...81° here today. Perfect for this time of year.

Gonna be nice tomorrow for the Hawthorne District Street Fair and Portland Adult Soap Box Derby (where people race really wacky gravity powered contraptions down the roads on Mount Tabor). Two of my favourite event's of the summer..

Yeah, I bought some horsie props stuff earlier.

Hmm. I'll wait 15 minutes longer to see if he stopped snoring.

The only time I snore is if I happen to sleep on my back. I can't sleep that way cause I can't breath. I always sleep on my side or stomach

I also sleep on my side, or three-fourths on my stomach; this is why the idea of wearing hearing protectors or earplugs is not exactly going to work well.

SO manages to snore even if he sleeps on his side. Mrgh.

They're great. In my case I can't get to sleep without music. I'm the one who snores, but CPAP solves that.

I have to have some kind of noise in the background for me to go to sleep. Whether it be a TV, music or fan. I gotta have one. On normal nights I have the TV and hte fan. Since my head injury I have to sleep with a fan on my face all night or I wake up nauseous. and wanting to spill my cookies. I'm still looking for that perfect pillow or pillow case that stays cold at all times

Okay, I just read thru their product descriptions, and I'm going HMM. I really don't need music. I just need something that mutes the sound without cooking my ears (I hate earplugs, they're like fat maggots stuffed into my ears and the way they amplify my breathing inside my head is awful) or pressing on them.

I think this calls for a dive into my cloth stash (which has more agreeable cloth than fleece) and digging out my sewing machine. Yess, yesss, I already see the plans in my mind!

Well, not right now, but later.

Darn, this was a great idea!

    Oh oh oh oh!

    I have one of those!

It is made out of memory foam, and it has some kind of gel layer between the cloth and stuffing, which stays reasonably cool!

This, combined with right sort of cotton pillowcase is really great!

They tried to sell me one of those when we bought our new bed but I wasn't paying $80 for a pillow

Trust me, it IS worth EVERY penny.

Plus I bought mine for 45 euros.

Gods you wouldn't BELIEVE how it feels nice.

Edit: As a matter of fact, it feels so nice that I'm going to check if they have mattresses made out of the same material, with the cooling gel. Because if they do, then I know what I want for Christmas.

I just found a top mattress (about 4 inches thick, which is thicker than our current one), about 350 euros, with cooling gel.

Welp. That solves this year's prezzies.

our memory foam mattress is about 14 inches thick. It's the best I've slept since my accident. I only wake up about 6 times a night from pain versus 15-19 times. I smoke a cigarette when i wake up cause it helps relax me to get back to sleep and there were many nights i smoked a pack of cigarettes.

Yeah, but we have a perfectly good box+spring combo under the top mattress (which is for keeping the bedsheet in place); I just need the COOLZ. :)

Edit: Also, yep, he stopped snoring. Gonna head to bed and turn the ceiling fan on, his opinions of the damn spinner be damned. (He doesn't like it as much as I do.)

This bacon is super-tasty, nothing crappy here. :)

Bacon is labor-intensive, though.. I'm sitting next to the fry pan and I get up every 2-3 minutes to turn it..

    But OMG TASTY!!! :cheese:

Alas, I have no oven, just a mid-size fry pan, so I chain-cook.. load w/ 5 strips, cook, and as one strip is done replace with a new one. About every 3rd strip gets eaten.. :red: :red:

I have to cut the bacon in half to fit in the pan, too. But it works! :cheese:
