In fact accessing the CMS databse with a stand-alone version of PostgreSQL has been discussed in a couple of threads, though it's obviously not something that should be done without expertise and a pressing reason (and a full back-up).
Connect IS NOT DRM, it is just another way of installing content. I hate Connect too but it is not evil or spyware, just one more dumbed down attempt to help technophobes use Studio.
It is tied to DRM though, admittedly not especially closely.
There is?
Any idea where?
Technophobes rely on Connect?
Wait.. technophobes use computers?
Seems a hypothetical impossibility.
Technophobe seemed better than 'Simple minded Twit(ter)s'. I have no patients for the ever increasing number of computer users who take the stance, "Why should I be smart when my [insert device here] is?".
So those of us who use Smart Content are simple minded twits? Because I find it handy to have a database driven view of the content I paid a great deal of money for.. so I can spend time using that content rather than organizing it constantly or searching for it endlessly?
Thats rather a narrow minded view and a little high handed of an opinion.
Please keep the discussion civil and focussed on the topic, not other users.
Smart Content might be nice if it worked. Unfortunately, I gave up on it years ago.
