I just made a purchase here and as soon as I completed the transaction, the site immediately attempted to download something to my computer. Luckily our system here automatically blocks all downloads to prevent malicious intent. I made a purchase last week and this didn't happen, so what change betwseen then and now? If this is something new, perhaps it might be a good idea to inform customers of this change.

mmmm interesting same thing happened here.

this is awkward, tthe site tried to load a blnk.html document
When I clicked on the earlier banner my room fan shut off... it's probably not related, but if your appliances are rebelling I just thought I'd mention it... also because when I clicked on the new $5 off banner, the toaster binged... I was making toast... but still... very suspicious...
It's Daz trying to hack you... Be careful.

Same here, yesterday. Got a pop-up once order process was complete stating that daz3d wanted to download multiple files. Not sure what files exactly as they were blocked
Yes that happened to me and I wondered what it was. My system asked me if I wanted it and I said no. As for the Summer Sale, and build your own bundle, a whopping increase from 2.99 to 5.99 forget it.
Yes, happened to me as well. Not a good look.
Had it happen when I bought a few items earlier ....
What items have been purchased when this happens or is it everything?
Everything. Once you press "Place order" the site tries to download "blank.html" - I have set my browsers to ask for the save location, so it pops up.
Has happened with all the carts ever since it started.
I believe, it is with every order.
It's annoying, but not a big problem because you don't have to download it.
yes and sometimes several of them
blocking makes no difference
In my browser settings, I set the downloads to demand and only get the pop-up windows.
We have contacted Daz about this.
If you set all the downloads to ask for the save location, nothing gets downloaded without you knowing.
In Chrome it's; "Ask where to save each file before downloading"
Always choose the "Ask first" option, for exactly this type of situation.
Holy moly.
Myotherworld, From a safety issue this should be your minimum default setting, even if Daz is the only site you visit on that particular device because any site can be compromised.
I think the problem is on the confirmation page that comes up after making a purchase. I placed an order last night, got the pop up window to save "blank.html." I left the tab open in Firefox when I shut down my computer. This morning when I clicked that tab with the sales confirmation I got the pop up to save again.
Windows 10 Pro
Firefox 113.0.2 (64-bit)
I have had the same issue multiple times in the last 24 hours.
...not happeneing here, but then I have Chrome set to ask me for the save location..
I think I just had one of these after purchasing a few new freebies. I figured it wasn't related to DAZ and just a coincidence but looks like it was. It asked to download which I obviously refused so no biggie. I'm sure we don't need to worry about downloading a blank.html file anyway, probably just a coding issue where a blank popup gets downloaded instead or something along those lines.
Or it's an auto script that buys everything on DAZ that your bank account can handle!
This is one of the main reasons I still visit forums so thanks for the heads-up fellow Dazzers!
Take care
It's happened to me at least three times, if not more.
It happens to me everytime it completes an order. It asks to download a file called blank.html. Most times I've blocked it but this time I let it go ahead. I've got my browser set to ask where to put files so I put it in a safe place and what I got was a zero length file called blank.html.
Well, I took DAZ up on their "Andy" offer and today I received a box containing a somewhat asphyxiated Andy... it was nice DAZ shipped him overnight, but I feel it was a dangerous oversight to neglect to poke a few holes in the box so he could breathe... luckily the post office brutally kicks the hell out of all of our packages so there was enough damage to let some air inside.
Andy is not what I expected... or recognize from any terrestrial fauna textbooks...
The gills and wings were a surprise...
I placed him in a large empty tool cabinet that I used to use for smuggling pandas... but when I went to check on him he was unconscious... then I remembered the holes thing, which probably explains all the dead pandas, but with a little oxygen he came back and his tendrils (or tentacles?... What are mouth tentacles?... barbels?) were all atwitter... so I gave him a bowl of water, but apparently if whatever the hell Andy is lays in their bowl, you end up with two of them... no worries though, I took care of that... Andies apparently need a lot of seasoning and definitely should be let to marinate overnight or they are really leathery.
So don't get your Andy wet... or do if you want to eat the clone... or bud... whatever... I found out they like Cheerios... box and all...
And also there's that ear piercing, warbling shrieking sound he makes every 3 hour and 16 minutes... what's up with that?
Otherwise, it was a pretty generous and somewhat confusing offer... I'd have preferred merch like a DAZ hoodie or a coffee mug, but for some reason DAZ is the only company in this quadrant of the galaxy that doesn't sell its own official mech... like what the hell?
Any thanks I suppose...
Oh crap...
I gotta go... he gnawed through the steel cabinet and is chasing the Amazon guy...
I was wondering the same thing as the OP. I have worked really hard to stop all auto update & download attemps by windows and all other apps. But on May 30th, after I bought the Street punk Bundle and 13 other products, immediately after I checked out and the success page populated, Chrome gave me a ' wants to download all files warning' which I blocked. I always do a manual download of all purchases followed by a DIM download (don't install & don't delete after install). I proceeded to the order page to maually download the zips. None of the products zips would download. No failed message. NADA. Just chrome going green as if dowloading but a blank page populating and nothing happening. Nothing in history. Nothing in downloads. No evidence of trying to download ofter than a blank page opening. I tried redfreshing, tried closing and reopening the order. Nothing. No error messages. Just nothingness. I resolved the issue by signing out, deleting all history & cookies and signing back in. Then the manual zips downloaded without a glitch.
The downloads didn't work the first time because you told Chrome to block them from Daz.
I know. But the point was that the DAZ checkout process did something odd and peculiar. After spending enough at Daz to buy a new Corvette and after accumulating 384 library pages of products, the checkout process was different and the checkout process tried to force a download I did not request.
