I think, originally they have made it to dry these out. These are what I think of first, when Nokia is mentioned.

That's one of the reasons I stuck with 4G when I bought my new phone a few months ago.  I live out in the boondocks, where weak spots are frequent because of all the hills & valleys.  Even my home, in a town only 7 miles from a small city (pop: 29,000 and falling), I've had problems with reception.  Believe me, with my early phones it sucked having to toddle even my then not-so-ancient self upstairs and stick the phone out the window to even activate a new TracFone subscription. frown And I know where the cell towers are and have always been.no  It was better when I got my previous 4G phone though.yes  But upon hearing that 5G is finickier(more finicky?), I decided to stick with 4G until I get some assurance that 5G, will continue to work for me, at home, when I'm forced to move to 5G technology.  I barely use the features of 4G, I have absolutely no need for 5G.cheeky  But there it is, it's coming and I can't stop it.

Hmmm..., first 80F(26.6C) day of spring here.  But next week is in the 40s again.sad  Last night was the first night I had to open a window and use my bedroom fan since last fall.  Is it time to put the air-conditioner back into the window, or not? indecision

Non-complaint:  Remember the tree that fell down a few days ago?  I got a glimpse of it on Tuesday when I rode the bus past it.  But yesterday I toddled on up to the grocery store and walked past the fallen tree and got a good long look at it, its debris, and the wires it brought down.surprise  However, it was actually a pine tree, not an elm.  In my defense, it was behind an elm tree just two houses away from me, but the pine was two further houses down the street, and I only saw about a half a second of the falling tree as it happened.  My mind made up the rest.blush

Complaint:  Toddling up to the grocery store and carrying back two very heavy bags has aggravated my foot & knee arthritis and left me gasping for air, and sitting on my porch for a few minutes before finally taking in the groceries.  And today I'm hobbling around the house with my cane like an ancient person.sad  I need to find a reliable, once-a-week ride to/from the grocery.

(*Sigh*):  My singing neighbor on the other side of the wall has become enamored with the song "House of the Rising Sun".  His singing has not improved.indecision

Arghhh... Double complaint:  My neighbor apparently has a friend over and they're both bellowing the words of "House of the Rising Sun", poorly.crying  (Um, bellowing well, singing poorly)

    Complaint:

People who write articles using acronyms they never explain... and use it in practically every other sentence... it's bad enough if you use it once or twice and move on, but if you are using it multiple times I start to wonder if you even know what the hell it stands for... it's especially annoying for acronyms that are longer than three characters or are new versions of what is essentially the same old thing just switched up for some reason... and even more annoying is when you have a thing like say a UPS/PSU/APU/APC and you go back and forth between the other names it goes by, but in acronyms... especially since the last one is more a brand name like "Kleenex" or "Plexiglass" and they aren't really all the same thing technically, but you are going on writing a halfassed pseudo-tech article regardless.

I probably complained about acronyms before... I have nothing against them, they make sense if you use them properly, but unless it's an industry newsletter or something where you are expected to automatically know the reference, you need to write out the acronym at least once... and don't make the acronym a link to an equally lame article where I have to skim through it to find out the meaning... that's literally a big eff-you to anyone reading... like you are too busy to add a few extra words, instead the reader has to do the legwork.

I know I should be the last one to be complaining about how other people write, but I genuinely decided a long time ago if people with degrees are getting checks for hacking their way through writing, I'm not going bother writing any different than I talk... which is convoluted and confusing, with lots of redundancy and disjointed references and is basically an ongoing assault on proper grammar and punctuation.

Complaint: They're still doing things the 1960's way here!  Adding the Easter Egg freebie to people's accounts by hand, one at a time.  People are complainging, not in this thread, about it.  As a database programmer, I can tell you that as long as they're not using a card file system, I could have written a short script/program to add the item to the accounts of every person who qualifies, and it would run in a matter of seconds, not minutes, not hours, and certainly not days!  Unless, of course, they don't have a decent database...or the hamsters didn't run out of energy at the "server".  laugh

...didn't bother with the latest one as it's for G9.

Yeah I remember when sales were nice and simple here without all the games and multiple hoops to jump through for an extra 10% or so (that is applied in using Daz Math so that "10%" becomes something like 4%).

I was really hoping last weekend was the end of MM. We're almost midway through April now.

What was that Easter Egg thing?

I saw a thread about it but it didn't really mention anything other that it wasn't really working... I didn't want ask because I figured it was like the Tokens or Punches or it was a Platinum Plus ++ Super Mega Extra Extra Large Fun Plus Club thing..

