piece from last year reworked to the skin of it's teeth

Nice result, I have reworked a few of my old renders, although I tend to set up a mini-scene when I am experimenting.

well I made some custom Photo Donut filters and they hang so while they were busy hanging I started this one off with Filter Forge then went onto PD layter

amusingly I forgot I was a wtarecolourist in a past life so I am bringing those skills to the digital table

eg bringing back the white at the end - to show the paper underneath the colour - nose cheecks and upper chest plus highlights on boots

Below back to school PD filter with some tone mapping in affinity - toon!pro pass overlayed to bring back some edges

last on is Carrara Photonmap overlaid on above image to bring some details back

Keep forgetting the Photonmap, nice render !

    Excellent !!!

FotoSketcher is what got me interested in NPR, still gives superb results, and it's a freebie as well.

Hmmm, King Monkey with a studded club - who might that be ?

Very nice work once again. Is the grunge look a filter or a layer in your process ?

ha ha yes I hadnt thought about the club ramifications !

the grunge is layer upon layer of ron's water colour brsuhes used both as paint brsuhes and erases - plus PD filters

    :)

    Continuing the colourful Alien saga....

great to see a narrative unfolding - you should make a book in the end!

Cap'n Flintlock (late of his Majesty's navy) with his mate Jack the Norwegian Macaw (the yellow thing on his shoulder).

Flintlock's bad case of pistol droop (seen on the right of this picture) started about the time of his nasty accident - when his ship blew up three miles off  the  Porto Bello circa August 1688.

Pistol droop is a bad problem for many sailors of course, but it's particularly bad for Flintlock because he keeps shooting an inch or two off his stump after he's had a few rums - especially on Sundays after church; and that's an especial nuisance because the local hardware shop doesn't open to 7.00 am on Monday mornings.

Before I got started in Carrara, I would make an Alien head morph in that other software that they have to give away for free, make a background in Bryce, then combine the two renders in PaintShopPro. Doing a bit more advanced work in Carrara.

    images from the present challenge

"The Death of Mavis, the Last Genetically Modified Gigantoraptor - Killed Accidentally by Cedric The Sous-Wizard While Eating Breakfast"

Backstory: Well, this is Bruce The Wizard's brother, Cedric the Sous-Wizard (note his Sous-Wizard hat having only one round thingy on the top). Cedric is a lousy cook so, seven months ago, he was sent out to the family Dinosaur Zoo farm to look after the Giant Yellow Bellied Pseudopod's.

It's a long story and doesn't have a happy ending, so we'll go there first ( Wolf Hall is about to start on the Televish and I need to know what happens to Anne Boleyn, now that Thomas More has had the axe).

Cedric being more than kind, shares his cooking with an unsuspecting Mavis who is allergic to French unpasteurised Goat's cheese. Mavis, suffers a cataclysmic analyphylactic reaction to her right kidney and dies within three minutes.

Lucky it's a Monday, and the Dino Zoo is not open to the public.

Cedric has 18 hours, fifteen minutes and twelve seconds to hide the body. Wish him luck....

Agree with Stezza.  You are really on a roll.  Surfing must stimulate those create juices. :)

Did Alberto's plugin reduce the file size much?
