After all the trouble I had last week, I am happy to report that the new version of the script seems to be working flawlessly.  Currently it's been running for a little over 2 hours and it's just started doing the full-body conversions, so I'm guessing that it has at least two hours still to go, but I can't even guess how long it would take to manually auto-fit and save all of this.  Thanks for working so tirelessly on this amazing product. :)

That's wonderful.  That is how it is supposed to be smiley

  • Well it sounds like all the bugs are worked out, and it's still 30% off as of today, so in the cart it goes.

So I'm testing this new update. It works when I want to add individual files now which is awesome, but not for the whole folder "add directory".
For the whole folder I still get the message "No clothing files detected".

I'm gussing unchecking "Check content type when adding files" makes it work for individual files but not for folders?
    Am I missing something?

Edit: Ok I read the start post. Appenrtly it is supposed to be like that. Hopefully there will be another update soon.

Are you using the new update from Daz that came out 2 days ago?  The Add directory should work now.  I am going to pull the unofficial patch to avoid confusion.

Oh didn't see the update. It seems to work now. Amazing!

Thank you. Excellent video. It confirmed that I am doing the standard conversion properly and was really useful for the force conversion section.

Great!  I am glad it helped.  How was it useful for the Force Conversion stuff?  Maybe there is something more I should add to the manual?

Sorry it's taken so long to respond @RiverSoftArt, I've been away on holiday. On the Force Conversion stuff I was a little confused as to what to select. The video cleared it up for me. I've just used the update and rerun the conversion process. It's now picked up lots more items, including lots of accessories. It tends to miss the i13 Hoodie, perhaps because this is in a subfolder? I did a force conversion and it converted it nicely smiley

I really do love this script. I've now got a huge warddrobe of clothes for G8F. Really looking forward to getting the G8M version!

I'm glad.  It was a rocky start, but I am really happy with how everything is going now.

So I've converted all of my items now which took a few hours but it works!! So glad I gave this another try.

The only thing missing would be the materials for those clothes. Is there a safe way to copy those materials to the newly created clothing folders without losing the converted items?

If you use Smart Content, you don't need to copy them.  They will show up.  Otherwise, sorry, you just need to be careful.

I've got the script running right now on my main rendering rig, but I've come up with a question.  I run Studio on 2 computers with separate libraries.  When the script is finished, can I just copy the output folder over to my second machine and be good to go, or should I re-run the script on that machine?

If you want the Smart Content on your shiny, new converted items, you need to re-run.  If you don't use Smart Content, you can just copy it over.

I am definitely a fan of smart content, so a-re-running I wil go, thanks!  Any idea on if it would be possible to make a script that can take non-smart content stuff and apply smart content to it?  Like, if it's in a folder tree Genesis 8 Female > Clothing use that to apply the required meta-data to make it smart content?  I've tried to smart contentify my renderosity stuff a few times using tutorials online, but haven't had any luck.  I would happily pay for a script that can do it.

As a matter of interest, does the script create the new CMS entries as part of the original product for each item of clothing, part of a "Clothing Converter" product or as User Data?

The new items are part of Local User.

Wouldn't it work to export user data, copy the exported files to the second computer, and update metadata (selecting user data) on the second computer, rather than converting everything again?

--- And that is exactly why I asked that question (exporting the User Data and copying to the other computer)

That might work.  As I have never done it, I cannot verify it.

I am currently working on putting all of my shiny new converted clothing into my custom categories for G8F and once again realized exactly how much extra clothing I now have for G8F and just had to say thank you again for this awesome script.  I can't even express how happy I am to have clothing that can use all the morphs etc.

Also, for the not having materials in the content directory, you can do custom categories if its really important.  I have all of my content in custom categories so for me its just a matter of moving the materials over with the converted items so its all together. but even if you don't usually use custom categories, doing it for something like this might make your life a bit easier.

    Hi

I just tried converting an clothing item (worked great by the way) but should the new G8 version of the clothing show up in smart library or do I have to add that manually?

Then it must be something up with my Daz I would guess, I tried the Delta outfit:  https://www.daz3d.com/delta-outfit-for-genesis-3-female-s for example and it only shows up in local user folder with G8F selected after the conversion with Daz restarted.

Hmmm.  It will not show up in PRODUCTS Smart Content, only in FILES Smart Content.

Ahhh then I get it, so to get it to show up in Product Smart Content I need to manually editing the metadata?

For the product, yes, you will need to.
