Thanks! Mainly experimenting with the new PBR shader, but it's fun to revisit these Genesis 3 figures.

One more go at Yennefer of Vengerberg. I think it's a little closer, but still a challenge with her face.

    She's gorgeous, Lebioda be praised!!

  • Quen.

I like the liquid shield prop, but it's a little messy here.

  • And... Yennefer again.

The CDPR version is just so hard for me to capture in Daz.

Looks good to me, as does Geralt....  'Liquid shield prop, huh, must have missed that one...

In my own attempt waaay back then, I used a sphere-prop with an additional geometry-shell. The sphere had a texture from rawart's 'Raw Energy Effects' applied and was set as a (low intensity) emitter, the shell had the thin water shader setting applied. (the image is a re-render of a smal part of that old scene with most of the props / scenery deleted).

Well, it's about capturing the 'essence' of Yenn.  Ans she does have that 'don't even think about it' feel over her..... (And remember, stay away from Oak beds when Yenn is around; it may provoke some adverse reaction from her... cheeky

Do we really wanna know???winkdevilcheeky  I dunno, what's Yenn's obsession with Unicorns anyway..... surely not that Geralt is 'lacking' something somewhere.... angel

Ah, the good ol' sphere. That's a smart concept, and primitives are vastly under-used IMO.

    ...

I found the Liquid Shield prop. It's actually in "Liquid Pack" from JoLab's stuff. Aside from demoic hordes, JoLab has a rather useful liquid shapes product, including morphing planar objects for ripples on the surface of water. It's old enough that it only comes in 3DL flavors, but I throw all sorts of Iray shaders onto the props.

  • As for the unicorn, I think Yennefer is as monogamous as Geralt. :D

Did you buy the School of the Viper armor diagrams from Visemir's old flame? Probably my favorite looking Witcher armor set.

@The_Blurst_of_Times I am really enjoying the images of your 8.1 character conversions, very nice work. Thanks for sharing those!

i dont remember the viper armor.  i remember getting the swords scourging the treasures for emeralds.

i won the novingra gwent tournament.     i wasnt believing the hortensia guy.  geralt was funny, which one is hortenzia.  lol

had to get the cards from zoltan's quest to get better cards.

reloaded twice.  lost a round to the hobbit and to sasha.  reloading deals a different hand.  slightly bette cards came up after reload.

    what were your favorite quests?

the arena one with the ghost in skelliga, the guy who never won, was cute and funny.

i let the succubus live.  let sarah live in peace with the dream lady.  never caught the dopler in the chase.

won the card from the spy guy from witcher 1.  won card from Roche.
the skoiatel elf south of novingrad, he was like, deadpan, 'you have no one else to play with'

didnt score the pass to cross the bridge to novingrad.  i swam for it, and fasttravel across tween velen and novingrad.

helped Yen with the genie quest.  it gives the option to still love her, or tell her the feeling is gone.

my favorite ending is for yennifer to move in. and the unicorn. lol. i like ceri for empress. cause she'd prolly not be into war.

i want anna henrietta to live, but i don't  like his vampire friend to have to leave. dunno if can have both.
i have no sympathy for olgierd.

the ghost in the shani quest was a lotta fun

Congrats on the gwent tourny and having a great adventure! I never was much of a card player as Geralt.

There are so many favorite moments for me in the witcher series. I love the action, I really enjoyed avenging Vesemir by taking out Imlerith, and the final battle with the Wild Hunt. Fighting vampires through the streets of Beauclair was awesome. My first play thru of Hearts Of Stone I had an epic fight with Olgierd. (I was under leveled LOL). I love the humorous quests but anything with Zoltan, Vesemir, Triss, Shanni, or Vess, are my most favs. Such a great game experience.

I guess, for me, there are 2 moments in the game that really stand-out. There are indeed many great moments, even when playing the game for the gazilliion time. But these 2 are what I consider the scenes that have the most emotional impact; entering the cabin on the island of mists, and Vesemirs sacrifice.... still give me the chills when I replay the games - or hear the song....

    Death Of A Ponytail

Wellllll, there are some barbering techniques that require the use of fire cheeky, so I'd say that Wyvern is just re-styling the ponytail wink

I have only played through W3 once.  I am waiting for the upcoming upgrade for my next play-through.  Maybe the second time, I will choose Triss instead of Yen.  My favorite scenes/questsare: the Yen sex scenes, the Ciri scenes where she has the teleport power, On Thin Ice (the battle against the Wild Hunt), Storm the Castle/Night of the Long Fangs (Toussaint battle), and Land of a Thousand Fables (where Geralt rescues Syanna from the Story Book).  I like Blood and Wine, as it is nice to play someone who is respected and appreciated rather than spat upon.

Now I am trying to finish Assassin's Creed Odyssey, a game that is almost W3's equal.

W3's music is awesome, especially in Toussaint and Skellige.

the first time i turned in the arsonist. i usually take the bribe.  i let triss kill the spy in the hut.  i never let W.Jr go.

the great balls of granite a funny one.

    And the official news: https://thewitcher.com/en/news/32792/the-witcher-3-wild-hunt-is-coming-to-the-next-generation

2nd half of 2021 probably means that if we are very, very lucky, it will be available in december (but I'm not holding my breath for it.......)

It's still vague, esp.considering the hardware requirements (for PC in my case). I'm a bit worried that the best parts might be for RTX 30 series cards (and I've got a 2080ti); but then, I bet CDPR also has to take its clients using AMD GPU's into consideration......

December 2021!!  I am hoping July or August.  Maybe I will play WItcher 2 and select the Iorveth path instead of Vernon Roche, until then...

  • Well... CDPR fumbled it with Cyberpunk, which was somewhat unexpected. (I mean, not everyone is Bethesda with their epic terribad releases that eventually become good.)

They can't mess up the Witcher, though.

I really should  install Witcher 3 on my PC and mod it. I've played it on Xbox already... or maybe I'll play Witcher 2 again.
