Niketa 9 pounces onto the scene
*Meow.*
Heck yeah, I'm always up for more furry content. Especially with G9, since we can morph it between genders (I'm still desperate for a 'feminine' lizard a la reptilian 6)
Most of the stuff in the bundle is useable in non-anthropormphic situations too. The neo-egyptian theme is perhaps niche (and we do have a lot of Egyptian content already), but it seems kitbashable and funky.
My only concern for others is how the figure will render on lower-end PCs, what with the fur and all. Interested to know how others go with them.

I render mostly fantasy stuff too, so I'm excited to be able to dial in just a *tiny* bit of Niketa's shape into figures to get them looking quaint and unusual. Putting a bit of muzzle onto someone always comes out well, I think. (A bit like the Dark Crystal, or at least the netflix reboot since the original was way before my time!)

Simply put, can Niketa's rig accomodate the classic lion yawn?

It doesn't seem like the pointed fingernails and toenails come separately. Might be tricky to mix.
As someone with a lower-end PC, I don't render fur, I just paint it on afterwards in post. But Niketa 9's shape lends itself well, it's recognizable as a lion without the fur. Now, if only my budget would cooperate...
I only accept animals in human clothing and with human bodies if they come from Egypt and are at least 2,000 years old. That is why I cannot say anything about this new release. But some parts of the bundles seem to be quite good; for example 'ND Celtic Jewels'.
+1!
Also: No alternate textures and patterns for the fur? Tiger stripes? Leopard spots? No mane for male leonin? Or variations for the head shape? Unless we're getting a series of catfolk in the near future, the focus here should have been maximum versatility instead of narrow-use outfits, jewelry, and weapons.
And it's competing with the HM bundle. Not a great idea to release two expensive fantasy bundles over two days.
Ooh, actually, that's a very good point. Both the previous pro bundles became cheaper the next day with "% off whole cart" offers. On the other hand, the "personal fast grab" *stacks* with the bundles in the main sale for some ridiculously cheap prices, and I'm assuming that's a one-day only thing (wouldn't it be great if there were expiry dates?) So now I have a decision to make...
Another good point on the textures. Perhaps FenixPhoenix or a similar PA will bring out some addiontal textures -- one can hope, at least!
It looks cool but I'm really disappointed that it doesn't come with a digitigrade legs option.
Definitely a shame but it's possible to seperate the moprhs from characters like Werwulf for Genesis 9 | Daz 3D though does take some work.
Another option is to use the digifeet product from R19 over at renderhub (I'd link it, but I'm not sure what the rules are. Shoot me a pm if ya'll need the link ^^)
Who sculpted this beaut?
A mane would be something I am interested in also. One of my fav bands (Battle Beast) has cover art with a futuristic warrior with a male body and lion head and mane and I always though that looked way cool and wanted a figure like that for DS.
The sculpting on the head is so good! This is an unusual addition to the gene pool and I appreciate that very much. Hopefully we will get Minotaur 9
I like Niketa 9, but the bundle content is too niche for me. I don't work in sci-fi and don't have much use for the futuristic neo-Egyptian stuff. The hair and Celtic ornaments are okay, but not enough of an incentive to buy.
This figure is right up my alley (I use a lot of anthros) and, as a refreshing change, the designer has obviously tried to make her look just as good without the fur as with.
But ... I shall try to phrase this as politely as I can ... at the moment she is just too expensive, and since I already feel that much of the G9 stuff recently has been priced at levels I consider verging on exploitative, I just can't bring myself to do it. I feel like Daz is betting they have a captive audience, and I refuse to cooperate.
If you're the mystery artist (and I'm having a lot of fun speculating on who the designer is--it doesn't look like the work of either of the people known for doing anthros around these parts), I want you to know I like your work a lot, and I hope to buy it when/if the price ever becomes more reasonable.
I guess since I buy (and sell) from the normal 3D stores, I see DAZ prices as very cheap compared to them and I am amazed DAZ is able to stay in business with how low the prices are and all the sales they have. I do understand users not having money for discretionary spending, especially these days, but PAs and staff have bills also
FYI im seeing a 30% off banner for any two items on the shop page. I had the 4 in cart (bundle and 3 new releases) and it applied to the bundle as long as it was at the top.
