Thank you so much Plasma_ring!! Your tutorial is very helpfull
Thank You for this tutorial
I think you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned trying to out-think the instructions. I tried to be very clear and direct, but since this is not your ordinary "click and apply" product, it does get weird and easy to over think.

Thanks Nemesis10. I reapplied the base material and then I started adding back the skin textures. There were places where I could pick up the texture on the face. But I didn't see any on the body, so I loaded another figure and added my texture to it. Then I used it to copy the skin texture back where I needed it. That fixed it and saved my scene.
I can't seem to apply any skin textures to it, eveytime I try it put skin from materials folder on areas I want it puts it on areas I don't.
Thats where you will have to manually copy and paste them
Go to your surfaces tab, find the spot that has your skin texture and copy it, then paste it onto the surface you want it on.
I'm liking it, for the most part. I will have to make something to cover the mouth and jaw better for my latest male character, but that's how it goes. Not everything can be bought easily.
The other-figure method was how I got around the problem of using the No-Suit with hands and head uncovered (something my previous method had serious problems with).
I made sure to leave at least one MAT for each map available to copy and paste to any matching section you need
It's a very cool product and thanks to Plasma_Ring I finally managed to make it work.
Some suggestions for improvement if I may:
RawArt you may want to include detailed step by step illustrated instructions for future products, it would really help those of us who need to see something in order to understand it.
I'm also wondering if it would be possible to get a seamless version like the G3M No Suit was.
Finally, I don't if it is possible but it seems to me that different No Suit "zones" would allow fo make diffeernt superheroes.
For example if there was a part that went all the way down the nose horizonatlly and half jaw vertically one could make a better Batman cowl.
PS for Mac users: I noticed that when one tries to copy and paste the skin surfaces (such as the mouth) the Mac shortcuts do not work, you need to use the Daz copy & paste tools.
The shortcuts do work when you apply a shape to the whole figure, such as a muscular body.
I figured there are alot of iray shaders already out there which would make it easy to get versions without seams.
The zones on the no-suit are limited to the topology of the figure, so I tried to work best with what we have to work with.
I really know nothing about MAC's so I cannot really help there.
...and I dont understand what you mean how applying a shape will cause shortcuts to not work...what shortcuts do you mean?
Yes you are correct, other shaders make the seams go away.
I figured the No Suit zones might be limited by the G8 figures, good to have a confirmation.
I am talking about the Mac keyboard shortcuts for copy & paste, they work when it comes to apply morphs to the No Suit but not when you apply skin surfaces (use the Daz Copy & Paste tools).

hey would anybody know how to apply a pose to the synthoid suit without the shell forming another pose every time I apply my pose, the shell doesn’t change with it, it’s like the shell isn’t stuck to the suit
The shell will have the same pose as the item from which it derives - it isn't independently posable (or morphable).
Exactly as Richard says, there is no way the shell can move independant of the figure.
But just to be clear, you are talking about the synthoids and not the "no-suit" (which this thread is about). Because the no-suit has no shell on it at all.
My 1st attempt using this product last night. A little challeging at 1st. I'll be playing with it more in the future"
Nice!
Yeah...I know this is a bit of a complicated set. But I guess that happens when you try to make things in ways that the original base was not intended. Pushing the limits ;)
Yeah, luckly I'm willing to work at it. I'm going to try and do an old school Batman and Daredevil as well. Being able to do that was the main reason I baught this product. Getting good Batman and daredevil cowls has been challenging. There are a lot of freebies, but they all have problems IMO. Now if I can only get a good batman cape that drapes over his sholders and can be spread out for that glider effect. I'd also love some Batman Beyond Wings for G8M. My list of dream items is quite long. :-)
I'll let you know how they turn out and touch base if I need any help.
This was excellent. I've been using Daz for about 10 hours and without this step by step I wouldn't have been able to use the No Suit. Many thanks.
There is NO ReadMe file included with the product, at least not with my install via DAZ Central, or in the manual download zip files. Is that an error in the included download files, and a ReadMe actually exists? If so, how about linking it here or something please.
All I can say is "Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!" for your tutorial! I have no doubt you shortened my learning curve substantially with this.
There is a readme with the product...the product itself is also laid out step by step in your library...and I have posted instructions here (and several other thread)
I must not be clue-ing in to something. When I go to my product library and view the page for this product I'm not seeing instructions anywhere. Further, there is no ReadMe file of any type for it in my ReadMe folder, and when I do a manual download of the female product (I don't have the G8M version) and open the zip there is no instruction file (.pdf, .txt or anything else) anywhere in it. To be clear I am using the product and think it's pretty cool, but it's mostly thanks to plasma_ring's tutorial that I actually found it easy to use. If there is an official text instruction file I just want to have it to make sure I'm not missing any tips or tricks.
Thanks
So I think it's a problem with the G8F version of the product. I just bought the G8M NoSuit, and the PDF is there for it, but there's NOT an instruction file in the female product.
I'm seeing an issue with the G8F No Suit product that doesn't seem to be a problem with the G8M version. I can add HD morphs to the G8M NoSuit character (such as Vascularity HD) and they're fine, but the same morphs don't show on the G8F NoSuit.
Make sure the mesh resolution is set to High Resolution, not base
Of course, Should have checked that, thanks! Odd that the male NoSuit is High Res by default but the female is base.
To be honest..I do not know why it loads that way, I know way back when I made it it loaded at High Res *shrug*
I am running into a problem with the G8F version with respect to fingernails. I could be wrong but it looks like the NoSuit character doesn't have fingernails? I tried to work around this by trying both Belladona's Artificial Nails for G8F and Nikisatez's Nail System for G8F. These are improvements over having no nails at all, but the NoSuit nail beds are shaped differently, and poke through the fake nails around the cuticle on several fingers.
Any solutions to this, or have I made some correctable mistake?
Thanks
There should be geografts covering the fingertips and hiding the nails... Delete the geografts or hide them in the scene.
Yes...you have to delete the geografts on the hands. They are there specifically to hide the nails and make it look like gloves.
(Hiding them in the scene wont work....geografts leave holes in the mesh when hidden)
