Huh, probably all of you guys with the great sale experience have bought Premier, no? Because I, being DAZ+, really don't seem to be getting such great deals. Even really old stuff, like Ant Farm's Lenore series, is still 3 or 4 bucks with a debut new item. These things must be twenty years old, items of that age range used to be on sale for under a dollar.
So am I doing something wrong or is really everything geared towards Premier now? In that case, I'll just keep not spending much I guess ...

Everything is geared towards Premier now. With Daz+ being significantly more expensive now and at the same time less attractive than it used to be, it's only normal that we Daz+ subscribers have a hard time finding really good deals. I haven't spent much during this sale either.

Agreed. Since Premier members get both bigger discounts and earn tokens twice as fast, it means the initial/stacking discounts are less to account for that, which makes me feel that the now-more-expensive Daz+ is becoming somewhat of an ugly stepchild. I spent some in this sale, but pretty much only a few door busters and odd Daz+ for a Day. The bundle offer is laughable for that price, and without extra discounts, Featured Artists selection isn't all that attractive, especially when compared to the last month. Since tokens now expire slower, I have a few, and I still haven't found any real incentive to use them.

Pretty much what I expected when they launched Premier. Now all discounts have to be set around Premier and then a lesser set for Daz+, if Daz+ get any at all (besides their base discounts) after this sale. There just isn't enough here to justify multiple tiers for very long, mostly because Daz can't offer anything to Daz+ without offering the same thing but better to Premier.

In my mind with the current pricing it is either be basic tier or premier tier. I don't see daz+ as a good option. I think 1 month of premier is better than 2 months of daz+.

    It does seem that way.

So once my Daz+ ends, I'll be a permenant basic tier person.

Which will save me good money in general as won't be buying much without discounts at all etc

  • I took the offered free month of Premier (for me it actually was a1 to 1 trade) & I am still spending very limited amounts (< $20), like usual. I grabbed 1 or 2 Doorbusters and only picked up 2-3 (super cheap) New Releases when I needed them for stacking or the mid month deal. The actual Premier perks are underwhelming. I didn't care for any of the free bundles that much. Now I did use that $10 off $25 code on a bunch last night, paid with a 30% off store credit.

Yeah, out of curiosity I've been sort of keeping track of what I would've bought if I'd been on Premier, and... it's nothing more than I've gotten already. Having a cheaper door buster or Premier for a Day or whatever is only a bargain if you would use it, and what's been on offer just hasn't interested me.

I suspect there will be a month here or there that I'll go "Gosh, wish I was premier" but for my spending habits I'd be an idiot to give up my D+ subscription paid up to 10/2026. And there's no option to upgrade for a month without sacrificing the remaining months, as far as I'm aware. (And with what a fiasco the rollout has been, I wouldn't trust it would work if it was offered anyway.) So moot point, I guess. I'll be on the "red-headed stepchild" tier for another couple years, and we'll see where Daz is at by then.

I also took up the offer for a free month of Premier in exchange for my remaining DAZ+ membership. I've put the Premier to far greater use than I ever had with my DAZ+- I've bought a lot more assets. While I was on DAZ+ I spent regularly, but it was rare that I would ever earn any tokens. When I did earn one or two, they would usually expire before I would use them. Now tokens figure prominently in my purchases. Yes, this has been very good for DAZ, but I've also cleared out most of my WL of things that I wanted but never seemed to be discounted to the point where I felt comfortable buying them. Yet, I'm still not sure I'll renew Premier. I've never been comfortable with being locked into months of membership; at least with Premier it would only be for a month.

I haven't decided what I am going to do when my Premier ends in a couple weeks. I haven't bothered downloading either the exclusive products or activating the plugins, so dropping down a tier won't "lose" me anything. Originally, I planned to definitely go back to D+ after my free month but am now considering renewing Premier at least next month. It will probably depend on what the November free bundle choices are and what the rest of the early November &/or holiday deals are. After the New Year, I still plan to take a break until at least March Madness--if that returns.

I probably would have purchased a lot more if I was premier but my Daz+ subscription is good until late April and when I checked for my "special offer" there wasn't one. If I had purchased one month of premier at full price, would I have lost all my months of Daz+? There was no explanation and i didn't want to risk it.

I really wish the BYOB deal gets new items. It's been the same for the past few days.

As far as I can see, they keep addinge new stuff - but as they add "new releases" they are excluded  from the offer.

I think I've seen some items that aren't New added as well as others removed. But it's possible the "removed" models were some I bought with other deals last week. Like others here, I skipped the BYOB because most D+ I wanted were at a lower price with stacking. It meant I didn't get the Tropical Beach but I can wait on that.

The code seems to drop each item to $2 even if you don't have 5 in cart... or at least it did a few days ago.

