Am I correct in my expectation that this works pretty much the same as any other posing method where it comes to saving, reopening or merging scenes, or scene subsets?

As in; set up the scene, pose the figure, save the scene, render, close Studio. Later on, launch Studio, open saved scene, and everything will be unchanged? Or; open new scene load figure, pose it, save scene. Open new scene, merge scene with posed figure, posed figure comes in still posed and can be moved into place?

Any ideas how one could animate with this product using G8, then convert to G3?

HI have purchased this product but cannot find how to use it .Could somebody please explain how to use it, i would like to pose a caracter and save pose to later convert to Victoria 7

  • Count me in for buying the G3 M & F versions as well. Now that I know a male version is coming and Taoz video making it clearer, I'll probably buy the G8 versions as well (though I don't use the G8F all that much).

  • I have purchased this product and spent some time fiddling with it. I think it's a very useful tool but still very limited. I hope that more dials will be added as addons. I do have a major complaint. I could be wrong but I don't see any means to easily reset the dials. If you save a scene the dials you have used will still be in the same settings. It would be nice an honestly expected to have a reset all dials button. That said I like how it works and wish for more dials such as sitting as another had mentioned, hands on same side hip, arms folded, as just a couple odd suggestions. Thanks for the work but don't leave us hanging.

There is one dial for each hand that allows you to curl the fingers as a group, I've been hoping someone would do that again, the last time that was rigged was for V4 with keygrip.

There has always been pose controls for the hands to affect the whole hand

Gradually?  There have always been hand poses, but I haven't seen anything that allows you to gradually curl all the fingers at the same time.  Where did you see that?  It's quite possible I missed something.

You did; it's there. Try looking in Power Pose

Thank you for that helpful video @Taoz. I was surprised to see one of her feet leave the ground, or even dip below ground, several times in the video. I thought that was not supposed to happen with this tool. Did I just assume incorrectly?

Yes, I noticed that too. I've been experimenting a bit and it looks like with some of these poses the figure must be in the default pose when you apply them, otherwise they don't work correctly.

I've redone the video, this time with the default pose as starting point whenever applying a pose, and that makes a big difference for some of them, no collisions or anything. I've also turned off IK as recommended though so far I haven't been able to see any difference whether it's been on or off. But that may depend on what you do, like mixing them with poses from other sets.

Thank you for this; although, I suspect that 3D Universe should be the ones really grateful; I've wishlisted bought it.

I just spent a few minutes playing with it and I love this product! It's lovely in combination with Power Pose as it is, but I would also buy addons for it in a heartbeat.

  • If you would like to see a review of this product. Check out Dreamlight's review.

This seems to be an awesome tool.

I know it can be done there but it is annoying to go thru the menu each time and besides then it would zero any pose you applied. I expected a one click that I could run in a script to be able to ONLY undo any poses adjusted with pose architect.

I'm a little confused about pose architect. Is it a serious of poses? Pose dials? Is it for merchants? Does the utility save a pose you create? Any information appreciated.

  • RAMWolffRAMWolff Posts: 10,256

I was just going to ask the same thing.  This would be useful to published artists for sure but don't know if it's a merchant resource.  Be nice if Steve were to pop in here and let us know!

I have the one for Gen 8 women and I love it. It's all dials for poses that you find in the parameter tab, and when you move it, the whole body moves to make a more balanced pose. I don't know about saving anything though, I haven't tried that. You can also use it to animate through key framing the dial as well!

It's not working for me. It keeps taking me to the DAZ splash page. Two other items on the top row of products also go to the splash page. I can't open it.

Check out this thread https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/307721/pose-architect/p1 which is for the G8F version of the same product.

As others have said, it is pose controls rather than poses.

  • melaniemelanie Posts: 795

I'm able to put it in my cart via the icon outside the product page, but it won't open into the product page. Is anyone else having that problem? My sister also can't open the product page.

Melanie, I too can't get the page to open. I'm going to try a little later this afternoon and hopefully the bugs are worked out.

I have the G8F version of the product and it's very useful for making your own poses.

I'm a little puzzled why it's available for both GBM & G8F, but for G3, only the male is accommodated. Honestly, I use G3F more than anything, and this looks like it would be very handy - but I'm left doing it all by hand, it seems. Will the G3M work for G3F, or will G8F work for her?

The male ones came out a bit after the female one. Not unreasonable to think there may be a G3F coming...
  • gitika1gitika1 Posts: 948

There was nothing in the promo image or really anything on the product page that made this jump out at me.  Taoz's video is what made me really check it out.

  • ChoppskiChoppski Posts: 527

I bought it. Some aspects I like, but you can tell it was made for a female figure  first. Some of the poses look extremly feminine--especially the way the hands move. In fact it bothers me that if you use an arm dial, the hands move (open or close) and you can't adjust them with other dials. It is like that pose dial dominates the others.  I'll play with it some more because I like the ability to pivot and move legs at the center of balance and all that, and the torso moves. but it's ability to work with other poses is iffy. You have to be very gentle in moving the dials or the pose gets really messed up. And from what I can see you run the script, then can save the pose. If you do that, and you have the gen3 to gen 8 pose converter (which goes both ways), the pose should work with both figures. It's really cool, but the jury is still out on how much I will use it.

I suspect so as well. Can't wait!

The bit about the feminine poses is disappointing to hear... just got it, but will make sure to try it out and see how they look.

As a user who primarily works with G3F, I hope we'll see that offered, as well - does the G8F or G3M possibly work with the G3F figure? Or is this because each of the figures' rigs are too different to create a universal PA?
