It's not a problem at all. The renderer will elequently downgrade it's PBR support, although it really won't be needed as it will be just slower, not less capable. So then openCL 2.x is the current standard with backwards compatibility support for openCL 1.2 which is what my 2011 laptop has with intel HD Graphics 4000 GPU.
No support for openCL 1.0 or openCL 1.1 which only exist as a few almost impossible to get SW stacks only with no video card HW support from that era of openCL.
What is the name of the Ryzen CPUs with GPUs direct on die as that was one of the major reasons why I was not considering an AMD CPU.
..it's called Raven Ridge The model numbers are Ryzen 5 2400G and Ryzen 3 2200G. Both have an integrated version of AMD's Vega GPU.

where that's the case, then there is likely to be no support for a nvidia card either. At least one worth using.

3DL improvements that I would like to see....Why is it that iRay allows you to select CPU and GPU rendering so you can leverage both, but 3DL only allows CPU. Basically my dual AMDs are doing nothing in this MAC right now.

More custom parameters - load a camera always from the viewport view with movements locked, for example.
Load a new character in the center of the current viewport.
Load pose at zero XYZ.
Give us options to set defaults on things and I would be a lot happier.
I would really like to see built in morphable terrain, would be really cool not too forget even more 3DL options..

How else i got this info, Why are we waiting since then for such kind of stuff? The freemium only model means the dead of all this?
Then i prefer a paid version of software like Poser but with new & better tech, against the freemium version.
But that would probably means subscription in the days we life in today, what would be a totally no go!

Basically: There is (I think) only one thing a new (and new recompilation) of the SDK is required for - namely: 4k (and higher) monitor support. When I think how much that will break: "shudders".
Everything else (appears) to be doable in 4.x.
So why the hell do folks want to wait until 5.0 for it?
The only person sprading the DS5 = animation features rumour is you, despite repeated corrections.
The "freemium" model does mean the death of "all this" - the point was that the freemium model means that Daz doesn't have to make each major update an increase in the first number in order to justify an upgrade fee, since there are no upgrade fees - something else that has been said to you on many previous occasions. If DS was a paid-for application it would be well past version 5 by now, probably 8 or 9 I'd think by the major feature updates.
I don't care what the naming would be, if it's called studio 4.X it's good to. As long as there would be appear more goodies splitted in a free version or a more pro version, i really don't care.
as long as there is more for animators available the IK system is still broken in the soft momently and makes animation a waste of time without pre-made mocaps.
If the IK would be fixed in studio and combine with a good timeline, you have just another happy person. But not with the known shaky feet/hip problems...
i'd love it if DS could use dae and fbx or blend files ... i know they can import but obviously their bending and stuff does not work correctly.
Settings option to set the processor affinity on startup.
I do this manually every time I start up Studio through the taskmanager so I have at least 1 free core to browse the web and do other stuff while Studio is rendering (or running cloth sims ect ect), but it would be very nice to have this feature integrated.
I’d like it if Studio could manage memory better. Iray is a memory hog but lately its been crashing more due to running out of memory hours into a render.
Technically, all that's needed is to recompile against a QT5 version that supports 4k displays natively, that also still supports the QT functions used by DAZ Studio.
You can create a .bat file that uses the Windows start command to set the affinity. Here is an example that tells it to use only seven CPUs as represented by the bitmask 7F.
start /affinity 7F cmd /C "C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\DAZStudio.exe"
To calculate the bitmask open Windows calculator, set it to Programmer mode. Change the representation to Binary mode (Bin). Press the 1 button the number of times for the number of CPUs you want DAZ to use (so if you want it to use just three CPUs hit 1 three times and it will display 111). Change the representation to Hex without clearing the value. This is the bitmask to pass to the /affinity parameter.
Alternatively, instead of using affinity, you could pass in the /belownormal parameter.
start /belownormal cmd /C "C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\DAZStudio.exe"
This will allow DAZ Studio to use all the CPUs but if another process wants to use the CPU it will have higher priority and get the CPU time before handing it back to DAZ. Since when you browse the web most of the time your CPU is idle this is a way to maximise the capacity of your hardware.
Point1: No fflippin clue. I keep asking what this nirvana is, that is version 5; no response is usual, actually there has never been one that I have noticed.
Point 2: That must be because folks believe marketting hype (Windows 10 - which didn't have a version 9 - shudder).
If there are still Qt-earlier dependencies (functions that are not in Qt 5 or which behave in diffrent ways in Qt 5) then the recompile will fail. Once all the dependencies are removed I imagien it will be a recompile, but first the dependencies have to be found and removed without breaking the features that used them.
At this point, many of the functions are still available, but marked as deprecated, which means they may not be in later versions.
Look, I am having a hard time with posing. Nothing is wrong with it persay. It just takes me lots of time. I wish there were some basic pose things added for whatever Genesis 8 and up that help make the most of the new cloth features and simulations. Plus Posing is a big hurdle for lots of the images in the Gallery, not just mine. Some Basic at rest, Scifi-with gun, Sitting by the pool, Sitting in chair, lounging on couch, Standing relaxed and no killing the skirt, actually useful poses and expressions would be great. Some kind of basic Pose/Expression/Move starter kit so we don't look so much like amatures would be nice!!!!!

Yes. The problem with the usual starter packs is most of the poses are stuff that isn't basic enough to see much use in a picture. The legs go every which away sending shoes and skirts flying and such. Plus I wanted some very basic stuff you simulate cloth over when I upgrade from G3F. Just nice Standing poses with real comfortable looking arm poses. And I know people work really on pose packs but often there are only a few basic practical useful poses among them. Mostly I just want to show off a character or outfit, not run and jump and skip.
Basic poses for Genesis 3 and 8 is all I used here; had to tweak them a bit to get exactly what I was after, of course.
