I think someone forgot to put in a closing bracket or semi-colon. I've done that myself more than couple of times.

Edit: oooo, specifically, today when I was mucking with DHCP's conf on my server, and forgot to add ; after declaring fixed-address and IP.

For me is mostly the "." at the end of a FQDN, like example.com. :)

I take it back. Ah Daz, you know I can't stay mad at you. :cheese:

Not as entertaining as last week when prices were spinning like icons of fruit on slot machines :)

I just downloaded and installed Zone Alarm. McAfee security scan plus says there are two antiviruses installed. Their suggestion is to buy a McAfee subscription. Zone Alarm must be an antivirus and a firewall. Is there any free utility to detect the other antivirus so I can uninstall it or what not?

Is it bad to have two antiviruses on the same machine?

Has been an issue for years between ZA and mcafee, uninstall one or the other seems to be a workaround afair Windows A/V an almost mystery to me, the machines at work have microsoft av and firewall, windows desktops all Vista here for some reason (haz clicks)

Stuff like so called security scans can throw false positives and be downright misleading, exercise caution, uninstall ZA, run the scan again and see what happens.

Melbourne is huge with a massive suburban sprawl and getting bigger every day, I'm just lucky enough to live close to where all the cheap offices are right now in the old part of town :) Did pool laps on the way home, haz big tired I guess lucky is only a 25m pool.

...here in Portland business rentals are cheap, but the market for flats and houses has become brutally tight. On average rents here are among hte highest in the nation while we are still languishing in a sluggish economy. The place I was hoping to get that was supposed to be 650$/Mo. is now 775$ + utilities. Seems when someone moves out of a place it gives the owner licence to jack up the rent to obscene levels for the next poor sap.

I really feel I am going end up homeless and on the street, even though I have a steady job that I've been in for over the last seventeen years, because of how greedy rental property owners and all those corporate management companies have become. I've seen absolute "dives" going for nearly 800$ a month plus utilities (which can easily run an additional 100 - 150$ a month).

If I'm lucky I clear maybe 1,200$ a month after all the deductions & taxes. Add to that about 120$ a month just to get to and from work every day and that doesn't leave a whole heck of lot for food & other necessities.

Heheh yeah. Super-anti-spyware thought that the Maxwell Render was a trojan when I scanned a few days ago, and years before it thought my Gameboy Advance emulator was a trojan. It pulled up several other things as malware or trojans, and a lot of them were fully harmless. Most recent installation of the program it didn't complain about most of those apps, but I was surprised to see the uninstaller for Maxwell get flagged ^_^

I think Kaspersky and Avast also flagged a few things by accident before, and it's always possible, so it really is best to check what you're deleting/removing before you do so XD

In my experience most exploits involve social engineering, a user has to say yes to something somewhere down the line. And windows users to love to be logged on as administrators, the higher the level of permissions the better so there's a lot of human intervention happening before anything a/v software can detect gets dropped.

You can look at the processes running in the task manager. A generic hoto: oops mean howto

Think Melbourne is one of the most expensive places to live in the world right now, rents are obscene (seems to me) and houses are overpriced, family size starts at around a million in my 'hood it doesn't seem right.

Process Explorer (IMO) is easier to use and read than Windows Task Manager.
It has an option to replace it entirely (Doesn't *remove* it, all it does is launch PE insead of TaskManager. Doesn't seem to work though ^_^ )

Is that a Windows native or 3rd party?

    3rd party *shrugs*

I've never had any problems with it, and most people seem to recommend it over the standard Task Manager.

ETA that sometimes Explorer will lock up, or Cinema will slow to a crawl because of me screwing with subdivisions or a simulation, and Ctrl-Alt-Delete and the F4 trick won't do anything, and Task Manager would just sit there for over an hour allegedly trying to close it. Process Explorer? Open it, click Kill Process, done. No wait at all (It does ask you if you want to stop the process first though.).

Complaint for the Day: I had such a good Idea for a render I MUST leave the forums and let Chohole pull farther ahead in post counts. First I lose a day to my illness (just bed rest) and now I'll lose another just for a multi layered render. But I must do this render, it calls to me.
