I am asking these question because the encrypted data could potentially be used as a payload to pass sensitive information.

I honestly don't see what sensitive information the word "undefined", coming from 100 different people could contain.

Also, there are so many pages to go through so I can't tell if you can set up notifications by SMS text. That would be worthwhile my setting up the browser on my computer, if I could get text notifications.

What types of notifications did you have in mind? The emails now contain all of the items that trigger the notifications, this can't fit in an SMS if there are 20-30 or more items on sale. Theoretically I could set up a page with all the triggering items on it, and just send out the link to that page. Click on link in SMS, and you get the full list, just like you would in an e-mail. (I'm just thinking aloud now. :))

Does your phone provider have an email to sms service? By this, I mean that you get an email address, such as 1234567@vodafone.com, and anything sent to that address is sent to your phone as an SMS?

I get like 500 emails a day from 8 different email addresses, so although I can put notifications on my phone, I don't. I would just like an SMS service that says: FLASH sale! Gift cards, 20% off (or whatever) and a link, perhaps, but I don't even need the link, I can find it myself, I just need to know it's happening! I suggested this to Daz at one point, but don't know if they saw it in the forums, creating an app with sale notifications...

If someone could create a mobile app for this, it would be awesome! Maybe charge a one time fee of 99 cents or something, so you can make a little money for it, or coordinate with Daz, maybe they'd pay you to do one, ya never know! :)

I see. Okay, that would be pretty hard to do in an automated way. By anyone outside of Daz, anyway.

It would be awesome if the plugin could search and show you the least expensive new release. :D

Enter "new" (without the quotation marks) in the Search Store box. Enter.

Click on the Show All box.

    Sort by Price Low-High.

Awesome! Thanks! So simple, it would have never occured to me.

Or you can use this link. ^_^

  • The mysterious blue button bug is fixed!

Chrome add-on site should now have v2.0.3 and I'm queueing up the reviews at Mozilla and Opera (again).

This release also fixes some of the email notification sign-up form hickups, so it should be a much smoother process.

    Enjoy!

  • You folks have outdone yourselves. Just now set-up my v2.0.0 after seeing "Enable wishlist notifications..." below the price history. Holy cow. I love this. After this week's paycheck clears, I'm donating.

    Excellent job.

Oh this works in Vivaldi?  Wow!   I know I said I use firefox but I also use Vivaldi

  • So glad you like it @MeatRoots! This was a fun release to work on, and one we hated to keep folks waiting on--hence the Chrome-first release this time. Firefox and Opera will come in time. Thanks again for the kudos! :)

Yep! Vivaldi very wisely punted on some hard stuff there. ;)

YAY! the blue button works now! Thank you so much for the work you put into this - i would hate to shop the store now without it :)

The new release for Chrome fixes an issue we had in the previous release, so if you signed up for the notifications before today, then please go to the options page, and click the green Save button again. You don't need to change anything. Keep your current data and checkboxes, just click on the Save button. It will resubmit the sales notifications, and best prices signups for us, which we missed in the previous release.

This will enable you to get the new sales and fastgrab notifications (this is the same thing that was available on my site before), and the best prices notifications.

The best price notification is awesome. It will send you a mail of items that have hit their lowest price in ... 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, ... you set the interval you are interested in. You can even set several intervals. It's great! I've been using it to see into the future! Well, sort of. :) Sometimes you can see the prices change even before a flash sale is announced, and you already know something is coming! :) (This works with Daz pc+ base prices, not the stacking discounts. You may be able to go even below the listed price using stacking discounts, or your own personal discounts!)

If you're not using Chrome, and the new version of the addon is not out for you yet, send me a private message if you want to use these general notifications, and I can get you set up while the new version comes out for you.

    This is so exciting! :)

  • This is cool, but in Opera at least, the wishlist items are very wide so that there's only two items per row. The boxes are mostly empty. They don't need to be that big.

I'm not sure what you mean. Can you send a screenshot?

The default Daz wishlist has only 2 items per row at smaller resolutions. There is nothing we changed there. Is that what you mean?

No. On a regular screen 1920x1080, I now only have 2 items per row in my wishlist instead of 3. Each item takes up half the width of the screen. It's kinda ridiculous.

Does it go back to 3 if you disable the wishlist notification feature? It's one of those things that I cannot reproduce. On low resolution it's 2 items per row, on HD resolution (the one you mentioned) it's 3 items per row for me, provided that the browser is running in a maximized window.

As far back as I can remember (Chrome, 1080) I'vehad the ridiculous 2 column wishlist page regardless of any addons.

I just tried on a lowres monitor where I only get 2 per row. 3 would still fit nicely. I'll see what I can do about this over the holidays.

    So. I'm a Web Developer "by day" and a daz-a-holic by...well...too often.

