already tired and it was one of those late summer days where it gets unseasonably cold when it rains... and on top of that I found a tick on my leg so I could have gotten Lyme disease...

The answer to life's mysteries are probably stupid anyway... like eat your soup and don't be mean to babies or old people"... which sounds good if you are a baby or an old person, but if you are in between it's like such a drag... like what if the baby is a big jerk?... Are you supposed to just cut them slack because they can't stand up yet?...

Maybe you dodged a bullet there.

*Joke reference: Several years ago there was some former guy who was in the news every day, who actually thought real coyotes were committing crimes.

We used to have toads and salamanders in our yard... I actually tried making a sanctuary area for them in the woods... but I haven't seen them on my property in over ten years... I used to think it was because the large pond down the road shrank a lot or maybe because about ten or so years ago newer residents to the neighborhood started to cut all the trees down so they could have huge lawns in the yard... but now I'm not so sure... environmentally, amphibians are usually the first to be killed off by drastic changes... I wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do with all these "mosquito services" that popped up about the same time... "Targeted Control" and "Barrier Sprays" my butt... nuking the woods with shady chemicals has its consequences.

Ah yes, an omen perhaps but one I never understood. Another cute event was also many years back when I sat on the balcony on the 4th floor in my flat/apartment, drinking some fine glasses of wine in the evening, watching the sun go down and the stars appearing. A spider came up, about 2 inches big, black, right of me on the wall. So I got another glass and a business card, but the spider into the glass (not the one with the wine) and threw it out and watched it falling down into the grass of the garden below. Next evening, same set-up, same time, same (?) spider came up and got thrown down. Next evening, same thing. And that was it, the fourth evening I wasn't visited anymore.

@kyoto kid  I thought this dress looked like it might suit your pre-teen characters. It's in the lingerie sale, although I have no idea why. It doesn't look like lingerie to me:

I saw your render above and thought the dress would look pretty on her.

....interesting, Usually here when I see the word "Lingerie" it means skimpy see through clothing.  That is actually nice and has a number of different textures included..  Thanks for the reference.

...complaint.  We just had the midterms a few months ago and I'm already getting emails about 2024.  Can't they even  give me one year of peace & quiet?  Even unsubscribing doesn't work.
