The first image I shared online (first image that was anywhere close to good enough to share)hat used DAZ content in Feb. 2005. The image was rendered in Carrara Studio 4 Pro. I made the sword, outfit, and rock. That was when I still thought I had to make some of my own content.
This is about the earliest render of mine I still have access to. It was produced from from one of the lessons in a learn-to-use-DazStudio book I'd bought somewhere around 2016 or 2017. I never actually finished going all the way through the book, and instead wound up learning from just playing with the program... though the book did help me get past the I-don't-have-ANY-idea-what-does-WHAT-in-there, paralysis-of-analysis stage.
I had done at least one render some years earlier, on Poser, using some freebie centaur-girl character I'd gotten from probably ShareCG, and which isn't on that site anymore, and which I no longer have access to the character OR the render. It's probably on one of my spare, stored HDDs somewhere, maybe one that was in one of my older NAS machines.
I really do need to see if I can find that centuar-girl render at some point. She was cute.
my early renders weren't too bad for the most part, but idk how much of an improvment I had made since then
The first render I ever did was in 2005
Rendered in Poser in 2005. This was one of the entry images, I did for a comic, called The Gem that never was done.
The map was a Freebie I did myself. The feather was made by myself as well from a picture of a feather that I found in the woods, next to my home.
The second one is from 2009 rendered in Carrara. It should show, how Mother Earth meets Technology.
The character is based on Victoria 4
Great stuff people, love what I see
If I can resurrect an old Macbook, I'll post something that'll make your renders look even more spectacular;)
New Makeup...
Our Cat Albert (my Avatar) did this to me, & this is my attempt at replicating an event where I couldn't see anything other than cat stomach. Uploaded to Rendo 15 July 2006. Character - Jim Burton's Glamorous Vickie & the Poser Cat. Rendered in an early DAZ Studio. Everything free except the character, shoes (came with character) and Cat (with Poser 4).
Regards,
Richard
I discovered DAZ while Vicky 2 was all the rage, shortly before Victoria 3 was released (2002?). I made a lot of hideous attempts, and then we went sailing - and the laptop caved under the stress of the Indian Ocean air. Lost everything. So the earliest images I can now find are dated in November 2007. Here's one! Do not laugh. I have tended to work 12-16-hour days, so every time I found more time for DAZ, I had to learn all over again, lol! Still am! ... This was a rough depiction of my daughter-in-law at Christmas.
