I was confused with these, but what I really want to know is what morph/morphs are they using on Angela cause even with the growing up product it's more miss than hit trying to make the figure look younger and not having the face look really friggin strange.
I think the advertising text says "new teen add-on" and t makes it appear that this character is a teen. But she's supposed to be college age which is the same as Victoria 8.1 and Michael 8.1 Which could still be a teen, but her facial hd makes it appear she's older than that.
She doesn't much look like a teen to me (which is odd because at my age, anyone under 30 looks like a teen...lol). I like her nose, but that was the only thing I liked about her. She's also female, which I don't use much of nowdays. YMMV :)

I'm bemused what Julia 9 did so wrong that it just gets an untextured face as the character icon...
It was interesting turning the character into a guy, because it doesn't use the feminine face slider (or body slider, for that matter), so in this case I dialled up masculine to 100% and feminine to -50% and after fiddling with the neck a bit to correct some odd thinness at the base, got a Jules 9 that looks a bit more like a teenager.
"Parents are the bones on which children sharpen their teeth."
Calls to mind pups that gnaw on an old shoe when they're teething. Maybe it's also so for gamers.
Cheers!
Apparently Julia was an anime character in her younger teens, but suddenly morphed into her 30s the day she turned 18...because...
Also, her eyelids have that same razor sharp edge to them that Xiu has. But Julia does look a bit better. Her skin is ok, she looks related to Victoria skin wise.
Nice tweak!
Possibly this figure might be of more use for maging G9M characters. Looks more interesting than her store promos.
Xiu Lin using Julia 9 Teen Skin (tweaked a bit for shine and transmission color)
I'm not impressed by streamers or "influencers." But then I was a streamer and YouTuber for a few years!
I never thought Daz 3D bodies looked weird... until G9, that is.

60 year-old granny gamer as an old shoe. Ha! Thanks
I was also perplexed by this. I don't understand why the two skin add-ons list Julia 9 as a requirement, they certainly do not need her morph. Do the skins use part of Julia's skin?.
I think she looks alright, she's not hyper glamorous but has more of a next-door look.
But her expression in promo picture 11 is pretty gnarly:
eah, i might buy the addon skins if they work on base G9. i agree she looks mature over 25. I thought it might be a buy but the textures are not any too special for Julia 9
Same. I joined in the G8/8.1 generation and it was the first time I really liked 3d characters (though there are some nice G3's as well) but - so far - G9s look weird to me.
What throws me right off of her is how dark her legs and feet are compared to her upper body, it's especially noticable in that first full-body promo shot. This is something that really bugs me on a lot of figures, the darker legs, but on Julia's promos it looks extra pronounced. It feels completely out of balance.
Isn't that mainly the lighting?
Character actress. Plays the heroine's best friend (or spiteful rival), the woman at the counter in the scene at the store, the doctor at the clinic, all kinds of extra roles, occasionally gets a speaking part.
Exactly. Surnamed "Meh." Can't outshine the star, and she doesn't have enough oomph to be the main antagonist.
Is it just me or does she look Barbra Streisand-inspired around the mouth? Shame about the tiny nose, though.
I like the shape of her nose...until you get to the bridge, which looks too narrow to me ;) Nothing that can't be changed, mind you, but overall the figure doesn't WOW me :P
Yes! That would be my main critique - she does not take expressions well. The majority of the pose set ones I tried on her looked off. I wondered if there's some setting I have wrong.
That's IT! I knew she was familiar just couldn't place her. Of course I remember Streisand from her early movies and vinal albums.
It uses Julia's :
the more i look a her the less i like her. there are some side products I like, especially this hair. dForce Idol and Explorer Hair for Genesis 8 and 9 | Daz 3D
I was looking at some of that computer stuff, two products, but I have a couple of those in my library already, although they are a bit different.
So, Barbra Streisand sans nose goes from Jewish American Princess to garden variety shishka?
Ok, that explains it, thanks.
I had to look 'shishka' up. The one New Yorker I went through Tech School with, focused on teaching me cuss words, not Yiddish/Jewish phrases. It might have been better for me if she had. Less demerits.
From watching waaay too much news shows, I think every shishka must be a Jewish American Princess who studies law, government, or medicine. Tough as nails, smart as a whip, and a great dresser. Works for me.

It's called the Jennifer Grey Effect.
Added some precision in my original post.
New finding : it seems the skin does not contain any nails texture, so they come up as white if you only load that texture on top of a base plain freshly loaded G9 figure. So you need to load Julia's (or presumably another character's) textures and then load the teen one. Since it requires Julia's anyway, I'll file a bug report I think.