Either I accidentally deleted the relevant email or I didn't get it... both equally possible...

I couldn't tell if it was for ordinary saps who like collecting stuff like Easter Eggs or dead fish washed up on the beach...

and are these edible Easter Eggs or are they more like fun surprises you can discover, like when you hide a rattlesnake in your friend's glove compartment?

I suppose it's more fun for the hider, than the finder, but sometimes the snake has a little fun too.

I'm really bored right now... I'm sitting in my car in a shadeless parking lot and it's 84°F, which isn't bad, but so early in the season it feels like 95°F

I'm also annoyed because I can't connect my iPhone to the radio using the AUX usb port so I can play Spotify...

Everyone else's phone in my family works that way and is the same model... but mine is like "NO, Nope, sorry"...

The internet is useless in fixing this too... so many people with more or less the same problem, but you have people giving them instructions for brand new cars... idiot, I would just use Bluetooth if it was a brand new car, why would I use AUX?... also "you should contact the audio equipment manufacturer"... really? Have you ever tried that even back when that was a thing?

There's even one dope giving instructions on how to hook up to Spotify using Bluetooth on a brand new Highlander, when the OP clearly said it was a 2011... Totally different systems... on the new one everything is through the infotainment center, on the old one it's a plain old stereo.

I hate when people don't read the original question and just give random advice.

The Easter Egg thing is a giveaway.  You have to "purchase" the free Easter Egg every day for four days, (part 1 of 4, part 2 of 4, etc.).  The day after the fourth day, you supposedly get the item for free.  The first one is a DD shader, Metal Grills.  We're already at 3 of 4 of the next egg...but very few people have gotten the first product in their accounts yet.  Second one is a hair for G9.  It's free, so I've collected them so far.  But, that means the fourth one will be out tomorrow.  So, judging by this slow turnover, the product will probably not be in people's accounts for download any earlier than probably next Wednesday.  I could be wrong.  The eggs only last one day, so if you miss one, you're out of luck.

@ MCGuyver:  "AUX" you have an "AUX" input?  The last car I had, had a radio, a CD player and a cassette player.  Period.   If I wanted any more inputs I had to plug-in a cassette tape converter thingie that connected to an 1/8th inch stereo plug on some external device.  Very hip in 2003.indecision  I'm afraid to rent a car now, I don't think I could start it, much less fly it.blush  But at least I won't be looking for a crank.yes

I fear you have found the Amulet of CkCk, a dark and cursed relic that is said to hold the soul of CkCk The Destroyer of Worlds... legend has it that before the great hero Forkules of Kutlery finally vanished CkCk, throwing him into the great forge of Palakpaneer, CkCk was able to bind his soul to the amulet which was recovered by his followers... the legends say the amulet was lost many millennia ago, but that soon CkCk will attempt to return via the this relic and when he does, he will unleash his vengeance on the universe... it is believed that the amulet can only be destroyed in the fires of the mythical brick oven of the equally mythical pizzeria on the third moon of Alooparatha in the Panipurdi system...

So... yeah... Good luck with that.

Be sure to let us know how that went...

Also I'm a little hungry and I may have messed up some of that legend based on food conversations going on nearby.... but definitely let us know how that goes.

    Cheers.

Yeah, I just noticed it's a Platinum Plus ++ Ultra Super Happy Fun Time Mega Titanium Reinforced Club (or whatever it's called) thing... I guess I missed that detail the first time I looked at the Easter Egg thread... it sounds depressing anyway so it's better off that I'm not involved with it and not a Platinum Plus ++ Ultra Super Happy Fun Time Mega Titanium Reinforced Club member.
Thanks for the explanation though... it sounds like the whole thing is rather exhausting... reading through that thread, it seems like a good idea that went very wrong.

That vehicle (the SUV) is from 2011... so that was actually pretty decent at the time... my van is a 2007 and it's only got a radio and CD play... no Aux anything.

Sometimes you are out there and you see something that really makes you think... like today I came across Spider-man...

I guess ever since Doctor Strange made everyone forget Peter Parker, poor old Spidey has fallen on hard times...

Spidey has been through some stuff... bad stuff... not even superhero stuff, just bad, bad stuff...

And that other guy in the back... I don't even know what's going on there, but whatever it is, it can't be good.

Is it just me or does Spidey have a stick up his butt?  That could be bad stuff .....
