Is it possible to PLEASE post a video of the whole process, from beginning to fitting the item on a G8F, so I can see if there's some basic step that I'm missing somewhere?
Will try to do a video this weekend. As far as your questions:
Your converted clothing should go into the output folder in the same naming structure as the input item, e.g., Genesis 3 Female/Clothing/Basic Wear/Shorts.duf becomes OUTPUT DIRECTORY/Basic Wear/Shorts.duf
Converted clothing, that you did NOT have to uncheck the Check Content Type checkbox should show up in Smart Content as well as just your regular library.
No, the converted items do not only work with Smart Content.
The manual states to click Cancel if you look in the last section
Clicking cancel appears to turn the entire script off.
Is there any chance of seeing a video soon? I strongly suspect that at least part of the problems I'm having are either due to my missing something in the basic process, especially since there are all these tabs and options that aren't explained, or having an unconventional drive set up (DS is on the F drive under DAZ LIbrary 2, the output directory I'm using is on the L drive and the only thing on the C drive is a placeholder in the documents folder.)
Thank you for reminding me! I quickly made a video. Hopefully it will be useful to you.
In my case, I didn't realize that "checked" and "selected" were different things until I had wasted some time trying to force convert some items and thinking the script didn't recognize them (I was being obtuse, but I think it's an easy mistake to make).
On other news, I finally managed to convert my Connect library! There are a lot of items that required a force conversion, and a few that loaded more than one item that didn't convert (like the aforementioned keyhole dress), but I only had real trouble (as in, the script throwing an error and crashing DS) with two products, both from RDNA and with some non-standard issues (the Snow Angel outfit threw a fit when the script tried to load the lamh presets and the Bast outfit didn't like at all having the "hide handles" option of the mask being called). Other than that, the beta version RiverSoftArt shared with people with problems with Connect really works as advertised and I am now the proud owner of a G8F library so vast I'll be utterly unable to justify any further shopping sprees. Maybe that should be the tagline for the product: "spend a little now and save your wallet later".
I still can't get this to work properly when using the Add Directory option, Everytime I get it to scan my whole Genesis 3 Clothing Folder it finds nothing. It just throws up the error No Clothing Items Found.
Tried resetting my database - Still finds nothing
Tried re-importing all metadata - Still finds nothing
Tried changing the output folders - Still finds nothing
Tried Stopping & Re-Staring CMS - Still finds nothing
So far the only way to get it to add anything is to un-check "Check Content Type When Adding Files" and add everything by using the Add Files option which as you might guess this is time comsuming

The official patch, which I hope is released within a couple days, should address the Add Directory issues.

That is awesome to hear. The official patch, which you are running, should be in everyone's hands within a couple days.
I just picked up this wonderful script, so a big thanks to RiverSoft for this product! I have not installed the patch and will wait for the offical patch update. I started testing the script on a few piceces of G3F clothing and here is what I have learned so far:
My content directory is on an external hard drive so my output directory was newly created on that drive. When I ran the script the output folders for the clothing were made but there were no clothing files in the folders. I then went and added the new directory path to the Content Manager (Edit | Preferences | Content tab | Content Directory Manager button | select/highlight DAZ Studio Formats then clicked Directory:ADD button). Once the new directory was added to the Content Manager I tried the clothing conversion script again and it worked. Perhaps this can be added to the instructions, assuming of course this is a correct procedure.
One problem I have noticed so far is that the converted clothing is not showing up in Smart Content. The converted clothing works with G8F but I must use Content Library | DAZ Studio Formats | My Library to find the converted clothing. Is this something the patch will fix or am I doing something wrong?
Interesting. All of my content is located in a separate external hard drive. Its converted over 600 items and put them where they should be. BUT, I don't use Smart Content at all, so I have no idea if it actually shows up there or not.

