Hmm, do I choose the one with the fire? Or the one with the fire?
I'll go with #2. Always had a soft spot for rampaging 50-meter-tall lizards.
#2.
That vote is really a nice idea!
#2
because it is futuristic/retro and display several effects hinting at complex rendering.
maybe postwork Mothera into it instead of fighter jet ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mothra ) :-)

1. What can I say, I'm an outlier lol
In this order #3, then #4, then #1 and then #2
What would be cool is to have a layered template so we can create out own splash screen and a way to keep them in a folder so that we get random ones each time we open DS

I prefer #1 as an image but I think I would have to vote for #2 as the better fit, IMHO.
Also, it's 2023 now so you may want to update the year too :)
#2
Number 2, although I am not enthusiastic about all that fire in any of them.
#1
I like dragons
Four options. Generally like medieval best as a genre but the dragon fyre was NOT looking that convincing. Godzilla is a bit too niche and a genre, and the spacecraft fighter was least dynamic.
#3 for the composition and the quality of fire effects.
Would certainly consider choosing from four other images.
#1 for the dragon
2!
3 :)
#1 for me
It's great to be asked; let's see:
1) King Ghidorah (oops. Not KG - it's a dragon dummy - but it made me think of KG for some reason) blowing things up disaster,
2) Godzilla blowing things up disaster,
3) someone in land vehicle blowing things up disaster,
4) people flying around blowing things up disaster.
Uh, #4, I guess. Because I can pretend the disaster is on some other planet.
Anyone with Midjourney or whatever credits want to render up a scene with giant cargo cranes dropping wireframe environment props/buildings/etc into place one a wireframe serface with teams of people spray painting textures over the objects that have been placed?
Would feel more like construction instead of destruction.
Edited to correct obvious faux pax on #1.
#2
None of the above
Same, I'd much prefer it if there was an alternative splash with a less violent theme. Seems a tiny bit distasteful to me, tbh, with so many parts of the world literally up in flames right now (see, for instance, the thread Do I smell smoke? right here in this very forum ...).
#1 because Dragons
#3
Not a fan of all the fire. Would prefer some other option.
But if I had to go with only those four, the # 3. (Limited destruction & death)
Ok, I like 2 :D
