Oh, really? My iPhone is old, a 2016 iPhone SE with iOS 15.7.2, but Safari and the like, i.e. other apps, have always refused to go into landscape mode and it drives me batty. Maybe I should use my old 2003 Motorola Razr.

is it possible that you have either the screen orientation physical switch or or the software switch in control center  toggled on?

Maybe, I'll have to check. I don't think it has a physical switch but it might have a SW switch.

For the record, I've been using an iPhone SE 1st generation for years (until the screen decided to stop working a few months ago and I finally changed to a newer one), and I never had a problem using landscape mode in Safari. So there's most likely a setting for that somewhere.

I have an iPhone SE 2016 bought in Oct 2016, original release Mar 2016. It has iOS 15.7.2 installed. I looked, as told, in "Accessibility" the the portrait/landscape lock toggle and nothing is there. And I still can't get Safari to go into Landscape mode. That's fine I guess as I don't visit the DAZ site from my phone but I was curious as to why. I'm wondering if the gyroscope is broken.

I suposse I should have left some instructions:

Here, tap on the Portrait Orientation Lock toggle (which looks like a lock with a circular arrow) to turn it on or off. The lock will remain in place until you disable it again.

    and check

The Display Zoom feature might be to blame. To disable Display Zoom, follow the steps below:

    1. Open the Settings app.
    2. Go to Display and Brightness.
    3. Scroll down to Display Zoom.
    4. Go to View > Default.

Finally, check and see if Notes rotates which might help diagnose a broken acceleromator

Awesome, thanks. While I don't have a "Display Zoom" setting in "Settings" > "Display & Brightness" I do have that Lock icon & it was locked. I unlocked it & now Safari rotates as it should. I forget about those icons you have to swipe for.