Consequently, I've done some developing and built an WebExtension to help me (and now you!) shop. ^_^

v2.x - loads of new features!

v1.x - upgrades to v2.x in progress (awaiting review by these browsers)

The Other Ones... (they don't do the standards...or cost $$ to publish for...)

    • Edge: ...stay tuned!...just takes some significant $$ to get in the door...
    • Safari?! IE?! ...sadly these browsers use completely custom, non-standard extension systems and are consequently beyond my reach at this point. If it's super duper important to you, let me know...

Daz Deals improves the shopping experience at http://daz3d.com/shop/ by providing:

    Options:

    • v2 sign-up for Email Notifications: Wishlist price changes, Fast Grab additions, new Promo images, "Best Price in X months," among others... ^_^

    Cart (screenshot):

    • shows percentage discounts on each product in your cart
    • shows the grand total percentage discount above the checkout button

    Bundle Pages (screenshot):

    • "fades" any contained products already owned
    • Price per unowned item is displayed above included products listing
    • v2 hide product from listing (great for Starter Bundles when you own the Pro Bundle)

    Product Pages (screenshot):

    • v2 view Product History - shows PC+ pricing over a short or long time period (see options)
    • v2 hide product from listing (don't own Vue? or Poser? You can hide those items now!)
    • adds a "Product Library" button to owned products (next to the wishlist button)
    • adds a "Read Me" link next to the SKU for the product

    Wishlist:

    • v2 sign-up for email notification on price changes to your Wishlist (links to Options)
    • v2 sync your wishlist with the email notification server
    • adds monthly PC+ coupon filters (for quickly finding something to use those on)

    Product Listings:

    • adds monthly PC+ coupon filters (for quickly finding something to use those on)

Warning: this extension may make you shop and buy more often than you'd planned. wink

I'll post here when there are updates and/or Chrome, Opera (etc) releases.

    Enjoy!

Why does this need me to give it privlages to a site I never go to e.g. civilizationhunt.com?

That's my site where you're getting the e-mail notifications and the price-history chart from. That permission allows us to receive your wishlist (if you enable that feature), so we can send you the notifications of price changes.

How would it know if I add an item to my wishlist or buy and forgot to remove it from my wishlist.

    You can do two things:

1, manually sync your wishlist after you add stuff to it, or purchase something from it. You can do this by going to the wishlist page, and clicking the blue "Sync Wishlist" button. The drawback to this is if you forget to sync your wishlist regularly, then you may get notifications for products you already have, and miss notifications for products that you have recently added to your wishlist.

2, you can enable the automatic syncing by going to the options page, then Email Notifications, and make sure the "Allow automatic update" checbox is checked. After you change this, click the green "Save" button. I recommend this second option because this will take care of everything for you automatically. If you have this enabled, then your browser will check to see if anything changed. It will know when you add or remove stuff from your wishlist, bought something or hidden something*. When anything changes, your browser will know, and automatically sync in the background. (For the more curious people we include a console log message when this happens so you can keep track of when this is happening.)

(*) It will only sync your hidden items, if you have the "Hide items" feature enabled, and you check the "This is my main browser. Sync hidden items with notification server." checkbox.

IMPORTANT! Please don't give us your Daz login details! NEVER! We have our own! :)

The notification uses a different set of email + passcode verification, that is specific to the notifications. The data you enter on the options page is NOT your Daz login data! Never give us your Daz login data! (Or anyone else.)

If you don't know what to enter on the options page, then please click on the "Need a passcode? Signup!" link, and follow the instructions. We will give you a numeric passcode to use. This has nothing to do with your Daz login data! Never enter your Daz login data on the options page! A, we don't need that; B, it won't work anyway. Only the one we give you will work!

Never give us your Daz login details!

Sign up first, then you'll have the passcode you need to enter on the options page. Use that, along with the email address you signed up with. And only that. Not your Daz login details!

Oh, and did I mention to please NEVER give us your Daz login details? :)

  • @Ati  I tried signing up and was never sent an email with a passcode.  Checked spam, checked other folders just in case, no email.  Tried it again with the same email, nothing.  Can I use a different email from the one I use for DAZ?  It sounds like yes, but I just want to make sure.  I have another email I can use in case gmail has problems.

Absolutely! You can use any email address you want. Well, as long as it's yours. :)

But gmail shouldn't have issues, I use a gmail address as well. I'll send you a private message, stand by.

That's the release date for new items script, trying to get the release date of the items from docs.daz3d.com. If you would like to use that script, you need to allow it to access the Daz documentation.

This was actually easier to do than I thought it would be. I sent @Overdrawn this feature to take a look at. I can't actually test on an HD monitor during the holidays, so I hope he has access to a normal resolution monitor to see how it looks with up to 4 columns. 4 columns were okay even on my lowres "holiday-monitor", so lowres looks fine, I'm guessing it looks okay in highres, too.

The feature will allow you to set the wishlist page to display 2, 3 or 4 columns, regardless of the screen resolution.
