...voodoo pricing.
Correct, we do get a lot of confusing ads, I try things in the cart and that statement did not apply. The extra 20% is not off of everything in the store though, AFAIK it's for the stores of the PAs who have new products being promoted.
...they need to spell things out more clearly as I lost 2 days of shopping because of it.
...hmm, not seeing the 20% discount for owning previous Golden Ticket items in the cart on items from today's Premiere Artists sale. The only discount I get is the 30% orange banner one (which does stack with the Golden Ticket one). If I add today's Golden Ticket item (which is also useless since I don't do animation due to old hardware and a lack of interest) then the prices in the cart reflect the additional 20%..
So the claim that if you already "Own" a Golden Ticket item you get the extra 20% is rather misleading as the only "older" ones that apply are the Headliner Day 2 and Day 3 ones (I put one of those in the cart and the price of what I had there dropped as well), THey need to state such things more clearly in the description. As I motioned, the day 2 & 3 ones are G9 which I haven't bothered with due to the rather hefty investment in support content required to make it useful (on a tight budget here so every purchase I make has to be somethign I'll actually use).
I also have tokens expiring at 00:00 Daz time tonight (23:00 where I am), so I just can't wait to see what tomorrow's G.T. offering is.
*sigh"
The way I always understood it is that the "golden ticket" are only the items listed as such at the time, not all the items that were golden tickets during the last two weeks, and it was stated in the sales threads here on forum that each ticket ends up being valid for only 3 days (4 in case there was a day skipped which happened, if I recall, during the weekends).
I think, though, that wording it "buyers or owners of the current golden ticket items" would make it much clearer.
...agreed. They need to explain thingsmore disticntly so there are no "unexpected surprises". KInd of takes some of the fun out of it.
...particularly when they say things like...:
[note the word I emphasised in red ,This appears at the header of the Still New Relases 40% Off, 2023 Recent Items
50% OFF¥, Feature Items 65% off and Legacy Items 80% Off promotions.]
This is pretty much a "false" statement the way it reads as again as it infers any Gold Ticket item, which would include older ones purchased before those featured on the last three days. I ran a test on each of these promos as well and never saw the additional 20%.applied without one of the 3 most recent Gold Ticket products in the cart.
This is the kind of thing that sours people on sales and purchasing products here.
...well they need to remove the word "any" from those statements as like I said it infers that any "Gold Ticket" item owned, which would mean one that was purchased at anytime since the sale started was still valid for receiving the discount which is misleading.
I'm certain I'm not the only one who didn't catch that right off the bat, and thought I was still getting the 20% because I had previously bought several Gold Ticket products. That was until I thought something seemed a bit off when I was putting things in my cart today and did a little bit of investigating and experimentation.
This is also not the first time Daz has been vague or misleading about sale requirements and every time it happens, it causes confusion.
Pirates again? Someone at DAZ must have a serious Davy jones for that genre...
....so I guess the PA sale is over? If so, That was quick, not even a "Ketchup Sale".
Guess it was a good thing I used all my tokens on Friday.
The time of simple, clear sales seems to be over again. Here we go again: 'Buy the bundle and take 2 addons to get xy% discount on this and that. At the same time, throw as many Golden Tickets ($4,99 each!) as possible into the cart to get a $0.50 discount on this and that. Hop around the biggest tree in Utah on one leg and sing the Marseillaise - and you'll get an extra bonus!'...
It still seems to be going on:

I think they are just playing pirates' habits to break the rule as a tongue-in-cheek promotion of the new bundle.
yes I got a PA item on my Wishlist 80% off that was 65% in store so Golden Ticket and owning 30 still applies
Yes, but so far there have been one or more pirate bundles for most Genesis generations. The ship looks very good* and I also like fjaa3d's outfit. Although I like Colm Jackson's characters, I can't do much with the rest. My personal taste.
EDIT: *Unfortunately, it seems to have no morphs for the sails.
What makes you think it’s over? There's nothing suggesting that on the banner or sale page...
The banner didn't display initially.
...while they are offering all the prevoius Gold Ticekt items for 4.99$, purchasing one does not grant the extra 20% discount (tested the theory again) in spite of the statement on the various sales that still claims that owners of "any" Gold Ticket get the extra discount. Please change that language to "any Headliner Gold Ticket".
Looks like I'll be saving a fes zloty's over the weekend as it looks like we won';t get a new Gold Ticket until Monday (hopefully it's something useful this time).
It describs them as Previous Golden Ticket items, it doesn't say they are current Golden Ticket items to earn the discount.
And sometimes they get a little too clever for themselves. Thanks to all the varied stacking discounts, I just paid $6.49 for the new pirate bundle...
Is Daz *that* dumb - to run a *massive* sale for only half the weekend? I'm slowly working through sale pages to pass spare moments at work, but I'm not into being rushed, so I'll just empty the cart if the sale ends. Can't think of a single sane reason this sale wouldn't run through Sunday. :|
They might have a new Golden Ticket item, which would change the terms of the current sale (i.e., current Headliner Day 3 will drop off), even if it is continued on Sunday. Keep your cart and trim it if needed.
Free gift today, huh? Looking at the list, most of those items would have been $2 or so if the sale hadn't ended prematurely. Maybe next time give me the "gift" of respecting my time and running an actual weekend-long sale instead?
...I understand but they have to stop using the word "any" in the sale promoions as "any" means all Gold Ticket items. not just the most recent 3.
...+1
Having to buy something to get a "free" item does not make it "free". It should be called a "bonus item"
Daz//Tofi really need to have people who know the difference to write these promos. as this is misleading advertising.
You are absolutely right. In this case I didn't care, because I wanted both the 'Unforgettable' articles and PW's Golden Ticket, so of course I took the 'freebie'. Maybe they should call it BOGO.
You aren't wrong. Almost as many of those on staff as Ancient Egypt fan-folks. (Which is cool.) Only a matter of time before there's a crossover mega-bundle, I daresay.
Items which were Golden Ticket items but are no longer are not included in "Any Golden Ticket Item."
I understand the possible confusion around Golden Ticket Items (it confused me too but when I added an item to my cart without owning an active Golden Ticket item, I understood the way the system works fast: my cart didn't show any discount on top of what was visible on the store page afterall and missing 20 % is usually something you see easily), but the text about the coupon seems easy enough to understand:
For that matter, BOGO would confuse me much more: I have no idea what the meaning of 'BOGO' is. I get the idea: I bought two items on another website during a BOGO sale, but I don't know that word, while I understand 'FREE' and all the limitation coming with that word when used by sales people in capital bold letters
They seem to love abbreviations in America (without explaining what they mean). 'BOGO' is Buy One Get One.
Not just the US, though in the UK it's usually written BOGOF (F for free) - probably because it sounds as if it might be rude.
