hey, I thought Barry's username was a motown song lyric or something
    learnt something new from Wikipedia!

Blum Blum Shub (B.B.S.) is a pseudorandom number generator proposed in 1986 by Lenore Blum, Manuel Blum and Michael Shub (Blum et al., 1986).Blum Blum Shub takes the form:where M=pq is the product of two large primes p and q. At each step of the algorithm, some output is derived from xn+1; the output is commonly either the bit parity of xn+1 or one or more of the least significant bits of xn+1.The seed x0 should be an integer that's co-prime to M (i.e. p and q are not factors of x0) and not 1 or 0.The two primes, p and q, should both be congruent to 3 (mod 4) (this guarantees that each quadratic residue has one square root which is also a quadratic residue) and gcd(φ(p-1), φ(q-1)) should be small (this makes the cycle length large). An interesting characteristic of the Blum Blum Shub generator is the possibility to calculate any xi value directly (via Euler's Theorem):where is the Carmichael function. (Here we have ).

I did indeed take my name from the mighty Mess'rs Blum, Blum and Shub, of pseudorandom fame.

The render I was going to do to explain my name involved a Tron-like setting, with a character in a multicoloured glowing bodysuit aiming a similarly styled weapon toward the screen. The slogan "Chaos in a Digital Order" across the bottom of the render. It seemed appropriate given the nature of my posts. As did the name when I first adopted it back in the mid 90s.

The render, along with many many others, is in the "Pending, probably abandoned" pile!

ARGH! They will be giving away a grand champion award to one special needs competitor at the Midwest Open Championships on November 17th - 18th. This makes meb WANT to do it! Not for the award, but more for the challenge!

if you touch the phone handset icon you get this screen which is where I presume if answered you can do video chat, but like I said, my camera faces away from me on the back so would see my feet on the table!

Yeah, if you press the call or video call button, you'll get that screen until they accept or decline the call.

I only use the text based chat in Skype. And yes Jaderail on Skype is me. So if you send a request I should get it. I have no camera or mic so the text is all I use. I have added BBS already so just send me a request folks. I keep Skype open 90% of the time.

I am totally bored off my bum. I got things I could be doing but I just do not want to do them. I could be kit bashing clothing sets for my Primitives project. I could be Smart Propping and making Mat files for Spyros Primitive Weapons set. I could be working on my RRRR Contest render. I could be setting up Enviro sets for my Primitives Project. I could be converting my Comic book characters to Genesis. I could be setting up new sets for the comic book.

As my Mother used to say, coulda, woulda, shoulda. Just got a large dose of the Bah Humbugs today.

might look in, just taking a break while my sim runs.
I was elated to find iClone spring exports as keyframed animation on Genesis fbx imports but my elation turned to dismay when I found Carrara mangles those figures.
it is one way I can get lots of clothed Genesis figures quickly in a Carrara project (without the spring and only with loaded animation)
still find the nonGenesis stuff so much easier in Carrara though.

I am fast becoming a DAZ addict - must learn to control my purchase habits otherwise I could easily spend waaay too much here (and elsewhere). But it's so much fun! :)

What means "control my purchase habits"? I even buy stuff I probably will never use or for figures I don't have, just in case.:-)

I just checked with my daughter because I thought she had put Skype on here, but she said she tried and it can't be used on this laptop.

I'm running Windows 7, 32-bit. I have IE9, Chrome, and FireFox browsers. Aspire laptop with built-in cam and mic. Any suggestions? I haven't tried d/l'ing Skype. I panic when someone tries to chat with me on FB.

My lower back went kapow an hour or so ago, so I think I'm going to bed.

I don't see why it wouldn't, but if there was a problem I'd think it would be with audio/video portion, so even so text-based chat should be fine.

I had Skype on my old pooter with no problems, and that was an old one, 6 years old and running XP, not fancy dual or quad cores or anything. We only use text based chat., you should come and join us.
