EVERY new pro bundle, no matter how strange its content, tops the charts, ALWAYS. What secret mechanism is at work here? ;-)
No core character has ever not topped the charts. No matter how popular or unpopular it may be. Every core character, even the worst ones you can think of, topped the charts on release.
But do not confuse my words. I am not saying that Niketa should never have been made. Please don't think that. Niketa at the very least is something quite unique. And who knows, the simple fact that Niketa is quite unique might actually drive sales more. After all, how many Josie's can they release in one generation before people get bored? On the flip side, anybody who might be into the niches that Niketa fills could be interested.
Rather, what I am saying is that it seems odd to not push a better deal for a character that is potentially so niche. In my opinion, it makes better business sense to make a good offer when any character that is potentially less popular is released. We have had these conversations before, especially around male releases. There were a number of male releases that just felt like they were held back by the less than stellar offers around their releases. People say males don't sell, but why would they if the offers are weak for them?
Here we have a character that is unusual, why not give this character the best chance to succeed? That just makes business sense to me.
Daz also has a potential problem with their token system. If people wait for a better deal, never get it, then their tokens expire...is that a way to sell products? Tokens are double edged sword, and I have never liked the idea. Certainly not ones that expire so fast like these do. If your tokens expire, it just hits different. For me personally, tokens expiring really deflate my desire to buy for a while. Even if a good deal pops up, the feeling of lost tokens makes me less interested.
I cannot be the only person who feels that way.
It's probably passable if you stand the figure on tip-toes and scale the parts of the foot and leg? That's basically how that kind of leg works IRL anwyay.
(By scale I mean use the shaping morphs as well, not just the scale dial; for example there is a foot length morph; I am actually experimenting with it as I write this. I don't have this figure but I'm using a basic G9 and trying to catfolk its legs).
Could we hope in a "head-only" ((fading along the neck) version for the fur, to get an old-egyptian-style Sekhmet look?
Ops, wait: looking at the file list I found:
Niketa Fur Head
is this the kind of option I was refering?
I thought I'd give Niketa a try at playing some Caitians from TAS.
Fair job, but the lack of digigrade feet and the usual "belt tail" were drawbacks to this figure. Still, those issues were no worse than I've seen with other kitties.
I did find it too niche. I don't know what I'd use the character for, but then I don't tend to do human/animal hybrids ;). Most of the stuff in the store lately just makes me feel like Daz is just phone-ing it in these days. Nothing of interest. :( Only an item here and there.
Did u say "Niketa is somewhat unique?"
Here's Lahr for a big big PASS!!!
Yay... Now Niketa has a mate... https://www.daz3d.com/lahr-the-lion-hd-pro-bundle... Love everything about this Pro bundle also. MINE :)
Played with Niketa today, and she's nice but noticed that my log got too big for Windows Notepad... Anyone else seen;
WARNING: D:\DAZDevel\Hudson\HUDSON_HOME\jobs\NB_Studio_Trunk\workspace\src\sdk\include\dztarray.h(166): Index out of range in DzTArray::operator[]
Didn't start tracking down as it's almost midnight, but it comes from either Niketa or the hair I was using.
From the beginning of the log, there was 6081 lines of the same when I opened the log in Notepad++
I'm using DS 4.15.0.2 but that should not cause such a warning to appear.
All the warnings were written between finished rendering and closing DS, while DS was unresponsive for quite a while.
