Hansmar : Vibrant colours and reflection ! great abstract.

StuartB : Very nice phones !  The tree is very beautiful.

Horo : A cool series of terrain renders and the anaglyphs are awesome.

Jamahoney - thank you Jay. The camera is looking up to the rocks you want to climb up.

    c-ram - thank you Marco.

StuartB - thank you; c-ram is probably right that it is a Speedtree, it looks awesome. I like the addition of Bryce on the smart phone.

mermaid - thank you. When i made the Sponza renders I wasn't clever enough to change the materials. I just checked the source file (v3) and was horrified to see that I have a dot for bump but it's at 0. And there's specularity but specular is black. So yes, the original materials were used.

    adbc - thank you.

    Thanks abdc.

@Horo. Yeah, they do make really nice trees.

    One of my favorite aircraft.

Added the lens flare with photoshop.

May be a bit strong though.

StuartB - Vulkans above the mist and clouds look great. I'm not much a fan of Photoshop lens flares and hate the real ones that look completely different. This is just a remark, not a critique.

  • StuartBStuartB Posts: 596

Yeah, I was in two minds about applying it, I don't mind a little bit, but I think I over did it on this one.

StuartB beautiful render, I like the POV, I use lens flares alot for sci-fi Photoshop artwork, but never used them with a Bryce render.

Another Sponza Palace render and an Anaglyph using the ALS.  I still don’t know the cause of the long render for my first attempt, and I’m still not getting nice shadows even after trying multiple lights. For this one I used global ambience for the lighting as the material as Diffuse and Ambience set to 100; the Atmosphere off and the sun disabled, Premium render 256 rpps, TA and the anaglyph was regular render.

mermaid - the anaglyph looks great, really. I think the shadow problem may come from Ambience > 0 if Ambient is not black. My default is global ambience white and setting ambience (if any) for the objects individually. I usually use ambience only for self-shining objects like fire or a light bulp. What happens if you set global ambience to black? For indoors you can also try a TA render or a white HDRI from inside with and without shadow casting. But those would need diffusion, not ambience.

Thanks Horo for you comments. I tried setting the Global Ambient to black and end up with a very dark scene, although I have many light sources, but no real shadows. There is something I'm doing wrong, something stupid which I cannot see.  laugh Maybe I should delete more meshes and then set all the ambience for the material to Zero. Anyway will give this a rest for now, and play with the warped terrain pdf this week. Thanks once again for the pdf. yes

Thanks mermaid. That anaglyph turned out really good.

mermaid - I just uploaded the updated 6-page version of the Warped Terrain PDF. You can send me your Sponza scene if you have a means to do so. Maybe can can find what's going wrong.

StuartB : nice render, awesome view from above the clouds.

    mermaid : great anaglyph.

    Thanks adbc

Mermaid, adbc: thanks; I love the colours too.

StuartB: very nice phone; better with Bryce, of course. And a wonderful tree, you found there. He must have tried to hit over the tree? I guess the golf ball is a bit big, compared to what I think the size of the tree must be. But great idea and beautifully rendered. Marvelous sky-aircraft render too.

Thanks, Horo. Love your warped terrains. Should try them sometimes. And your texturing is great (as usual).

Mermaid: The Sponza palace looks wonderful, but indeed still a bit lack of shadows.

Thanks very much Hansmar. I agree about the size of the golf ball, I tried it a bit smaller but you could'nt really see it.

Just a test render in Bryce to see how the Sketchup mannequins will work in a shop scene.  All the models are from Sketchup Warehouse.  The hanging shelves with plants underneath is not part of the actual empty building.  I placed that afterwards.  I was specifically looking for shelves with chains to place lying mannequins on.

Mach25: wonderful render. Great visualisation of the poem.

StuartB: I think you are right. Seeing the ball would be much more difficult if it was seriously smaller.

Launok: Test succeeded! The mannequins work very nicely and the whole scene is very nice.

adbc: beautiful abstract. Looks like some devils are trying to tear the figures in the middle apart.

I started making clouds in geometric forms (like tori) and ended up making a strange background for two dragons, playing dragonball. I used a tilted fully reflective cylinder for some effect and a full 360 degree panoramic render.

    Thanks StuartB, Adbc Hansmar

Mach25 – beautiful render, lovely colors.

    Launok – lovely boutique.

    Adbc – wow awesome abstract.

Horo – thanks a ton for the offer, I intended to send the file to you when I sent the Google search, but it was too big for my email and I don’t have other means like Dropbox. Although I said I will give it a rest for now, I worked more with the model this weekend and uploaded different views on my Pinterest; however without much success where shadows are concerned. https://www.pinterest.com/maryole3/interiors-rendered-in-bryce-3d/

Here are two more anaglyphs, one protruding which I feel is a bit flawed because the bottom and top of the pillar clip the frame, and the 2nd one receding, using the ALS. I like both effects smiley

Oooh, Mermaid...while the protruding one is excellent, the receading one looks waaay cooler on effects and depth cool

memaid - cool anaglyphs, I also love both though the second is better because the column doesn't protrude and hit the image frame. But the first is surprisingly not irritating.
About the file: since you use the "default" material on Sponza, I don't need it. Select the whole Sponza mesh and save the matrix (alt+c). Then delete it and create a cube, then paste the matrix (alt+v). Keep the lights you've placed. Tell me how the camera is set. That file will be small and I can just alt+c the cube, delete it, get the Sponza from my library and alt-v it into the scene. I ought to get exactly your scene if I adjust the camera. Just an idea ...
