Nikolai 9 HD has a good-looking morph, but the promos make his skin look like 8.1 instead of Victoria 9, Michael 9, or even Minerva 9. I'll be looking forward to some user renders. I've learned to wait at least a day; plus, I have to get my punch total up.

@Mada what materials actually come with the Summer Santa? The promos show a lot of different textures, but the product page doesn't list any for the short or pool float.
It's a great deal, but I'm on the fence. Not terribly excited about the items (they're nice all around, but I have no clue what I'd use most of them for), and since I'm out of credit, without a gift card sale while the offer lasts I'll probably pass. Before G9 I'd have jumped at this kind of deal without a second thought, but it seems I have finally managed to find some much needed restraint. Or maybe not, the day's just started.
I don't know whether to take a punt on it now, or see if a better deal comes along tomorrow like it did with the Minerva bundle...

The bundle overall isn't as good as Minerva's, IMO (the milk and cookies are not bad at all as an item, but those specifically made me pause and really check the rest of the items to see whether the price of the bundle was worth it vs. getting what I wanted individually). But I will always be ready to shell out for hot older characters, unfortunately for me. :V
Okay, he's great. In terms of how versatile I think he'll be, he's like a cross between Vladimir and Floyd.
I like his skin a lot. So far it seems to combine well with other characters' materials, and I'm finding that it's possible to get a lot of variety just with the more realistic core characters that have been released so far. Since they've all got the same mats including chest and gens, it's really easy to mix and match them.
(Note: I tweaked the mats on the outfit in the first pic, so they're not representative of what the textures look like out of the box.)
OMG This reminds me of Grizzly Adams from The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams, a serial that I loved in my childhood.
I will be buying his mega bundle and three of the add-ons. With just the mega bundle, I blew out my remaining credit, added in one add-on, had couple bucks left. Looked at two of the other three I liked and thought that the 20% off would disappear, so bit the bullet. I will put $7.20 on my card.
And may I just say that this bundle recognizes the celebration of Christmas in two regions of the world, hot in the southern hemisphere with shorts and swimming, and winter in the northern hemisphere and bundled up.
And with a bomb cyclone hitting North America tonight through Christmas and real Farenheit temperatures dropping into the negatives as highs, and Australia in summer, this is great. (Re: the weather, everyone stay safe, warm, and inside rendering if possible.)
Thanks @Mada and @fefecoolyellow and @Shox-Design (love the texture set). The Clauses Poses by @Ensary, I found very sweet.
And this is Winter Solstice, hence the timing I believe.

He looks like a good character. There's some great Christmas stuff in the mega bundle but for me it's a bit late. I'm finishing up the Christmas picture for my email Chritmas card this year, there's no way I could start again with this and have it ready by Christmas. Maybe I should just start working on a picture for next year in advance instead of leaving it to last moment like I always do.
Welp, if I wasn't sold on G9 this would do it. All of these characters are using some combination of Nikolai's morphs and skin with other G9 characters.

Thank you, he's a lot of fun to play with! It really is a huge leap in flexibility to be able to mix morphs like this. There are a ton of G8 characters I love, but adding interesting details to G9 faces without introducing weird proportion issues or creating expression problems is just way, way easier. I still want some specific morphs, but I feel like I could make almost any type of human character with what's already available.
Oh wow, I didn't think of that but the hair and beard are almost exactly the same! I haven't seen that since I was a kid myself.

What is the best anybody can get the mega bundle down to? It's in my cart right now with an add-on for 27 bucks and change. Had two banners for it.
I'm still only halfway convinced of the bundle, the figure itself seems absolutely great though, judging from you guys' renders which are really lovely!

Same sort of price for me. When I saw the price of the bundle on the offer page I almost rejected it straight away. I just added to my cart out of curiousity to see what it would go down to and decided it looks like a great deal.
BTW in the past Daz have said they don't like us comparing personalised offers in the forum so this might annoy the moderators.

Mega deal alert! For those not paying attention to the ENTIRE offering for buying, really, any of today's bundles, there are mega savings afoot.
I got $1259.34 worth of stuff for $149 and some change. I'm not talking really old useless or terribly outdated items either, mostly Genesis 3 - 8 outfits, sets and poses. The sale had really good modifiers as well. For instance, if you buy some of the addons they are basically free considering the discount that put on today's releases and the additional bundle categories. 17 of those items were $1 or less with a few of them being as low as 0.48. With my punch card addons the Nikolai HD Mega bundle was only $5 more than the Santa bundle.
Just my thoughts. Ho! Ho! Ho!

$27.96 here, which means there's a 30% discount coming from somewhere I can't figure out. My calculations said it should have been $39.95.
Check your store messages. You may have 2 seperate orange banner discounts on the megabundle -- one for 20% and one for 30%

I think his default eyes are too white for someone who has to drink all those nips of scotch. :)

Nik's materials have painted on chest hair but no stubble and almost un-noticable cooling in the lower zones of the face, so should be good for gender mixing. I see I'm going to need a stubble collection for Gen9.
The hair that comes with the bundle reminds me of someone.
The Mega Bundle is $48.40 for me, but it's a pass for me. I wouldn't use any of the Christmas stuff. The swim trunks might be okay for a fit character, but I already have enough pairs I can use that will have the same effect. A chubby middle aged character is fine, but clothes aren't going to look right to me on him because they won't be interacting with his body in a realistic manner. A chubby guy's belly is going to hang over the waist band a bit on the sides and front or cut into the flesh a bit. There's going to be excess fabric in the front groin area from the rise not going up to the 'natural' waist of a toned or fit guy.
The Nikolai 9 Santa bundle is already worth it for the figure, the hair set and the outfit. The outfit is, just like the one for Minerva, a brilliant all-rounder, especially if you buy the beautiful textures. Russian Grand Duke, Viking, medieval landowner - it's all covered. The bundle cost me $23,64. Add to that the offer for two big fat bundles for $5 each. I grabbed 'Return to Treasure Island' and the Steampunk bundle. Cookies and other US Christmas stuff don't interest me.
