Has anyone tried to make Sakura's eyes Smile in an Anime fashion?  Like..

I could work on a morph, but was hoping someone else already did it, or that I overlooked it, cause I am lazy cheeky

I think the Fuseling expression pack has that? And thanks for the tips! I haven't yet downloaded the update to your eyes so I'll check that out.

  • 3dOutlaw3dOutlaw Posts: 2,481

Found it.  Looks like it is a pack by Leo Lee, versus Fuseling.  I missed it when it came out, else I probably would've grabbed it!

  • Rarestone's pose/expression pack also contains extra morphs to pose the eyes like that.

    https://www.daz3d.com/japanese-anime-poses-for-sakura-8-and-genesis-8-female-s

  • Fortunately I have both. If I really like a character I tend to buy everything but perhaps poses for it. Although Keiko and Sakura are the only two since Aiko 3 I have done. that.
  • Thanks for that tip on the anime head. Nice to see they had something that fixed the issue with hair on Keiko as well .  That bend was driving me crazy.  Just like trying to fight sleeves in autofit.

You're welcome, and try using dforce on it. Might help with the sleeves. ;)

I had to do a double take, @Wonderland and still I'm unsure... is she missing a hand? Or did it get lost in her hair?

    Behind/inside her hair...wink

Hahaha that makes sense. Her skin color get lost with the hair, so I wasn't sure. She looks like one of those old dolls. So she could be used both in cute renders and in horror renders!

I am not sure it will help. Batlab did a great  miko outfit for Aiko3  and  I can kitbash most of it honestly from existing stuff. But the issue is the autofit. And the sleeves on that first test actually look like that  that is without textures.  And it is so random on the autofit. Sometimes the long flowing sleeves will actually attach to the hips >.<

Which outfit is that? I don't think I have it, but if it's cheap, might consider getting it and experimenting to see if dforce can help. I did try dforce with Princess Asia for Genesis and the sleeves somewhat settle (though you have to keep the arms away from the body, otherwise they explode). Here's some renders I shared. You can see that without dforce, the sleeves behave similar to the ones you are showing. With dforce applied, they settle more naturally. I added some explanation and more screenshots in my original post, which you can find in this thread here.

That's a cute skirt! Really like the movement you gave it!

Thanks, it was this outfit with different shaders: https://www.daz3d.com/goth-girl-outfit-for-genesis-3-female-s

Ok. First  thanks for the help.  That is actually a kitbash.

Kendo out for G3F why I keep hoping sugatak will do an archer outfit. He already has everything modeled but for the muneate( chest protector)

    Peony Kimono for G2F

    Misaki outfit for Kieko 6

V4Kimono and V4 Hakama.  I got this because  it has both types of hakama, the split and the normal.  But for the sleeves and the hakama , had the same posing issue, I could use this outfit in its entirety.  Then do some geoshell mods and textures.  Honestly I almost never use an outfit straight from the box so to speak.

I also have but can't get to work is an old Martial Arts outfit for G2F that I didn't realise was dynamic the old type.

@noshobawolf_f994bf986d I PM you with the results (so as not to derail this thread).

Back to Sakura. I went ahead and packaged the Shape Preset for the Gin (character I showed) which you can download here. It seems that I used more assets than I thought. So in order to get her exactly like I have her you'll need the following:

    Free Assets:

    • Diva Karli by Divamakeup
    • Sakura8 eye morphs by J cade
    • Anime Head by Tofusan
    • Sabby-Freebie04 by Sabby --> I think this was a freebie offered at Rendo during one of these past month. Couldn't find the link, though :( Sorry. This was dialed to 28% and it's what makes her face less chubby. Found the link. It was the November 2017 freebie over at rendo. :)

Okay I think this might work although I am going to have issues with Lyrra's V4 Hakama in posing.  Tended to explode in testing.

Remember to turn off self collision (found in the surface panel) and to have no pokethrough when posing.

Actually I don't think that is a collision issue there. I think it is warp in the mesh from turning the parameter limits off .

Aight... Anybody want to test this out and make sure I have this all working

2 morphs, both found under head>face>eyes>stylized edit: they are named Sakura Use Default eyes and Sakura Default Eyes Iris Oval

1st sticks the default eyes where they should be (I set it up all proper so it should be at a value of either 0, or 1 you shouldn't need to set it at any intermediary values it will automatically blend with however strong you have Sakura)

2nd morph makes the iris shape oval, its optional, but gives a better look. Set it at what strength looks good to you.

There is one other thing you will probably want to do, but that I cannot share so you'll have to do yourself:

To make the iris properly big you are going to need to set the limits of the iris size morph to something more than 100%

    • click the gear to the left of the morph slider
    • select "parameter settings" and set the max limit higher to something like 200
    • now you can set the slider higher, but wait! the iris still seems to stop growing at 100% what is this?
    • Iris Size is actually a controller morph that controls 2 secret hidden morphs rather than moving the mesh itself. We need to change the limits on a secret hidden morph as well; luckily this isn't actually hard, in fact its actually pretty much the same thing we just did.
    • make sure you have the normal Iris Size morph dialed in a bit (this will make it much easier to find the morph its secretly controlling)
    • In th top left of the parameters tab click the properties (triangle and 4 lines) and make sure "Show Hidden Properties" is on
    • in the top of where all the morphs are go to currently used, provided you don't have a bunch of other morphs applied you should quickly find a greyed out morph called PHMEyesIrisSize_pos (alternatively you can just search for this directly)
    • Do the same thing with the limits you did for the Iris size morph
    • since you only adjusted the positive max for the iris size you only need to change the positive secret morph the other one you don't need to worry about
    • go to file>save as>support asset>save modified asset so these changes will be saved to the figure and you can continue dialing bigger eyes going forwards.

Hiya, don't seem to be able to find the attached zip file. Any chance you could send it to me. I would like very much to use your anime eyes.

    Cheers mate

Thanks for the link.  The two other items you have mentioned will have to wait . Losing 9 days of work thanks to Charleston's lovely snow storm put a hit to my funds .

Ok something I have been kitbashing together. Thanks for the help giselle.   Been trying to put a Miko outfit together for awhile now since no one seems to want to model one up lol.

Problem is getting rid of the blasted shine. Not showing the normal matte , plastic etdc tags.  Have most of it together that will at least work for now til I can do the real textures for it.  Also need to fit from G2M the archery equipment plus try to model up a muneate.

I've spent hours trying to do a male version of Sakura. Here's one version, but I'm not 100% satisfied yet. I'll try again whenever I get a chance...
