I even still had one remaining from my first house in Florida in the '70s.  No edging left on him so I called him "Raggedy".

Some of my "needs a towel but not one of the good towels" are from my parents' first apartment, likewise in the (early) 70's. Might be thin, but they're still great for when I have to throw something down in the trunk before putting the pumpkins in, or whatever! I have some powder blue and pink ones from when I was a kid, too... Mom never threw out a towel, but I think she was pretty glad when she could offload some of her stash. That shelf in the basement was getting pretty packed.

"I am," I said to no one there. And no one heard at all, not even the chair.

Complaint: The electricity is off. I hate when that happens.

Whelp, yesterday (Monday), high was 50. Today (Tuesday night) we're in the middle of a blizzard.

    Because Minnesota.

And granted, we're two feet short of our normal snowfall, and it is only March, but still.

...  I realized today while surveying my laundry situation, that I've ruined all of my washcloths with blood stains.  Not a big deal, they were a mish-mash of sets I'd owned over the last 55 years.  Yep, I even still had one remaining from my first house in Florida in the '70s.  No edging left on him so I called him "Raggedy".  Now all of them look like squares of Dalmation pattern, especially the white ones.frown  So, I've ordered a new bundle of various washcloths from Amazon.  Wheee... shopping... t'hell with the budget.devil  I have plenty of good towels, but washcloths were getting old and thin. ...

For future reference if you have not washed them in hot water (which will 'set' the stain) you can remove blood stains with cold water and hydrogen peroxide.

Salty cold water also helps get rid of the stains if the blood is reasonably fresh and you haven't got any Hydrogen Peroxide.

    Regards,

    Richard.
