I have a 75 MBps connection which equals a 11 mbps when downloading files, with DIM I'm getting 1.0 mbps instead...On a tuesday, 9:30 PM eastern...
There must be a lot of installing going on today because my internet dl speed is 25.1 mbps and DIM shows a dl rate of 410 - 600 kb/s. I thought something was wrong with my DIM and googled my way to this page. Probably should just have searched the forums first, duh.
It is slower than dial-up for me today.
Because of the V8 launch. The server is overloaded.
Currently download a fresh install of all.
Download speed: 10-35 kb/s
I got a 110 mbit down/up-load line.
Its under all critiism how slow this is.
Pure amatures at slowness.... had it down to 239 bits per second this morning.....sometimes dropping down to 63 bits per second! WOOHOO!
Daz DIM needs a 64bit upgrade and more options. Like installing zips and meta data creation tools.
It doesn't need to be 64-bit, it doesn't handle that much data.
It should NOT be 64 bit, it will just use more ram without being faster, DIM is not slow, the DAZ servers may be slow at times, nothing DIM can do about that.
Still seems slow. I have a 125Mb (mega bit /s ) DIM is downloading at 52KB/s (or 416Kb/s) so my other 100 or so Mb/s is idle. sheesh that's less than 1% of my available throughput. You'd think with the noney they make they could upgrade their servers/infrasture, or improved peering connections.
I have a 1 GB fiber ethernet connection in the Great Lakes (midwestern US) area, and I'm getting 66 Kbs, Not Mbs, Kbs. This reminds me of dial-up speeds 20 years ago. It took over an hour to download one purchase, and I have 3 more to go. I tested my download and upload speeds on Charter's and Verizon's SpeedTest site and I'm getting over 500Mb download speeds (see attached).
.Perhaps it's time to upgrade the Commodore 64 FTP server...
