Thanks @Llynara. I got sick a couple days after Christmas so missed New Years Eve and am STILL sick! Horrible cough, asthma, just started antibiotics. When I went to the doctor, she coughed in my face! Everyone seems to be sick in LA and it was 70/80 degrees until a few days ago.Raining yesterday and today. Sorry, so OT here, but I discovered something cool because of this: Himalayan Pink Salt lamps! (Available on Amazon.) Great for people who spend a lot of time in front of the computer. They are gorgeous and help remove EMFs...
Errrr. Antibiotics with a viral infection?
There is a real nasty bug running around right now. Yes it needs antibiotics. Took me about 5 days to get over it. First time I had missed work in eight years lol.
I caught something for the 1st time since May 2009 when a tick bite infected me for 2 long fever chilled shivering weeks (not counting pathogens in nasty meat, eggs, and dairy products I have had to since give up when they caused making me consistently sick). This must be a doozy of a virus because I caught it just walking around in WalMart and Lowe's.
Yeah, I have bronchitis and the first thing I researched was treatments - and antibiotics aren't really helpful for viral infections.
Antibiotics are medicines used to treat infections caused by bacteria. Antibiotics don't work against infections caused by viruses, such as colds and flu. So there's no point taking antibiotics to treat a cold or flu, and no point asking your doctor to prescribe them for a cold or flu.
It is because doctors and GPs are wrongly prescribing antibiotics that treatment resistant infections are evovling.

Ok, so I've kept playing with this character. Given that I owe almost no G8 content, I purchased RareStone's Face Morphs Collection for Genesis 8 Female (which are amazing) and tried to build a character using the G8 female as a base, then adding Sakura + the free anime head + playing with RS Morphs... and now it's very apparent to me what @agent unawares mentioned almost at the start of this thread. The issue with the eyes is a bit of a pain. I've tried using @jcade's morphs with this specific shape, but while the eyelashes get corrected (meaning her cheeks don't eat them up when giving her an expression), the gap between the eye and the rest of the skin gets larger (which makes posing her face at an angle a big no-no).
Now, I haven't experimented nearly as much to say this is the case for everyone. Could be that I need to dial some things back or keep Sakura's face closer to the original. Not sure. But it's something to consider for people who are still on the fence about this character. That said, it's still a versatile and fun character. I also haven't yet bought @3dOutlaw's alternate eyes product. Perhaps the new update to his/her product could help deal with this problem. We shall see when I get the change to buy it and play with it.
Sorry to derail thread again, but mine must have been a combo of both because antibiotics have worked wonders! I had an upper respiratory infection on top of flu so it really helped! They were afraid they were going to hospitalize me because it excarcebated my asthma so badly and I was coughing up (ugh, you don't want to know what I was coughing up LOL) but the antibiotics are helping enormously! OK, back to Sakura! Will do another render soon!
@giselle3000 I think with jcade's morphs you have to use the standard G8F eyes, and not Sakura 8's geografted eyeballs/sockets (though I could be wrong, haven't tried them myself).

That was just your body's only immune system defeating the flu virus. Antibodies have no effect on a virus. And doctor wouldn't give you a flu vaccine if you were already suffering the flu. Still if your doctor prescribed them well maybe they where trying to protect your weakened body from bacterial infections without actually knowing that you had any. That is common. It used to be they gave you antibiotics with no known infection just visiting the dentist if you have mitral valve prolapse but they have stopped that because of overuse in the animal husbandry industry. Plenty of bacteria are harboured in meat, eggs, and dairy to protect against. And so on.
Guys there are respiratory bugs that need antibiotics.

Regarding the difference between a viral infection and bacterial is this: if your symptoms are everywhere, congestion, sore throats, headache, chest congestion, cough, chances are its viral. But if your symptoms are focused in one area, like in college, I kept getting strep throat, and all my problems were focused in my throat, no other symptoms. And in this case, it was all focused in my chest and coughing, which is why they were concerned about pneumonia and my asthma was really bad, bad breathing, coughing, but my nose was fine, my throat was fine, so more likely to be bacterial (possibly on top of an earlier cold which had cleared up) but my chest and breathing was getting worse and worse. The antiboitics are working like a charm. Already coughing up less gunk and don't have to use my inhalers as much, still have swollen glands though, but just two and a half days of antibiotics have made a huge difference. With upper respiratory infections, you can go downhill quickly and end up in the hospital with pneumonia (and get worse once in the hospital due to other germs!) so I'm so happy I can stay home, finish my antibiotics and get back to life!
And PS, I'm not sure why you are arguing with my top rated Cedar Sinai doctor...

Yeah, I'm bummed by that gap. Nothing I can't correct in postwork (I'm a magician with Photoshop), but I'm also stubborn. I want to correct it in DAZ somehow. Will have to keep working on that. Though now that @3dOutlaw mentioned in his thread that his product will allow me to better use Sakura 8 eyes with Gen3, I'm excited. I will purchase it soon and thanks @3dOutlaw for supporting G3!

