Cow!!!!

Somehow, the mind boggles at taking a horse and turning it into... a cow! It's not another human figure, so it's got to count as different, right? ;-)

Both the cow and calf are in my cart ;). Love animals and back in the day, Daz used to make a lot of them. I miss that. The animals we do have are getting mighty long in the tooth now. I'm loving the cow :).

The shaping looks really good - impressed someone managed to compress a horse into a bovine! I might wishlist it... maybe I'll wait to see if someone renders it in 3DL. The base is cute, too :-)
moo
I hear it comes with horns
Very nice, pity my budget is gone
Does it come with a morph to turn Bessie into Bob?
no bull
The big question is how it looks with Horse 2 mats applied. The big fault I see with this release is that the cow and calf share the exact same texture, which looks very unnatural when the two are placed side by side (though it does appear that the texture has been flipped from left to right in some shots.) If we can use Horse 2 textures with the horns and other bovine add-ons unaffected, of if there's an add-on texture pack coming, that will make these much more usuable.
Also, this may be nit-picky, but it seems rather strange to call Mahut a "shepherdess" given that she's being sold with cows. Cowherd would make more sense, although she's really rather small for the job, especially since she doesn't even come with a shepherd crook or staff. This girl is just asking to get trampled. :(
Now *this* is a bundle that I definitely want in my runtime. Deepsea is doing a great job of building morphs on the DAZ Horse2. His Old Deer was the first, I think, and I've been glad to have it. Partiularly since it took Hivewire until this month to finally turn loose their buck.
It would be nice if someone would pick up the baton and give us some more textures. But I suspect that might be a bit to ask for.
Wendy you are in form today Lol ;)
And she didn't steer you wrong, did she?
Oh great. Horny cows and no bull. That'll be trouble...
Some producers of ready made frozen dishes - like Lasagne - here in Europe did that trick some years ago already...
Only one texture? No morphs for some different races (Angus, Longhorn etc.)? Hopefully someone will do something about it... would be strange to see a herd of cows all looking thes same like sheep..
MAIK! LOL ... oh yeah good old times those were ..
Well, it's definitely more than just a horse of a different color...
Wow
I'm glad now I didn't succumb to temptation and pick up Tika yesterday. I am really tempted by the bundle, the cow and calf are great, Mahaut is downright cute and the barn's very nice.
I feel some rural scenes coming to mind.
Oh, and any chance of a goat or a new sheep while we're on the theme? I getting an inclination for some pastoral romanticism, and Mahaut will look just adorable in a greek toga.
Every piece in this bundle looks great. Making a cow/calf morph for Horse 2 is a brillant idea, the stable looks also excellent, and the girl is really cute!
I have to say that I was slightly sceptical upon seeing that the Cow was based on the Horse 2, but looking at the promo pics, this is a great model. I am especially pleased to see the poses included in the main bundle.
Socratease?
I want the cow and calf for cowboy renders but alas no more store credit left. Next month if it’s still on sale perhaps.
there is something horsey about the cow though that I can’t put my finger on. I still like it but something strikes me as slightly uncowlike. Think it’s the leg and the way the neck curves like a horse does.
I agree I saw it too, but I guess it can be remedied with posing

I bought the bundle because I really like the look of the cows. Initially it was very frustrating - the zip file for Mahaut was corrupted, so I had to download this using DIM which I really hate having to do. For some reason, the installation of the cow and calf didn't work properly - the horns and tails didn't install the first time, though that may have been an error on my part (just can't understand why part of the product installed). The most irritating thing about the product though is the folders that they install to. The Calf was installed under Animals/Daz Horse 2/Characters (which is logical), but the Cow was installed under Animals/Daz Horse 2/Characters/Deepsea. The poses for the cow and cals were not installed under Animals, but in a new folder - Animal/Daz Horse 2/Deepsea. I know it's not a lot of work to move them (which I have done), but it's irritating to have to move files around to avoid cluttering up my content directories.
Anyway, once installed correctly, I have to say that I am very pleased with the cows. They will use the Daz Horse 2 textures, but the udders on the cow also take on the colour of the horse texture for the abdomen, which can be a problem for lighter colours. The Linday Dark Knight textures look very good on the cow. A few test renders below:
Back when the 3DMark2001 benchmark was released, they had a 'cheat' mode where there were battle cows floating in the sky. This makes me want to strap a rocket launcher onto the new Daz cow...
Sharks with lasers, battle cows...
YES! I'm sooo excited for getting this! Thank you, thank you, thank you Deepsea! Excellent products!!!
