OK, I admit it, I purchased the mega bundle, but only because I was able to get the price down to $49. And I can use the images for a contest with my agency where I have pretty good odds for a chash prize. Normally I put seasonal items in the wish list and wait for a sale. Please Daz, some of us have lead times, I can't justify the cost when products come out less than a week before the event. I don't know how you insert images in a post so I'll attach the file I've been working on. If any of you PA's want to make a few extra bucks, put out a Santa hat to go with ol' Nick here. I added a hat with Photoshop.
I caved and bought the mega bundle, too. I spend too much here. I think I need an intervention.
I bought the Mega Bundle as well, price was really very much okay. The figure is unique, the Santa outfit is gorgeous - as others already said: those textures!!! -, I like both hair / beard options a lot, and they're not something I have hundreds of variations of already. I didn't care too much for the elves stuff, or the environments, I'm actually a bit miffed at the size of that d... City Center thingy: 1 GB total, and that's even before extracting. There must have been a total mismanagement of textures involved. I can probably make them smaller and therefore the whole thing somewhat useable, but this really is something that should be a Quality Control thing, not my job as the customer. - That said, the deal is pretty good methinks, I don't regret buying the bundle.
I don't quite get that about the city center, it's a large outdoor set that's scaled to have figures within the scene? It's not even top 50 of largest install files in DIM for me, and that's not even counting installers that are split out into multiple parts in DIM. It's big, and it's likely that a lot of people will have issues trying to use it fully loaded, but there have been much more outrageous file sizes for products on a smaller scale.
Well, it's too big for my liking because it's too big for the disc space I have at my disposal, is all I can say. And the set itself is not very sophisticated, so I don't see any need for that size. I have other sets of much bigger environments, with much much more details, that come at maybe half the size. Some PAs give options, which is great, like OOT sometimes does. Otherwise, I do wish - as many others have expressed before - that DAZ would just let us know the package file size beforehand, like Rendo does.
I purchased the Nikolai 9 HD Santa Bundle since I really liked the character, hair and the expressions! I think the hair should also look great on a female, but haven't tried that yet. Something seems wonky with forum uploads on images, so I updated it to my gallery to post here.
Edit: I updated link after publishing in the gallery. The link was bad before.
Not sure if you got an answer but pretty much nada. The Umbrella prop comes with 3 material options for umbrella (red green and blue) and that's it. Had I known that I would have got the textures but I left them on the table for $4 and change. The question is do I really want to rebuy the Mega Bundle, and go for a credit, pay the few bucks extra or make my own? Leaning toward 2 or 3, but in hindsight I would have got the texture pack. Only thing I left on the table.
Edit: Drinking glass umbrella
Not seeing anything unfortunately, want to go ahead and try to republish?
Thanks, wasn't sure how saving images in the gallery worked. It let me post a link it without publishing it first so I thought publish might just mean show in gallery view. Lesson learned. :D
Thank you. No, I didn't get an answer. The forum notifications have been broken off and on for days. Mada probably doesn't even know I asked. I did the same as you - bought the bundle but not the additional textures, since so many were already shown in the Summer Santa package. I am disappointed in the marketing technique.
A quick, festive picture of Nikolai. I like his looks overall, very happy with the figure. Definitely going to enjoy working with him, even outside of the Santa theme.
This guy is only partially Nikolai and the rest is randomized. The outfit is kitbashed from the mega bundle.
I bought the mega bundle too. I really can't afford to keep doing this, I retire in January.
Yea, I got it also. Just because of this guy
Love y'all's renders, so cool! Can't wait till I finally have some free time and get to play with Niki too.
The temperature is in the negatives in Denver and more close to the North Pole and I have a huge smile on my face from the renders I was greeted with this morning. Love them all.
Happy day before Christmas Eve everyone. Be safe out there. Have fun rendering.
The Victorian bundle was just what I needed to pair with Nik bundle, but no opportunity to get store credit among these catching up the catch up of the catch up means I'll most likely have to pass.
In many renders he reminds me of Jeff Bridges
I really like what he adds to the gene pool. Although he had to have hair here because with just the beard he looked like an old site manager of mine many years ago... Eldritch Seeker doesn't much like Nikolai's proportions though, needed a good meshgrabbing around the waist.
Annnnd uploading isn't working again. Let's see if this works.
Some people seem interested in the potential of the Nickolai bundles so here is another image I created today.
I thought I might throw an image in the mix as I am truly enjoying this character (and my first foray into the world of Gen9).
He looks like someone's friendly grandpa. That's nice lighting and a nice reder overall. Thanks for sharing.
I love the renders everyone's doing! :D He's really such a cool character and y'all are doing great work.
And now we have Mrs Klaus, Santa and the sleigh and Reindeer.
Plus the basic Horse 3 which is clearly needed for the Reindeer morph.
All set for tomorrow night...
Just a quick render for the holidays, see in the gallery for all the assets used