You are welcome! The adding the path to Content Manager is something I have discovered with another user. I am unsure if it is required but I will add a note in the manual.
As far as Smart Content, if the original clothing item had Smart Content, the converted clothing item should as well. So Rendo items will not show up but Daz items should.
Does anyone own the keyhole dress from here? It’s one of the Clothing items that won’t convert, the other items for it do just not the dress.
Yes, the dress doesn't seem to convert.
I don't have this dress. What is the log when you try and convert the dress?
14:13:26 GMT+0100 (GMT Summer Time): Selecting Preset: D:\Library\People\Genesis 3 Female\Clothing\Fisty and Darc\Keyhole Style\Keyhole Dress.duf
14:13:26 GMT+0100 (GMT Summer Time): Converting clothing from D:\Library\People\Genesis 3 Female\Clothing\Fisty and Darc\Keyhole Style\Keyhole Dress.duf to E:/_Converted Clothing/Fisty and Darc/Keyhole Style/Keyhole Dress.duf
14:13:27 GMT+0100 (GMT Summer Time): Preset loaded multiple objects. Aborting conversion for D:\Library\People\Genesis 3 Female\Clothing\Fisty and Darc\Keyhole Style\Keyhole Dress.duf
14:13:27 GMT+0100 (GMT Summer Time): Execution Complete.
On closer inspection of the dress I can see that it has a Keyhole Button. So strictly speaking it's probably an outfit rather then a dress.
Yeah, that is what the log is saying. Note that if you are comfortable saving clothing yourself and save it without the button, the script should be able to convert that.
Worked great, I parented the button from the dress and saved both separately and the dress converted so I just parented the button to the converted dress and saved as a set, thanks for the help guys, can’t wait for the male version
If you're like me and tend to use the Content Library more than you use Smart Content, I created a little blog entry that talks about a way to link a folder from your main library to the one where you're placing the converted files.

ok. I have been doing some directory conversions and I really like this update.
It's recognizing everything, still doesn't convert wardrobe presets (whole outfits because it's not supposed to) but it doesn't stop and throw up an error popup anymore either.
Very nice, super useful! I'm happily converting even MORE of my clothes (as you can guess... I have a lot!) edited for typo

Wonderful! I cannot even imagine how many clothes it is converting for you!
After all the trouble I had last week, I am happy to report that the new version of the script seems to be working flawlessly. Currently it's been running for a little over 2 hours and it's just started doing the full-body conversions, so I'm guessing that it has at least two hours still to go, but I can't even guess how long it would take to manually auto-fit and save all of this. Thanks for working so tirelessly on this amazing product. :)

Thank you for reminding me! I quickly made a video. Hopefully it will be useful to you.
You're welcome! Hopefully it is helpful.
Thank you. Excellent video. It confirmed that I am doing the standard conversion properly and was really useful for the force conversion section.
Great! I am glad it helped. How was it useful for the Force Conversion stuff? Maybe there is something more I should add to the manual?

Same here, only works with add files, finds no clothings when add directory is used, but I don't really want to convert everything.
It works very well with adding items and I can easily live with that.
Only problem I get is the raised shoulders and the poke through under the arms, but again, this is not too bad on most clothing.
For what I want it's a very useful product.
Thank you for your hard work :)
Would love to see a V4 to G8. hint...hint... ;)
The official patch, which I hope is released within a couple days, should address the Add Directory issues.
You're welcome. I would love a V4, or G2, to G8 too. Unfortunately, this process takes advantage that G3 and G8 are so similar.

Linking to Converted Clothing
I would have just put the information here, but the forum software didn't like me using Windows command line commands in my posts.

I am glad that worked out!
Thanks for the tip. I am sure that will help some people.
So it is very quiet in here... noone noticed the official patch is out?
Been too busy Will download and check it out tomorrow.
That's cool, thank you.
Haven't been home all day lol.
I hope you like it!
Let me know if it works better.
As soon as I get a chance to try it out I will.

I've had two Install Failed! errors for the update using DIM. Don't know why.
That is strange. I do not know why. Daz handles the installers. Perhaps uninstall completely?
