Sorry, I meant old as in long time member of the group, not as in age.
And Subdued presence is due to real life having really kicked me in the guts. 2 bereavments in the space of 2 months, the 2nd one being my other half very suddenly and unexpectedly. I am still trying to get to grips with things.

Is it just me, or are the entries dark this month? I'm having trouble seeing the details. I think my monitor is OK. Perhaps it is just artistic choice.
Somewhat. I think that everyone is trying to capture an early morning ambiance with shallow lighting which tends to make the scenes a little darker. We get spoiled with images that have perfectly lit subjects no matter what the circumstances, whereas in the real world things are often dimly lit or in shadows.
Ah, yes, I think you are right.
On my entries this is exactly the reason why the renders are a bit dark. I hate doing dark renders, because I know how darkness varies from display to display, so what on my screen looks good, may not show much of anything on the other.

Here's my first entry.
It's early morning, and you've decided to take a dip in the hotsprings near by. As you travel through the woods to the spring, you hear hauntingly beautiful singing coming from thayt direction. Carefully, you make your way to the clearing, and the spring comes into view, you behold a "goddess" bathing in the pool. How else would you describe her. That slender yet voluptuous body, long, silver hair, and, as she turns to look at you, those eyes, like pools of murcury. She looks over her shoulder at you, completely unphased, and with a seductive smirk she says,
"Care to Join Me?"

My mind works in a strange way, and so we have three Dawns in this picture. Dawn as in sunrise, Dawn as in HiveWire's girl (so she's a non-freebie as far this challenge is concerned), and Dawn as in...

You'll have to work a story out for yourself. But to give you a clue it started as your usual bunch of zombies chasing people, going through all the popular variations on the theme (mmm... brains! Monty Python gumbies* "My brain hurts!") ... etc ... when the zombies spotted the camera they did that cool slow motion walking towards the camera cliche stuff (even zombies think that looks cool) before eating the cameraman ... more variations on the theme (sort of World War Z meets Cirque Du Soleil)... a spontaneous performance of Number Of The Beast... more variations on the theme (throwing records,zombies falling in love)... and Time Warp Twist ...more variations on the theme (rat monkeys, hover mowers) ... and Dawn woke up and realized it was all a dream !

Is that a dream or a nightmare?
I remember the good old days when all the pieces were in their original position, and when the occasional Elder Beings would stop by for a snack. Those were the good old days. But that's showing my age... :D
Thank you Sigrid ! The fog's just a Z-depth / Depth-cue thingy. For DAZ Studio it'd be something like this http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/interface/panes/shader_mixer/bricks/dzdepthcuebrick/start, and in Poser it's just the Poser Atmosphere's Depth_Cue with a few extra nodes.
Definitely just a happy dream . The cameraman was actually a hamburger (you know how dreams are), and all the brains were made of strawberry flavoured jelly. And you really should have seen the zombie bunny and scorpion doll getting down to the Time Warp Twist (I think the two mummies are still twisting...)
