  • Impressive. Did you make the boat ?

Hello John, no I haven't, but shouldn't be a problem to build. I just made the waves.

Finally I found some time to build again.

Thank you, I have tried many versions and this is the one I am on right now. There are so many possibilities, I am still testing.

Thanks John, I feel a bit lonely here, no people where still working with Hexagon ?

  • I think people pop in now and again, mainly when they are having problems, we all need help now and again smiley

Hope you and other Hex users have a great holiday laugh

I have not posted anything for a while, here's the armchair from a loft appartment I'm putting together.

Edit - Thanks Catherine, I managed to get your method of posting a large image to work again (bookmarked your instructions laugh)

    Hi!

All objects here are made with Hexagon:

    https://www.daz3d.com/orchestral-percussion

It's funny, the more you use Hex the less it is prone to crash.

I'll come out of lurking to say I've been following this thread in the shadows, and I've been impressed with what you do.

I use it mostly for buildings and interiors.  The first two are just shells.  The second two have full interiors.  But the bollards on #4 come from the store.

Some of the houses I've done.  The front doors were kitbashed from somewhere else, as were the shutters and garage doors on #2

  • Hi jjmainor. Very glad to see you here, very nice bulding you have created here. I'm always nosy, may I ask whet you are rendering with ?

  • So True Protozoon, I can't remember the last time Hexagon crashed on me, I think half the time it's asking it to do something stupid, the trick is to save often.

I think the houses are very well done, I always like to look at other people's work.

Hexagon doesn't like certain things, if you know what they are it runs stable, you're right Protozoon, you have to work with it a lot, then you learn to understand it. That's what makes it so appealing.

"@ jjmainor .... It's nice to see them step out of the shadows".

Thanks jjmainor, I prefer Iray, so much easier to get the look I'm after.

Look at me, I just figured out how to put text before the picture - Not bad for an old codger smiley

nice models guys, i always mean to finish some of my models. i wish i could delete my vorcha on sharecg, i really cleaned that up about a year ago. i had no idea what a mess of duplicates it was. also my version of sg daedalus had too many parts. id like to get a new pc but im still using this old 32 bit windows machine. maybe ill get around finishing that last klingon space ship i was fooling with. i cant imagine modeling some of these models with all the decks and cabins and furniture and equipment layouts. so many polis i coudnt run on my machine box view mode.
  • Just figured out how to delete a file from ShareCG. Go to your account, then click on the icon of the model you want to delete. This opens up a page with DAZ Studio Upload : Update, bottom right you'll find the Delete Option.

I'm thinking of getting a new machine myself, my son's friend want this one but I think it would be better if I just put it in the cupboard as a spare. It's a Windows 64 bit with a SSD (this stuff means nothing to an old codger like me), and 16 gb memory. The one I'm saving up for has 32 gb memory, an 8gb RTX 3060 Ti graphics card (Pre-Order Only) and Windows 11. No fancy lights etc as I've only got 1 game and that's not even installed smiley.

To keep this thread alive, here's my current project.  Don't mind the lighting, I just threw in an out-of-the-box AOE ambient light for some test renders.  And the appliances and sink in the kitchen are kitbashed from eslewhere, so they're not my models.

Still need to add light fixtures, plants in the planters, and starting to furnish as you might see in the overhead shot.

Very nice jjmainor, I really like your design, looking forward to seeing what you create next. If you need any help making the furniture let me know, I do have a couple "quick starts" like drawers you can have a look at to see how I do things.

This may not see the light of day but I just started making some accessories for a battery drill, we'll see how far I get coz I find it hard to keep myself motivated these days sad
