Thanks for the Birthday wishes!
Hope you have many more!
A bumper crop is considered a good thing, isn't it? Maybe it depends. It is defined as a larger than expected crop. I would think that's a good thing in a forum.
Thank you, peeps, for the sympathy on my shoulder. I'm sorry to hear about yours! (It's slightly better today, though. Keeping it warm for a few days seems to have helped.)
I got a headache. Just took a Motrin. I'm sitting at a Starbucks waiting for my ride to work. Maybe the ice in my drink isn't helping at all?
...the sky is falling outside in liquid form again. Temperature only in the mid 40s (F) with frozen water from the sky in the mountains to the east.
Going to be like this all next week into the beginning of the holiday week,
At least no fires here, though time to pull out the rest of the winter clothing from the back of the closet then move the Hawai'ian shirts and summer wear there until next May..
Thanksgiving on a budget: carving the turkey.
I just drew this beautiful bald lady today. Been trying to make a FilaToon character like this gal.
I think I want to name her Cassandra Nolan. Why? It was the name that just popped up in my mind when trying to give Cassandra a last name.
That turkey sculpture is a true work of art, though! I can't imagine Spam is a very forgiving medium to work with. (I've never tried it, but we have similar pressed ham products here that I like.) My latest guilty pleasure is watching bad cooking channels, like Lucy Diamond, Josh & Momma, Kay's Cooking, and one I won't name because that person needs to be taken into protective custody if it's real. It's like no, I don't feel better about my own cooking skills after watching it, because I know for a fact that I'm a rubbish cook who never makes anything from scratch like these guys at least attempt to do. They do make me feel like I should be a little more ambitious as a chef, though.
Non-complaint: Yay, my bloody nose seems to have finally stopped. Despite the ENT doctor's cauterization, it continued to ooze for a while, then bleed heavily at least once a day, through Saturday. But yesterday(Sunday) it didn't ooze, and so far today there is no indication of oozing or bleeding. Clots have been expelled. Normal "nose juice" is all I'm getting and no sinus pain. Yay! I have another scheduled appointment with the ENT doctor tomorrow(Tuesday) for followup and additional treatment if necessary. My birthday is tommorow, Oy, what a birthday season this year. I've been able to raid my savings and pay all my medical bills so far, but there will be no self-gratifying big b'day present for myself this year.
Turkey carving: Edible artistry, but next time ditch the ham, and try the real deal.
I think I want to go to bed now. Good night!
A very happy birthday to Mr. Leather Gryphon, Sir!
...great tune. Yeah, Stax records had several of the 45s including this classic.

Happy Birthday to LeatherGryphon!
And so say all of us!
Non-complaint: Re: Birthday greetings. "Aw shucks folks, I'm speechless" And I'm finally beyond the three-quarters-of-a-century hump, so It's all downhill from here. Wheee...
Dr. appointment this morning went "well". The doctor was able to poke around and make my nose ooze again. But I splurged and celebrated anyway, by UBERing (twice) so that I could food-out at a popular local breakfast cafe, then get a big take-out dish of spicy Chinese food for a couple of dinners, and grab two foot-long subs at Subway for a few lunches over the holiday. No carved SPAM for me.
I was completely complaining about the dark and cloudy day we are having. Before I could finish, I got logged off the forums.
...
...yeah an oldie but still recovering from a bit of burnout
Happy birthday!
My stomach just growled what sounded like a little tune.
I'm thinking of selling my old desktop with monitor, webcam, mouse and keyboard to my mum for $50. Is that a good deal for her?
Depends on so much.
I can get the specs of the computer when I am home.
Why charge her anything? Why not just give it to her?
I was going to give it to her, but I think she wants to buy it.
I asked if my mum wanted the computer but never mentioned selling it. She asked how much and I said 50.
It is a bad deal. You should just give it to her. But only if she wants it.
You're lucky. Mine just says, "Feed me!"