The BYOB already points to the whole list of Daz+ items (which is why the list is updated with new items, there's a new one released every day currently). I doubt they will add anything else.

I hate that the new promos contain so many extra items not included in the pack. Moreover, they are not listed in the Additional products used in promo images. For example:

    https://www.daz3d.com/versus--synthesis-bodysuit-for-genesis-9-add-on

    1. The sunglass,

    2. The necklaces

    3. The earrings

    4. The arm accessory

    5. The boots

    6. The Garter

    is not included.

it's just a texture set for the Bodysuit. angry  wasn't there a rule for the PAs not to do something like this in the past.

Moreover, there are Additional products but none of them point to the other items of clothing.

The main Promo picture should be you get what you see...

I don't recall such a rule. Generally from what I've seen the main promo is an art piece with the item and whatever else the promo maker wants to include to show off, and the other promos show the product and it's details.

And there have been dozens of threads on the subject of additional items used in promos and why not all are shown.

Looking over it again, while I'm not 100% sure on the gloves or the arm accessory: they, the boots, garter and sunglasses all seem to be from Linday's Breakaway outfit.

    https://www.daz3d.com/breakaway-outfit-for-genesis-8-81-and-9

The necklaces and earrings look to be from

    https://www.daz3d.com/nocturne-outfit-for-genesis-9

The car and the wall, I can't help with.

The wishlist sale is pretty good this time around. With 8 tokens and cheapest Debiut Item (XI NA Living Quarters - $2.88), You can get some Genesis 8 bundles down to below $4.

$4 for that item for D+, and alas nothing this month has inspired me to get one token, let alone 8 of them. I might play around with a cart later today anyway just to see if I can drop a thing or two below recent best.

Somewhat related... is it actually common to not have a separate room for the bedroom in an apartment? All the ones I've ever been in  have had that, but there are a LOT of sets in the store (the one mentioned above included) that just have the bed hanging out in the same space as the kitchen and living room.

The single room (bath room excluded) is called a Studio Apartment. Depending on geographical location, age of building, amenities offered in general to all occupants, they used to range from $200 - $2000.00 USD, may start now at $1500.00 and go up from there. One in a small town in the MidWest might go for the lower prices and if in a major city like New York City or London, look at $3000.00 if really upscale. A friend had one in San Francisco in 1976 and it had a kitchen, dining/living area, sleeping area, and the bathroom was tucked behind the bed's wall, along with a closet. It was in the Marina area, with pool and parking, shops on ground level, and a view of the SF Bay.

It is weird that the kitchen in X model has the bed across from it, and the dining table shoved down where the living space is. But the model does make for a good Studio Apt. in an older building or area carved out of someone's home, where things end up where they fit.

Thank you! I learned a thing today!

Looking at it again, if I did something about the window it would work really well as a basement apartment. The rather... ecclectic... wallpaper reminds me of some of the older house basements I've been in.

I think I'd move the bathroom sink on the opposite wall, though. From a plumbing standpoint it woud make more sense.

Could also be an efficiency. Lived in several back in the 70s / early 80s

When I was in the military in San Diego, California I was looking at a studio apartment just off the base about 10 miles, and it was $1800 in the mid 90's. I'd be very afraid to see what it is now. It not like we made good money in the military. We didn't even make that much in a month. You don't start making decent money till you reach the top ranks of your enlisted status. Officers start off decent, but their money goes up drastically with each increase in rank.

Yeh, but they provided food and housing; so you didn't have those major expenses. At least that is the way it was when I was in the Coast Guard in the mid 1960s.

Thanks DAZ for the Wishlist sale! I was actually able to get a few  of the more expensive PA items off my list. I could have spent a lot more, but I focused on the stuff that doesn't go on great sales very often.

In France, students usually rent a studio appartment, except when they are flat sharing (or live in their car because they aren't enough place to rent, in part 'thank' to AirBnB draining the market, the French state cutting spending in new affordable homes or some owners more willing to pay the empty appartment taxe than to deal with renters, even when the local municipalities are willing to take care of that for them).

In term of interior, the recent posh appartment was more surprising with the bathroom and toilets only separated from the rest of the space by a glass wall… Only time I saw a shower inside a studio was in the very small studio my brother rented in Paris but it was not exactly a posh studio.

If you didn't have a family you could live on the boat and have all your meals covered. If you had a family, you could get military housing at some bases, but the waiting list once you arrived could be over a year, they reduced your pay because housing was provided, and you had to pay for food for your family now. A lot of times folks had to leave their family with relatives until space would open up for them to move to the new location of their orders.
  • I don't know whether to be amused or disappointed by the fact that over 1,000 of the items in the "Build Your Own Anniversary Bundle" (five for $2 each) already cost less than $2.
