I'm not a DAZ+ member, so the opportunity to get the Nerine for $2.99 by buying a skinny green thing was welcome. Not sure if I'll ever even download the skinny green thing; definitely not my sort of thing. Regards, Richard.

To be fair to the skinny green thing, she does come in other colours too, including human colours, although she will remain skinny if you don't want to dial any other morphs into her.

I'm not entirely sold on G9 yet, having previously only bought V9 as pre-release and MSO Dola. The skinny green thing is not a character shape I would get if it were the only thing - in fact I find it rather disturbing. As it is, using it to get the DAZ+ freebie for a non-DAZ+ member was acceptable. I still feel neither the need nor desire to download the skinny green thing.

    Regards,

    Richard

question.. WHAT is this "skinny green thing" you all are talking about????

Ok, this was yesterday's release for ultrascenery (https://www.daz3d.com/ultrascenery--planet-taira) + today's flashback release (Frozen World), but I think it's so cool! I want to say thanks to HowieFarkes and spread the word so hopefully people will buy it and he will create more planet ecosystems!

    alient planet

And alternate view of sky and image:

    more on the planet

    Gallery link.

I also think https://www.daz3d.com/space-bash is pretty darn cool, but I don't have renders ready on that one yet. =)

Shimrian Those are very lovely renders! Thanks for sharing! heart More planet ecosystems would be very cool! yes

Um Llola, I think richardandtracy is talking about Thorne's Nala for G9 since one of her main promos has her with a green skin...  She's not among his DAZ favorites I think. wink

I *like* the look of the medieval courtyard that just dropped today. Will be tricly to light in 3DL, but it's very handsome.

I absolutely agree. One of the best looking courtyards that have been released lately. Monyto has a small store up to now, but he could get in line with Faveral, Fugazi and even Stone Mason in the long run.

As a child I was lucky enough to go to Berg Eltz in the Mosel Valley in Germany, and more recently Ightham Mote in Kent. Both have courtyards with the same feel captured by the Courtyard of Miracles. Very nice indeed.

    Richard

To get the DAZ+ weekly freebie Nerene plant model, which as a non-DAZ+ member would otherwise have cost $13.95. Total price for the two: $2.99. I can confirm the skinny green thing is Nala.

My wife has lots of Nerenes in the garden & loves them.

    Richard

Very nice! I live near Burg Kreuzenstein, which is nice as well. It is also not far from Vienna and they make shows with falcons and other griffon birds from time to time.

Oh you lucky thing. I adore the German & Austrian Castles (mediaeval houses too, Lemgo is absolutely fantastic place to visit, as well as Hameln - though most of those are rebuilt since 1945 to the original designs), they are so much more attractive than the mediaeval fortresses left in the UK. I think I still have a very old plastic model railway castle kit loosely based on Burg Kreuzenstein (or maybe another similar). As a kid, I actually bought my first Marklin model railway to make my HO scale Faller & Kibri model house kits look more realistic...

    Richard

UK has some very nice places as well. Just working on a story that starts in UK.

By the way: Love your pose sets on Rendo. Just amazing.

She was the "Holidaz Deal" on the first day of the punch card. Then went up to 3.99 for the next two days, and then cycled out.

Wow, the new Mihrelle Dutch Braids are not even 50 MB in (zipped) size, amazing! They look really good nonetheless. I was debating this whole day whether to get them, as they're still quite expensive even with 3 punches, but in the end, I couldn't resist. They're just too well suited to historical styles. Mihrelle has surely done some serious changing to her work process, almost all the last hairs were small in file size. I like that trend!

    Thanks for the heads up!

A lot of the German castles were originally built in the 19th century, particularly those along the Rhine (Napolean had all the older ones along here destroyed). As such they were built as homes, not as places of defence, and so the battlements are purely for decoration. They have windows in places that would never happen in a real castle built to withstand a battle. This is why they are so much more attractive and fairytale like than the surviving medieval castles, as the architects would design them to look good.

  • The must-buy item today for me was the Magic Mirror. I also had put the Jasmine outfit and Wendel in the cart, then removed Wendel because I wanted to keep it to twenty dollars* and with my current sour feelings about actually using G9s in stories without pain, Wendel was the item I was going to use the least. (No affront to Kooki--I like Wendel a lot and may buy him some future day.)

    * The three-punches discount and the orange-banner discount DO stack.

I do love whatever peculiar universe Ansiko lives in, and have bought an awful lot of Ansiko/Pamawo stuff over the last few years, and I have much respect for the audacity to make a flying-carpet hoverboard and not bothering to conceal the obvious SF elements of it at all--I believe in the genre Mixmaster myself as well--but for some reason I just didn't imagine a place I could actually USE it.

ah so that was a good deal for you then... ;)  I'm not fond of green either... but I didn't buy her cause I have plenty of Nala's in my library... lol.  Maybe you can make her a fairy or something... flying amidst the Nerene ;)

I know who Emrys and Sabby are but who is Jadyn? This artist does not have anything in their store except JASA Aurora HD. Are they new?

i would love to know, what are miras alternative shapes that are unvaulted.
like on the similar sales before, i could not figure out what the unvaulted content is.

i kinda remember, that one would receive the alternative shapes with the starter or pro packages when these figures were initially published.
but i could be wrong there. how would one know these days on how to receive them or even distinguish them from not vaulted shapes?

i think the sales are missing some clear information here. at least for some lesser gifted persons like me. ;)

Mira's shapes were only available if someone purchased her Pro Bundle during the first month after her release.

Mira is the first character to have her alternate shapes only available for a limited time, all the previous 'unvaulted' ones (Olympia, Olivia, Van Helsing and Julius) have their alternate shapes as part of their Pro Bundles (I think Olivia's shapes are available outside the bundle since the beginning and it's her makeup that is exclusive to the Pro Bundle).

Every character released since Mira is using the same 'Time limited bonus for the pro bundle' mechanisme for their alternate shapes and you can see how it is worded on Wang 9 Pro Bundle page.

Each (I think) pro bundle for G9 had so called "alternate shapes" for its respective characters, usually old and young, but sometimes something else (Death has a toon one, if I recall correctly). At some point, those alternate characters were also time-sensitive (as: removed from the bundle content after a certain deadline). For this week, each of the core character's alternate shapes are "unvaulted", so brought back to the store and available for purchase without buying the pro bundle for the given character.

At the moment, the unvaulted shapes are for Julius 9 and Mira 9.

You can always view them on the store's day-specific sales page. For today, it's this: https://www.daz3d.com/2023-daz-holiday-sale. Just scroll to the new releases.

    I found it.

Irritating, that one is able to click on the separate announcement and is led to a sales page that does not include the alternative shapes.
I just missed the fact that they were under debut new releases on the "special" page.
that doesn´t seem right. (although its probably a debut for them to be released alone).
i believe they should be listed on the store page beneath the advertisement too. but thats just me.
