Terrible black friday deals

Why ''New releases'' are excluded from the black friday deal ?  Who on earth thought this was a good idea ?

FYI, this is not how you maximize making money.

  • This is standard, most general offers exclude new releases (new releases usually get their own, specific discounts).

This being the ''standard'' doesn't mean new releases should be excluded from special events like black friday, Christmas, New Year, etc.

Oh well, seems like DAZ store isn't getting one penny from me this time.

Right now it looks like another "get an item as close to $ 2.- to keep the punch for tomorrow" day.

Well I just got 10 brand new products for about 7 dollars, so I think today's deals on the new releases are pretty impressive. Clearly any deal will not please everyone.

  • The only complaint I have right now is that I was hoping for another Gift Card sale before Thanksgiving  (and another early December for those sales!).  I have twelve 78% off items in my cart waiting to see what flash sales pop up today before checking out so it's been good to me so far.

  • The 50% plus punch card discounts off DAZ+ memberships is the best discount in a very long time. And today's new  bundles are really great deals for DAZ+ members.

New deals are being added every day. So, maybe there will be a gift card sale later.

I see Daz+ memberships are finally 50% off. Kinda want to and also don't want to do that. The last thing I need are more new items in my library, and Daz+ definitely encourages procurement. And the 3-letter plague is still a thing here. But there are Daz+items on my list and it's the season to grab them (even though the best holiday sales sometimes arrive after Black Friday). It's early yet. indecision

Maybe the GCs will be in a flash sale later today or a feature for tomorrow, or even Cyber Monday. One never knows about these things. wink

It sounds great if you got the punches. Cheers to that.

I have no idea what this punch card nonsense is

Do I buy two new releases today and get... discounts tomorrow?

As I understand it you get one punch a day for each qualifying purchase made during the previous two days.  One punch over the previous two days qualifying purchase would get you 10% off; two punches get you 20% off. But now they're doubled so you get 20% off or 40% off. And there are exclusions mentioned in the ad copy.  Taking a quick look: "Discount usable multiple times per day. Excludes Gift Cards and FastGrab items. Double discount excludes New Releases, Gift Cards, and Daz+ items."

So the 10% (1-punch) or 20% (2-punch) should apply to new releases and Daz+ items but the discount doesn't double for new releases nor Daz+ items.  None of the punch discounts apply to Gift Cards and FastGrab.

    Hope I got that right.

Edited to add:  If you made a qualifying order today then, yes, you'd get the punch tomorrow and would count for tomorrow and the day after.

Edited again: (I should have just gone back to bed).  You only get a maximum of one punch for a day's orders no matter how many qualifying orders you make that day.

  • It would be a better sale if therevwere deals on older core figures , and Ive gotten all the $3 (or whatever cost they are today) grab bag items I cared about.

But I got some things I wanted last week.

    *thinking guy meme*

You don't gotta sweat Black Friday sales, when you're too broke to partake of them.

Gamifying sales is one of the biggest reasons I stopped buying things on Daz as often. Oh well. Will wait for boxing week, maybe it will be straight forward then

...and like I mentioned on the Daz+ forum if you still have your 5$ survey credit that also applies bringing the price down to 16$.

For myself, this timed out pretty well as my membership expires in a week.

My frugal ways mean $35 to Daz+, $30 with my $5 credit. I know it's still a good deal, but the timing is off. Looking at XP-Pen monitors and other little system upgrades. Maybe next time. angel

It has been like this for a long time and sometimes a regular everyday sale. Being a holliday has nothing to do with it. It goes both ways every day as to what is included and what is not.

I wouldn't fault Daz for not offering deep discounts on the new stuff. What gets me is the across the board raising of prices and meager sale discounts when there is a sale. I've just stopped buying period. Can't afford it no more. Sometimes something is priced reasonably but it's getting more rare.

They don't seem to tell you how many punches are active. You have to review you purchase history for yesterday and the date before to figure out how many punches you'd have today.  And they don't show you how much discount each punch is worth. You have to read through the daily sales text to see if it's the normal 10% per punch or if it's doubled.  I just toss stuff in the cart and check the price there. If I like the price I buy it. If I don't it goes into the wishlist.

Reduce the prices too much and the PAs don't make any significant money.

nobody would release new stuff during that period then.

  • My only complaints would be the lack of decent female stuff of late...  there's little opportunity to build up a discount for the blackfriday sale which in turn will make the event less appealing.

There's no visual "punch card" anywhere.

The easiest way to see how big your extra discount is would be to add to cart an item which isn't on sale at all.

I don't actually the understand sale. IIRC, last year it was 50% of everything except new releases. That was easy.

What I expected to see was that I'd go to my wishlist and see some amazing offers. When I look at my wishlist, almost everything is full price / intro discount. I look at the black Friday page expceting to see some products and there is less on it than usual. Something about a punch card which looked complicated and required multiple purchases to get 40% off. In Daz terms, 40% off isn't great.

As a customer, if the deal isn't obvious, I am  not going to spend time working it out. That money that I'd put aside lately for buying stuff is going to be spend elswhere. In previous years, I went to my wishlist, put $200 in the basket (let's give the number) and it was simple. Maybe the idea is you spend more time here and you buy other things? Maybe you have to buy things at full price (?) I don't know. But that's how I feel anyway.

And Cloudflare says I am trying to attack the site which does not put me in the best mood either, Accusing customers of crimilality is not a great idea. I am not sure why it thinks that. Maybe just more forum issues?

At least I will save money smiley

I'm not playing these games anymore, as they just give me headache. These days I get what I like and ignore the rest + looking through the fastgrab to see if there's anything I want there. And if something's on sale, then I'm good with that.

Can't blame DAZ this time. Rather the opposite.

The buy-in for the punch discount is rather low with two following days of at least $2. The offers seem to stay so if you buy today and tomorrow two DAZ+ products you should get max discounts on Sunday good for even the stuff from yesterday, today and Saturday. With punches all products in the sale sections are 84% in my cart (if you get at least 3 items per section) which is great to pick up stuff from the wishlist. Hope we'll see hair and environments in the next days as well.

And todays deal on the DAZ+ membership is even better than yesterday. Got 1 additional year for as low as $15.75.

And with regards to new releases. Yesterdays Mega Bundle was a bargain and there are always products which are not included since they are only out for less then two months or some products PAs don't want to be included for a heavy discount yet.

It sounds like the deals are there if you understand what to do. Maybe I need to read it again after work, but this just seems far, far too complicated. I don't come here very often now. I got too annoyed with the flash sale timings and I decided it was better all round for my sanity to stay away!

I even had the "please come back we miss you" email a few weeks back, which had an offer "just for me" that seemed to be widely available!
