    An addition to musical instruments coming soon. A trombone made in Hex.

    @Protozoon when you model something like that in Hex do you use Lines and Surfaces? Or is it mostly starting from a cylinder and extruding?

    @JonnyRay

    Lines for "piping", then I add thickness to lines. For variable width tubes I start from a cylinder and extrude from that. I usually have an instrument at home to examine and use suitable pictures as Hex background to lay lines on.

    m_m_italy, I love the curves on the F1!

    A Cello, bow, chair and a floorstop modeled in Hexagon. Unfortunately I never learned to do UV's in it so I used UVLayout Pro. Textured in PS, SP and BS3D :)

    Great work on the Cello!  Those aren't easy shapes to make.  It would be cool to see the wireframe.

    Yes, @Protozoon does an awesome job on musical instruments!

    @m_m_italy : I really like the Formula One model. Very nicely done.

  • Protozoon, love your instuments. Hand a look on full screen and they look fantastic :)

    May I ask what software you use to make your textures ?

    Thanks!

    For textures I use Photoshop and Blacksmith 3D (the wooden body), Substance painter for metals and the rest.

    I have excellent access to references (my own cello XD).

    Hexagon is a fun app, blender makes me pull my hair out. i have sculptris but it really takes patience (but not as much as blender)

    Beautiful.
    A little advice.....
    Change the strings.
    Change the thickness (diameter - section) in relation to the note attributed to the string.
