No, no, no... don't worry, I was just being silly. I certainly didn't take any offense. =) It takes a heck of a lot more than that to get under my fur, and certainly a lot more than any online forums can do. My sense of humor is sometimes a little wonky, LOL.

    That's good to know!

Why does finding the links always have to be more of a headache than working on the render. Plus, Daz 4.6 seems to rendering things far darker than 4.5 did. Anyways, this was a lot of fun. Went through a few different versions in my head before getting this one. A little iffy on the rules for the Anime Star Fighter since it's in the freebie section and I got it last year but it now requires another purchase. Regardless, I've got room for another paid item if it comes down to that.

Ah, the days when you needed a helmet because there's no air in space, but you could get away with exposed skin...

As for the Anime Star Fighter, I believe the highlighted part of Rule 7 applies: "For an item to be considered free it must be offered as a freebie for the whole of the month. The exception to this rule is all Daz weekly freebies will be allowed throughout the entire month in which they are free. All permanent Daz freebies will be allowed at any time." You're good to go!

    So:

Just a reminder - the "Crossover" Mini-Contest is at the halfway point, and we only have two entries so far!

Who will get that $15 gift card? Will it be Dorseyland? Will it be Lord Ganthor? Or maybe you could win ... but you have to enter before the end of Friday!

same thing happened to me last December..... just can't believe people don't want a GC. I haven't gotten my runtime loaded yet so I am renderless at the moment.

Oh no! A slugfest between me and Dorsey? Horrors!! I guess I won't know the outcome until next Tuesday at best as I'm going out of town for a few days and will be computer-less and cut off from the 21st century for a while. I'm going back to the 18th century for a few days of escape before living in this time drives me mad...uh, madder than I already am at any rate.

Looks good (even though I can't seem to get a complete download of the zip for the Buntline - it always dies on the walnut texture, but that's the last file in the zip).

Back to the flying car discussion...

It looks like we might actually be getting some flying cars in the not-too-distant future, assuming Terrafugia's third prototype holds up in testing. But it's their still-in-early-phase second-generation vehicle that I suspect most people think of when they hear the phrase "flying car"...

I saw the video attached to the recent article on The Register, and my first thought was, "I wonder if that model is in OBJ format?"

" ... a full-on Jetsons style flying car. The TF-X, expected in 'eight to twelve years' ... It can take off and land vertically. Anyone can fly it, as it doesn't need piloting as such: you simply tell it where to fly to and it does the rest."

Eight years from now (2021) will be 93 years after Popular Mechanics first published a prediction that we would have flying cars in the "future", though that future seemed closer than the one we're living in. A 1951 cover with a personal gyrocopter (pictured) suggests that the future was close enough that "we" were depicted still wearing fedoras.

Link to PopMech below looks at various starry-eyed expectations -- "flying cars and jet packs (as predicted in 1928 and 1964), our clothes are made of milk (as we forecast in 1929), our foods are fortified with grass (1940), and our mail is sorted by robots ... "
