Yeah, I didn't expect a lot of people to be super interested in transfers to G1/2,but it's not that much extra work to add. Or at least it didn't seem like that much until I had to do it.

If it was only me I would add Millennium 3 and 4.

But Genesis support is already wonderful because the core Millennium figures were brought to Genesis.

If your script transfers the JCM's (and I recall it does), then it will have some advantages when going fom G1 to G8, since GenX only moves the main morph shape.

  • Excited! Would buy or donate. Thanks for spending time working on this. If I missed something and there's a donate page, let me know, thanks!

I haven't been taking donations, though I've been tempted. I think donations would make me lazy. :)

Yes, the main motivation for all the work I've been doing was, originally, to preserve JCMs/MCMs/and other ERC links. There's still a bit of work left for that (It works between G3 and G8 simply because there's nothing it really needs to do) but the capability exists. I just need to tell the script to use the existing files to rewrite the JCM data to deal the changed skeletons. Currently it only rewrites the bone data for rigging adjustments but making the JCMs work for all supported figures is just a matter of connecting a few more dots. The script already supports the same operations for expressions. Getting it working JCMs and pose controls is on the todo list.

I'm not trying to rush. Indeed, things may be a bit slower than hoped with the holiday, and my being pretty sick. Still, I'm very close, now. So I might be feeling a desire to rush.

I just got a question: It will work only one way or it will allow us to exchange shapes among all the Genesis figures? For example, it will bring a G8 chars to G1?

  • It works both ways. Or, it will once all the bugs are out. As of now, the only bug reports I have are for transfers to G3/8. All of my tests transfering to G1/2 were successful. At the end, all of my tests were sucessful, but I am looking into issues reported by a tester with a transfer from G1. I know where the script is failing in the tester's transfer, but I don't yet know why. I've been very sick since the 20th, and my fever only broke on the 25th. I'll be looking into the issue today. I don't expect it to change anything. After I track down and correct the problem, the script should still work both ways

    It works both ways.

*Jams credit card in the screen*

It's an instabuy for me, whatever price it will have! laugh

  • Very excited, and hope you're feeling better!

  • Definitely sounds like an insta buy. There are vendors that would have turned this into 6 different products.

I am soooo looking forward to this, but what's more, I hope you are feeling better. Don't overdo... :)

  • I am feeling better, thank you all.

Several days ago, I discovered a game-breaking problem in the script's method. It only seriously impacts Genesis, but it impacts both Genesis and G2. I've been furiously thinking about the problem, and exploring options. And I think I has the Solution! That is, I've taken dummy data, and run the process on it, and so far I'm getting the right answers back. Hopefully, by Saturday I will have demoed the fix and by Tuesday have it applied to all seven figures.

So how is your script coming along? I'm looking forward to mixing and matching morphs from different generations, including Genesis 8!

  • The new concept seems to work, but the detailed numbers are off. I think I know what I'm doing wrong. Unfortunately, it's been really cold here and everything's ben closed for one reason or another, so it'll be a few more days before I know for sure if it really works.

Thanks for keeping us in the loop! Stay warm!

  • My laptop fell in the library and the screen is busted. I haven't lost the data, it seems. That's still there. But I can't work on the script any longer. Not sure what to do from here.

Man, that is terrible news. I'm sure with as much interest as there is in this script that if everyone sent you a dollar you would have enough for a new laptop, got a paypal account?

    Yes, got PayPal?

Yeah, I have PayPal. It's my email if you have it, if not pm me. I haven't given up. I just don't have much of a plan right this minute. It still boots, and I can see part of the screen. Well, could see. Cracked lcd could fail completely at any time. But I forgot to integrity test the data disk. I was so upset I forgot the system disk is ssd and wouldn't be hurt by a fall. I really won't know if the data is good until tomorrow.

  • Does the laptop have a VGA or HDMI out you plug into an external monitor for now?

Yes, you should be able to plug it into any old monitor, or an hdmi socket on your tv.

  • Homeless. External monitors are not a practical option. I have to carry the laptop everywhere as it is. I doubt an external monitor would fare better. Also, homelessness means no place to get a package containing anything bigger than a cellphone. Anything I get, It needs to be in walking or bus distance. Makes "portable" monitors unlikely, as options go. If any option does meet all that, it's got to be tough enough and sized right to fit in my backpack.

Sorry, I didn't realize you were in that situation.

  • No worries. I don't expect everyone to know. I am sorry if that came across as criticism. I just want to be clear about the problems I need to solve. I forgot to mention, I did integrity check the data drive. All partitions are present and accounted for. The damage to the screen hasn't spread, so I can still see half of it. Not enough to work with, as I need to model a bunch of stuff assuming the solution I have actually works. I can't run blender on less than half a 15.6" screen that can fail any time. I hope to, at least find a way to get a new screen, or find a compatible case that has been down checked. Still not sure, as this town shuts down on Sunday. I'll basically be offline for the day in half an hour. I can check mail and stuff after 4, but after 5 getting online can get me kicked out of the shelter.

That's a very good thought yes. I just made with a small paypal contribution and hope that few other will do the same.

By the way the script is really awsome so far and worth waiting for.
