If you hadn't seen yesterday's claim that it was the last day for acquiring the punchcard discount you would think that it has rolled over and is continuing as normal...  on the strength of that how many people will today spend their money in good faith in the (supposedly) mistaken belief that they will receive extra discount tomorrow...

Daz needs to be clear on where we all stand...  they may well be taking money for something they didn't plan on continuing.

...the promo email I just received touts a "Storewide Sale" however the selection seems pretty thin for such a; claim  Less than 2 pages each for the 2022 Top Sellers, Historical Top Sellers, Daz+ Category, and the same abbreviated list of PA stores we had on Saturday.

    Something isn't right.

On the RawArt sale, it's a weeklong sale, so it will get corrected, but likely not till after Daz is back in the office after the holidays. It looks like six or so items mistakenly did not get included.

Just to say (despite what Richard says above) at least this item is still not discounting:

At this point, I can only advise a ticket.

"Storewide" usually means storewide, even in Daz advertising, but I see plenty of new and old stuff with no discount.

    I think they meant storewide*

  • Tried two gift cards (promos says up to 20%; $200+; 2 new releases > $5). Discount is shown as 19%. Is nearly 20% but not exactly. What's the problem?

Because the card being over $200 knocks off 15%. The two items gets you 5% off the remaining 85% Still, though, the only way you're actually saving money there is if the value of that five percent exceeds the value of those items... otherwise it's cheaper to buy them with the gift card credit.

  • That was not my question. I have a $200 gift card in my cart plus 2 new releases > $5. According to the promo I should get 20% on the gift card (15% + 5% = 20%, ingnoring the usual DAZ math in this case as it is advertised that way). But in cart it shows $161.50 instead of $160. And this simple sucks. Will probably purchase and ask for a refund.

Aside from the comment about the items, I thought I did answer what you were asking. You get 15% off, and then with the 2 items you get 5% off the 85% (200*.85=170, 170*.95=161.50) - you get 19,25%

Yes, further down it does say that with 2 Debut or Still New releases you get an extra 5% off which as usual stacks with the 15% off. However, at the begining of the ad it says get up to 20% off gift cards and there doesn't seem to be any way to get the 20% off.

"Up to" and "as low as" are wiggle words you should always be wary of. They are an instant way out in sales jargon, because neither phrase implies any promise. In my younger years I was forced to defend that type of slippery stuff to decline returns far more than I was comfortable with.

  • I miss the old 1st January sales, where I could get 80% storewide in historical items without a punch card. This was the worst Daz holiday imo. I spent way more than saving.

I suspect this is the last day to earn a punch, since that is still on the sales promo page, and then tomorrow (if they stick to that) will be the last day to use it.

This from Yesterday; this interpretation actually makes sense, except the sale page still talks about earninmg punches...

    Too. True.

  • The 20% off discount on the punch card, seems to be removing 20% of the 5% extra discount on the gift card. My $200 gift card is 19% off with two new items in the cart.

DAZ Math 15% off than 5% off :

(1-0.15)*(1-0.05) = 0,8075 so you buy it at 80,75% off the original price.

    = 1-0,8075  = 19,25% off.

  • The Still New items from thee nd of the week were fixed but broke again, this has been reported.

I'm pretty sure today is the last day to use punches, we hae reported the potential cofnusion from the text (though it could be explaining where the discount came from).

The correct maximum discount on gift cards is, as others have noted, 19%. We have reported the conflict with the promo text.

35% punch card or not, today's sale is still lamer then what most of the holiday sales were.

The problem with it and why I would disagree si that up 20% implies and states that 20% is a possibility if you meat particular criteria.  In this case, though, 20% is an impossibility and therefore 19% is the up to, not 20%.  So the advertised maximum gift card discount is blatantly false based on how it is currently being calculated.  Their math calculation could be in error at the moment, though, so maybe they will fix it.

I got the discount with the UFO but the texture pack isn't discounting.

I have a question/observation... There's a RAWART Anniversary Sale going on... and it says ALL RAWART ITEMS are 50% off.. but there are some RawArt items not showing up.  I've been waiting for a sale on https://www.daz3d.com/werwulf-for-genesis-9 which is RawArt and it's not showing for sale and it won't discount the 'punch card' either :(   The sign does say ALL RawArt Items... so what's up??????????????????????????????????

  • AnEye4ArtAnEye4Art Posts: 767
Hmm. I'm not into Rawart stuff; it's gotta be the texturing style or the stylized look of them. Not my style.

Cris has reported to DAZ that several RawArt items not included in the 50% sale. My wishlisted G9 item is also not on the list right now.

I think the punch card discount only applies to the debut new release of the day

A lot of recycling this time around. Seems like the same sale items kept on popping up day after day.

Its not even that.  During the holiday sale we had grab bag sales, we had buy x product and get an additional 20% off the debut new releases or still new releases, we had buy 2 still new/debut new releases to get old items for free, and we had random special banner discounts for qualifying folks adding even bigger discounts with most of those things all stacking with our punch card discount.

The punch card discount without those other things is not really that great.  It ends ups being less than many of the flash sales that go on through the year.  Its ok for a normal daily type stuff, but currently dissapointing based on I figured the sale would end with a bang of sorts rather than a fizzle.

  • I'm very disappointed, I waited the whole year for this 1st January. Are you guys sure the DAZ sale-staff-team is the same? Something really bad happened after the Black Friday. They should have better discounts in these AI times to be honest.

Like I implied, I'm not comfortable with defending it, and I'm sure their support team won't either. Especially when the difference people are wanting to burn the village down over is 75 cents per hundred dollars.
