More or less realistic than a Kardashian 'Celebrity' would you say? I suspect no more unrealistic than those made for TV 'real' life 'characters' when made up, primped and prodded for TV.

    Regards,

    Richard

i don't understand what you mean. What i meant is that Maryam looks toon to me. Not a criticism, just an observation.
  • I was rather thinking that she's more like one of the TV celebs after they have been made 'fit' to appear on the not-so-real 'reality' series about the ultra wealty by the make up departments.

    Regards,

    Richard

She looks rather toonish to me, too, it's the enormous eyes I think and the bland textures (a bit like Josie, no?). But I agree, she's cute! Am pondering getting her. I also love LOVE the idea to make some modern hijab outfits!

Curious about this line from dForce Myra Hair's copy:

dForce Myra Hair for Genesis 9 is a cute mid-length style dForce hair that includes 22 colors, wind, movement, and style morphs and fits for most tier 1 characters for your Genesis 9 figure. (Male and Female fits)

Maybe a new term for "core character"?

I quite like the new Militia outfit. Yeah, it's dFrce, and the detail is probably all in the textures, butthe various pieces seem to work together well, the skirt is a good length and fullness, and it's definitely seasonal. Here's hoping that the clones will let it be used on G8 without a lot of argument.

I keep seeing PAs talk about how great the mesh is to work with, so I have to assume this is an intentional, aesthetic choice.

  • Hey, now, don't mock the lad for having wall-eyed nipples! That's just cruel.

  • What are you referring to? Is it the rather obvious flattened breast curve under the pectoral?

If so, I too assume it's intentional, because I have seen so many modeller's comments about how good the G9 mesh is to work with.

I also think it's strange, as it must be intentional given what's said about the nice mesh, we never saw such a modelling feature attempted in previous generations of males, not even by those with access to HD. Very curious, when a number of PA's manage to achieve it with G9, and none achieved this shape with previous generations.

It's such a shame that a feature like that does not actually appear on most humans, despite the apparent desire to model it.

    Regards,

    Richard

He's got body hair in one of the promos too... I wonder if it's a skin that is not mentioned in INCLUDED?

It looks a bit like Pablo 8.1's facial hair.

It does look a bit, but if you look closely in the image there's beard in the neck, i don't remember Pablo 8.1's facial hair to have that ;)

hey!  the beard and body hair used on the main promo for Noah is what comes with the Kaz character by RedzStudio G9 Redz Kaz for Genesis 9 | Daz 3D .  although the others listed above are great (have them), they weren't used in this specific render (I was the artist commissioned for the main promo for Noah, lol).  hope that helps!!

  • The first promo image for EMD Charmaine (https://www.daz3d.com/em3d-charmaine-hd-for-genesis-9) really is quite startling in it's quality. Could almost be a cover for Vogue magazine.

    Regards,

    Richard.

She's an intriguing character. I can't decide how old she's supposed to be. And yes, the promo images are amazing.

  • My guess for age would be late 20's maybe early 30's, though the train compartment promo images (last two) have her dressed a bit younger.

    Richard

Anybody else excited about Basic Depth Map Maker? I especially appreciated the demo video included on the product page which allowed me to decide quickly if this is something I want and need.

I'm excited too. I have struggled with depth for so long---my shallowness aside---and I'm hoping this added to canvases will give me the results I seek.

There is a tutorial here https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/334586/tutorial-adding-atmosphere-with-a-depth-canvas by @chris-2599934 on how to do it the hard way. The product suggests it should be a lot easier that way.

chris-2599934's way does work very effectively, but is long winded and there is a risk you'll forget a step.

    Richard

Also the introduction video suggests that results will be better than just straight DAZ depth map.

I've been using some of the atmosphere products to add depth, but depending on the scene, they don't always work the way I need them to or in some cases, my poor RTX 2060 can manage... so it's good to have another tool in the toolbox, and I love dabbling in postwork.