Don't have the that morph set yet. But what free anime head? And thank you.. I have been trying for a more narrow face for the taller type of characters. I will probably share the skins when I finish them although I have no clue how to package them up. And thank you would love to have it. I have been working with Fuyu as well since I have a sinking suspicion we won't see a matching male. And need to see a Aiko 3 clone for her as well to fit the old anime stuff to her. :D
My main purchases on here are pretty much hair, morph sets , merchant resources and characters if I like them and pretty much in that order. The new figure didn't excite me and honestly I wish the Halloween theme that has dominated since October would go away. Sorry for the rant and off topic there.
Not a problem, and I understand. I just bought Owen 8 just to get Elijha and Kimo for free. Helped that I got the extra 30% off, which just made it impossible to pass up! You can find the Anime Head for Genesis 8 Female and Male shape by Tofusan here. It'll help with the nose a bunch. He/She also has a G3 version.
I'll check how to package the shape I made and share it. You will need RareStone's Face Morphs Collection for Genesis 8 Female and the anime head for it to look just like I have it, since I'm mixing all the morphs. I do recommend her (his? I never know) products. They are top notch and none have dissappointed me. I'm slowly gonna collect all the morphs she/he has launched!
FYI I don't know if he updated his copy of the male version, but there was an initial fairly major problem with eye adjustments to my male version that I have definitely corrected in this version: http://fav.me/dbvdjwo
So if you download that and your male eye close morphs are suddenly a bit wonky, you need the update.
Oh! Thank you for letting me know! I did download your version as well (and thanked you over at DA --though my username there is different)! I'll go and re-download it before I forget. Been meaning to try and do a male companion to the G3 version (Merc) I did before!
Thanks for that tip on the anime head. Nice to see they had something that fixed the issue with hair on Keiko as well . That bend was driving me crazy. Just like trying to fight sleeves in autofit. Really Really need to work on my modeling skills. Hair especially. went ahead and threw this on.. headache city lol.
And those aren't flu and may need antibodies, no one ever denied that, but that's not what was said to be the illness. A doctor needs to do cultures and viral tests to know what a patient has but they often misdiagnose or shotgun prescribe. They do it here too, prescribing medicines based on guesses because it's not economical or expediant to identify the pathogen of the illness. Last time I had a culture done was after a tick bite laid me up for 2 weeks with 104 degree fever freezing. The culture didn't identify the specific bacterial pathogen though. The doctor precribed a high grade antibiotic. Never for a seasonal flu. Never for a bacterial infection of the lungs or sinus, if I've ever had one at all.
I'm sorry, how does "horrible cough and asthma" and "upper respiratory infection" necessarily mean "flu"? What she had didn't sound like the flu at all.

Hahaha that makes sense. Her skin color get lost with the hair, so I wasn't sure. She looks like one of those old dolls. So she could be used both in cute renders and in horror renders!
On January 4th, Wonderland said she was in bed with the flu. On January 9th, she said she went to the doctor and was prescribed antibiotics she'd just started. Two days of antibiotics started clearing up something that had been lingering for around two weeks. From my experience, it sounds like Wonderland self-diagnosed herself with the flu, mentioned that, then went to the doctor after it didn't clear up for two weeks, and got a professional diagnosis and treatment that seems to be working. And now that this has been thoroughly investigated, let's talk more about anime figures.
I've also found lots of problems with the Sakura default eyes. I like the way they look but they simply don't move the way eyes are supposed to move. 3dOutlaw's eyes are much better in that regard (although they still don't work properly with the newish Look At Me script) but I haven't yet figured out how to make them look less... startling-- they're very vivid. Admittedly, I haven't played there much yet. I had to go off and sulk for a while after Owen was released (very pretty, not an anime boy). I did a whole bunch of research on anime character proportions (and of course they vary based on the show) and I've been thinking about how to construct my own anime boy. (Spearcarrier's morph is very nice but it's still on the female base I think? And I'd want the flexibility of a male base.) I've been wondering how much the RareStone G8M morph pack would be useful in constructing said counterpart. I always found Thorne morph packs useful in constructing 'Thorne' characters but while the Rarestone Morphs look fantastic (or maybe that's just the excellent promos?) I don't know if they'd be that useful in this case. Does anybody have any experience along those lines?
I would check out the Look At Me scripts for ya, but I don't have them. I would think the Simple Eyes that now comes with Sakura Eyes would work with any Point At scripts, since if follows G8F eyes, but I can't be sure.
Regarding the "startling"
...if you are rending with Iray, yes, they are too bright by default. When I render with iRAY, I change the diffuse color to a light grey (versus white) which tones down the bright white of the eye a little. I think it matches a little more for iRAY which can be a more realistic light. I've been trying to post tips like this (as I work with them) over in this thread, to not derail it here.
