    I built a short section of corridor TOS style to sit outside the Stateroom. It can only be shot from a few angles because of the open end on one side, but it feels more attached to a ship/starbase this way I think.

    Revisiting my Destroyer set corridors and actually building corridors as opposed to just having them attached to the Destroyer sets. I also tried to blend in more of a TOS feel so this is more like TOS Enhanced. I need to build doors, get some signage made, and I'm putting in the grav plating markings on the floor we saw in Enterprise Mirror Darkly. Going 2 routes with it too, regular lighting and materials emulating TOS and then another set that's a bit glossier and would fit more with Discovery. :)

    Then I went and built a CIC / Mission Ops for the Phase II/TMP era using some parts from my revamped Engineering set and built a new pool table. :)

  • Playing around with the Daz version of VP's Starship Bridge 14 to fit the Reliant-Class from STO. Most of the console textures are placeholders until I can design a proper layout (rather than just stealing a bunch of old ones from STO). Some kitbashing here, too, with VP's Sci-Fi sets for Daz and a couple of Sketchup models of consoles. The aft doors lead to offices for the captain and first officer (port and starboard respectively). The captain is a Caitian, so I kept the TNG beiges for a natural, but bright look. And, the first officer I'm thinking would be a Gorn who likes the 23rd-century Starfleet aesthetic. Naturally, he has a small basking area near the back with a rock to sit and relax on.

    Still doing some testing on the Stateroom before I even prep it for the masses, but work is continuing on other sets. Revisited my Throwback Corridor pieces and built up a full blown corridor set for it.



     

     

    And then I thought, why not set up the corridor for the Discovery aesthetic.



    I'm also re-visiting my Bridge of the Week or the Guest Bridge idea starting with a TOS version. Basically it's the Enterprise C bridge bones and I build the consoles and everything into it.

    No. Sorry, but I don't actually want to support this company nor its products. I made a figure for it to fit, and I could even conceive of making it fit Dawn or something. But to make it work with a DAZ product, you're on your own. We have beef with one another.

    I've just started a Kzin character morph for my Traveller Aslan figure.
    While the actual source is, of course, the Larry Niven Known Space stories (such as Ringworld), it'll also be Star Trek, thanks to The Animated Series.

    I'm not sure how long until I do the textures, etc for it, though, to finish it. And it doesn't look QUITE like the ones in TAS, since the animators weren't super-strict in their interpretation of Niven's writing (they appeared in TAS because Niven wrote the episode in which they appeared).

    The biggest difference is that TAS left out their rat-tails. (not the bad 80s hairstyle, actual tails)

    Well, in some shots.  Here's one when the Kzinti enter a large chamber of their stolen police vessel and one can clearly see a tail.  Now, whether or not the artists realized it was meant to be hairless is another matter.  Here it looks like it is "sleeved" in pressure suit material.  That exterior shot (and likely others) suffers from careless omission of elements.

    Just needs textures. (Currently just using procedural materials and the Traveller Aslan textures since it's an Aslan character)

    Very nice — I particularly like the pose and expression animation. Some of the voices were a bit hard to make out, though.

    I like to use the following headcanon:

    At some point, the Kzinti were in confict with the Klingon Empire. They found them worthy opponents.
    While klingon blood has been shown as normal blood-coloured on most occasions, when we see klingon blood in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, it's notoriously pepto-bismol pink.
    The one distinctive aspect of this one time Klingon blood looks this way is that the artificial gravity is turned off.
    We can then conclude that, for some reason, when Klingon blood is not under the influence of gravity, it turns this strange pink colour.
    Direct being-to-being battles in the Kzin-Klingon conflict took place almost entirelty in zero gee.
    Because the blood the Kzinti saw shed was all pepto-bismol pink, they decided that this blood of worthy warrior adversaries would make a terrifying shade to use as their signature colour, and so took on this colour for their uniforms to strike pink terror into their foes.

    I have no idea what brand the action figure I referenced is from, just that it's a First Contact one.

    PlayMates prett much had a corner on the Trek action figure market during the 90s.  But  "First Contact" was something of an oddity as the figures associated with that film were in a larger scale from the rest.

    Anyway, here's my attempt with your generous freebie.  I introduced some modifications like a woven wire mesh "sleeve" for his left arm and stuck some greeblies upon the right.  He's standing upon the alcove Matty Manx converted to Poser/DAZ use from an item offered at Foundation3D.

    On a different note, does anyone have a DazStudio-ready Vulcan shuttle like the one from ST:TMP?  The only one I could find in a Whatever3D search was one for Lightwave, which I can PROBABLY grab and convert, but then I figure I'd have to make a best-guess when trying to scale it for DS.  I'd rather have one already ready already for DS, perhaps even with hatches that open and close.

    Is that the one from TrekMeshes, made by Kenny Mitchell? I have that, although I haven't tried to convert it to D|S format yet. Doesn't look like it should be a major undertaking; I use PoseRay to convert .lwo and .3ds models, with a variable but usually fairly good success rate.

    Although that model is a bit scanty on details, especially on the underside. And as far as I know, there aren't any windows and we never got a look inside, so any interior details will be fan-speculation at best.

  • I mainly want to simply park it in a TOS shuttlebay, and then have a couple characters standing around in front of it as if they'd just gotten out of it.
