I too have experienced this several times, the last one for my very recent order. Suddenly there is a notification to save blank.html.
Each time I purchase since this started, I get two attempts to download that blank html page. I just close or delete it. It is annoying and freaked me at first. I wish DAZ would get a second database to test their program updates on, instead of using the live system.
Regarding having to save your credit card data for purchase, I do not have to save mine. I try to keep my credit card data restricted to as few sites as possible. And if it wasn't for PayPal's issue with product names, I might use it for more purchases.
Maybe they fixed that card problem finally, anyway, am I allowed to say that I am unhappy with the removed paginator at the top of the shopping pages or is that speculation also
makes sorting by page pointless
and unlike skipping to the top by pressing home you cannot skip to the bottom
I end up editing the URL typing in page numbers if looking for a price range

I made purchasing of Kinley Hair with dForce https://www.daz3d.com/kinley-hair-with-dforce-for-genesis-3-and-8-females and got 2 html files when I download the hair...What The...?!
They are blank files (0 bytes, no content at all). They have been reported to Daz but theya re not doing anything, harmful or harmless.

This is not a your computer issue. This is a website issue.
Why are Daz not doing anything, they seem to download for me each time I visit the site let alone make a purchase its not a good impression of the web site.
I've had the same issue too... I initially thought my mouse/touchpad was playing up. Also, when you search for items, all the filters are blank & not selectable.
I don't have any information, but I would imagine it is a low priority since, while they are of course annoying, and potentially alarming the first time, they aren't doing any harm - being 0 byte files they aren't even using anyone's bandwidth.
I can imagine they might be "low priority" as "we don't have to work overnight and during the weekend on it", but in general, it's yet another indicator something in the store is seriously broken, springing lots of random errors: the blank html downloaded here, random pages not loading CSS, lightning deals not working for some, some pages not loading, the freebie and test messages still lingering in the inbox. All of that is random and seems to affect only portion of the users at a time, but it shows some serious underlying issue, and that issue definitely should be a high priority, because it seems to be breaking a lot of other things. Given that all the trouble seems to have started (as far as I remember) when those freebie messages first went out, it might be that whatever was updated on that day broke everything else.
Yeah... Store search which wasn't that good to start with loosing filtering, cart giving just a fraction of fixed dollar discounts, which has been happening for long without it being fixed for good, and on top of all, Official Daz person eventually coming here amongst the peasants saying, everything is fixed, when it clearly isn't, but with the post locked, we can't tell her that.
Yesterday, where before I was able to stop the downloads after purchase, the blank html files downloads happened so fast, I couldn't ever blink before they embedded into my computer. This is not acceptable.
For my part, until that problem is solved by Daz, I won't use my store credit, nor even take offered freebies. I don't care it's pretended it's safe a 0 bytes file: it's downloading on computers by itself, it's far away from normal. And it's not giving the feeling of being safe. Maybe Daz doesn't care about that, but if finally everyone acted by stopping to buy until they fix the problem, suddenly all would be quickly fixed by the Daz team.
I have a couple of those blank downloads as well, but I don't think much of it. I'ts probably a store link page thats messed up. I don't think Daz will try to hack my computer :)
...and as of this morning, some have been reporting difficulties downloading content with the IM or manually.
CDN issues and site issues are unlikely to be related.

I just want to hop in here and let you know what was happening with the download. First it should be fixed at this point so if you experience it again let us know. The recent pains Joanna mentioned above, “lots of random errors: the blank html downloaded here, random pages not loading CSS, lightning deals not working for some, some pages not loading, the freebie and test messages still lingering in the inbox.” were indeed all related to the platform update we did a couple of weeks ago. In this case the issue was simply that during the upgrade, a file that was being used to confirm analytics data had it’s content type over-written. So the browser handled the link as if it were a program.
That said the file was indeed a blank HTML file with no content whatsoever. Sorry for the confusion and alarm. I would be concerned as well if a website randomly triggered a download so I totally get how upsetting it could have been. I will keep my eyes on this thread for a day or two so if you have concerns or questions pop them here and I will try to get them answered for you.

I don't know if this is related, it isn't the blank page but it is an intermittent download oddity I've had recently. Sometimes when I click on the manual download button in my Daz library nothing happens, but if i right click the button and select open link in new tab it downloads OK. I'm using the Chrome browser on Windows 10.
I will look into that one. It sounds like it could be a similar issue.
If you are still interested in this, I tried some downloads again today and I saw something I didn't notice before. When it fails chrome briefly shows an error message up in the top bar and if I select it, it says the download was blocked because the site attempted to download multiple files automatically. It does this when I am on the page that lists each version of the product and the buton only downloads one file.
The first file I downloaded went through with just a click of the button but all subsequent downloads were blocked and I had to right click them. I tried the first one again to see it was just that item that worked but that was blocked as well.
