I have Malwarebytes installed and running. But I've made a few assumptions in my config. I have my DIM download directory excluded, as only DIM puts anything into it. I also have my 32 bit and 64 bit directories as defined in DIM excluded from scans - as the only files that go in there are downloaded and installed by DIM. So - no problem with the download and install today.
I have Malwarebytes (the paid-for version) and had no problem installing. However, I did use DIM and not the manual download.
Thank you I appreciate that :)
Assurance that the developers of DAZ Studio plugins aren't going to suddenly die so that DAZ can be sure to be able to rewrite the SDK and not have favorite plugins not work.
Thanks Richard. That link got me there.
Are there any updates in the companion files that we'll need as well? I did see that GoZ and the Photoshop Bridge are now identified as being for 4.10, but didn't tink there were liekely to be changes to any of the others.
A major change in the SDK that would break existing things. Upgrading the version of Qt (the library DS UI is based on) could be a good candidate, for example.
I was trying to use DIM...didn't work. I had to turn off Malwarebytes temporarily so that it would install thru DIM. First time EVER I've had Malwarebytes have a problem with a piece of software I regularly use.

..yeah I find it just a little more than frustrating. I checked the MB log and it hasn't blocked or quarantined anything. Neither am I getting a warning from my primary AV. Definitely not going to trust the bare Windows firewall to protect my system.
The daz plug-ins should always be updated at the same tiem as DS (make sure DS has finished isntalling before isntalling the Dynamic Clothing Control plug-in, if you have it - OptiTex iss till supported in DS). Theer should be a new dForce Starter Essentials in the content, whether anything else needs updating depends on when you last downloaded - that is of course the drawback of manual installs.
...is there any other way around the situation I am running into? The only way for me to disable the free version of MB is to completely uninstall it which is a bit extreme.
You can't right-click the taskbar icon and do it that way? Even if you don't have that option, you can always open task manager and End Task on Malwarebytes. No need to uninstall it.
Laurie
Thanks. I didn't think that I'd need to update any of the Genesis Starter essentials packs, or the tutorial content. But safer to ask.
The free version of Malware Bytes, assunming it isn't running in the demo of pro as mine is following a recent update, is passive, on-demand only - if it isn't open it won't do anything.
Me too I have had no problems all working fine.
Edited to fix quote
..OK not on the taskbar. What is the name in Task Manager? The only ones that I see which begin with "'m" are "mcrdsv" and "msmsgs".
I'm sorry...I meant the system tray, where your volume adjuster and stuff like that is. It should be there. Even the free version. If it's not, open the task manager and look for Malwarebytes or mbam under Processes....

feel crazy asking but when i open simulation tab in daz 4.10 ans click simulate it says no valid open cl 1.2 .... how i install that im running windows 7 ... thank you
OMG! Mind == BLOWN! Thanks Daz for making sure I do absolutely nothing productive and waste the next 5 days playing with this new shiny! Awesomeness. Even on day 1, freshly "out of the box", even if there are problems, that this is included for free in Studio is mind-blowingly amazing. There are <ahem> other locations selling similar products for like $30 - $40 (and I had at one time strongly considered purchasing that product: VWD). So thanks * 1000 for including this. And it'll only get better as time goes by.
Did something about the install of the new version change,...or is my new machine just that fast? I went to DIM and started the downloads. For a second or two I saw it installing the C++ re-distributables,...and that was it. I waited, thinking it would uninstall the old vesion, but there was nothing. After a little bit, I notice that my program icon had changed. I was a little afraid to open it, because I expected the rest of the installer to come up. But t finally clicked and the program opened and it seems like I was updated. Never had one like that before.
I hope we’ll see some men’s clothing and perhaps some useful items using this product like ties and blankets and such...
...doesn't appear there and no "mbam" listed in Task Manager/Processes.
The only AV that shows in the system tray is my primary one and like I mentioned, not going to turn that off and risk an infection.
DIM thinks I have 4.10 already installed, but my Daz is still at 4.9.
I also have the Beta Public Build installed, and that is at 4.10... so I don't NEED to necessarily update Daz if I run the Beta build.
Sadly....mine doesn't work. I get an error message about building kernels and then Daz crashes.
Did you allow it to building kernels, and then it crashed? Or does the message come up and then crash before you can give permission? That information could be important to tech support.
Thank you and congrats on the great work.
It starts to build then Daz Studio crashes...the build goes on...but it never really builds....so far I let it go 15 minutes with no results.
And you verified you have OpenCL1.2 installed?
I am torn. I want to play with this but I also like VWD. It's cool if you can have both but it's been reported on another forum that the 4.10 beta broke the VWD bridge. At this point, until I know that can be resolved, I'm keeping VWD and waiting on dForce. Hopefully it gets sorted soon. I may like dForce better if I give it a chance but I don't want to do so at the expense of VWD and then find it's not preferred.
hope the VWD issue can be fixed as their new gravity simulations using the GPU looks great
I only recently got VWD and the Bridge. I'm having fun with dForce, but now I'm really glad I kept the 4.9 release installed. I'll just keep using the 4.10 beta for dForce. So best of both worlds.