I just tried it on two items and it gave me one at 100% off, not going to complain about that, LOL
she looks awesome but my money needed elsewhere ... always another time/sale
Yeah, I get that. And this isn't supposed to be a thread about prices, it's about Niketa (whom, I say again, I like very much--no question there). But, without derailing TOO far: I'm a hobbyist who does not make any money from the projects I use these resources for. If I told any of my friends how much I'd spent for Daz resources in the last three years they would think I'd lost my mind. I feel like Daz is pricing with an eye toward a game-developer market with much deeper pockets than I have. I certainly do want the PAs to get paid, I respect their work a lot and depend on it, and they gotta eat--but there's definitely a big gap between what I consider reasonable to pay for intangible, digital resources and what the store sees fit to charge.
As it happens, the flash card about the GIMMIE-TWO code didn't appear until I was midway through becoming angry about the price of the Niketa pro bundle this morning, and I didn't look at it closely. When I did go back a few minutes ago, and realized that was 30% off the top for just about any two items, I re-shopped. With that plus the chained twenty percent for buying the pro bundle plus two other new releases, that got the pro bundle down from a painful eighty-three dollars to a very reasonable forty-six.
The actual applied discount over list on the pro bundle at that point, in cart, was 73% ... so that tells you something about where my price thresholds are, that it had to get to a discount that big just to get to a price I would have considered a reasonable place to have set list price to begin with.
Stop that Wendy, I have 3 days to spend 94 tokens... I need to start putting individual items into the cart....I tried that and still got tokens back...OMG stop the tokens!!!. but I also still have Daz+ coupons and days are running out.
What if there isn't another sale tomorrow!!!!!
Spent all my money yesterday on Nuns, Priest and Police but now I want to make more Cats go Kissy Kissy! and that Torment Bundle I've wanted for ages is only $5.97 but then the new 30% banner won't work and my head hursts..
not to tootle my own horn .. but for people wanting to add digitigrade legs to any shape should check out my Phenotypes: Monsters for g9. My digi legs are erc/scale based so they don't clash with most morphs. I also made handpaws for people who want that option for their furs.
Well all I have to say is... FINALLY.... lol. Finally a pro bundle that I love! I love EVERYTHING in this bundle. With my 40% discount and my $6.00 Plus coupon I was able to get the bundle for $31.54! I spent about $90.00 but I had just purchased a gift certificate at 20% off so I couldn't pass up the deal. There ARE bargains and I was willing to put forth the effort. Not sure if it will be cheaper tomorrow but I don't care. I feel like I got a great deal.
I decided to do a quick render for this thread... Both characters loaded super fast with their fur and only took about 5minutes to render. Here is Niketa 9 and her daughter sharing a hug... ENJOY!
Thanks for tootin' Lyrra... wishlisted ;)
Being cheaper is precisely why Daz is still in business. Those other content sites might sell literally a few copies of a given item, while Daz can sell a few hundred copies. Daz makes money through volume. And games. Daz learned a long time ago that turning shopping into some sort of game works extremely well with certain people. Also, don't forget Daz has a subscription system, too. So they can get people to pay extra for the right to save. So there is more to it than the sale price. To get the best possible price, you first need PC+. Nobody factors this into the equation. I am not dissing on PC+, it is a legit great value. But it is a subscription none the less. And let's not forget they have tried season passes and other wacky things at different times.
At any rate, the Daz customer base has certain expectations for pricing. Niketa is cool looking, but also very niche. It is kind of hard to justify spending more for this particular bundle on something that is so niche.
I don't have any use for Niketa 9. But like I said it is cool looking.
"Fur map presets to hide Niketa and Lahr's fur with the base Genesis 9 free outfits."
and showing an image of a male with a mane (presumably Lahr).
Also: Battle Beast = awesome. Beast In Black, too. :)
You would think it was super niche but yet it leads the way in the '"whats hot" section... i find it hard to believe unless (like myself) people just ain't buying much at all.
Speaking for myself, I've been waiting on the sidelines for days, to the point that I had tokens expire yesterday and the day before.
