Made a quick baby gorilla by dialing in PedroFurtadoArts' Babyfication morph 2 and scaling back the head a little bit. Didn't even attemp to dial back the hair length to make it look younger as I haven't tried any strand hair editing. Trying to render with an adult gorilla was a no go on my old computer.
An orang-utan is great news (ook!), but will there be a female gorilla as well?
I was playing around with the gorilla too
just a quickie... no post work or anything.
I do romance covers which never feature gorillas. Werewolves, though... I used the gorilla and took out the morph, added in the Lucan morph, a little dog head, and a bit of Collosus. I need to work on him some though. Longer fur on the head, shorter on the arms.
Awesome, @Damsel - really shows how powerful it is when base figures are used (as opposed to stand-alone).

That fur is gorgeous! Are you also using the LAMH fur, Dragonfly? I'm hoping that first image you posted is the new hair, not LAMH. ( I'm terrible with LAMH ) If so, I'm going to finally make my horses with real winter coats!
That looks amazing. I'll have to experiment with that later on.
Really looking forward to getting my favorite primate, the Orangutan.
Even so, this guy's gonna be fun...
I used the dForce hair for the first images. I haven't used LAMH for a long time (LAMH as different from LAMH Catalyzer). The new dForce hair looks so much better than Catalyzer hair, and simulates well.
Really intriguing. I like it. Kinda looks like Gorillas left the Mist and are now modernized in DazLand.
Just making sure by "the one that came with DS" you mean the free LAMH Player. With the free player, you can use the LAMH hair/fur presets provided with a lot of products, (or one of the many free presets available on other sites.) So if you have the free player, you can use the new Gorilla in 4.10, just apply the LAMH preset after you've finalized the pose.
Quick test with backlight prop made in blender 2.8, daz Studio Iray and strand based hair...
'If you can see this, then you're too close!' - Comment from @sapat (thank you for that)
This you will work if you render in 3DL . but uif you want to render the LAMH hair ib iray you need Catayzer: https://www.daz3d.com/lamh-2-iray-catalyzer
You can export and create an obj and render with iray rather resource intensive but can be done.
Just a quick render I mixed in some Orc and some giant, and added a bit of SBH to the chest area.
Nice render scorpio!
OOOO..thank you for letting me know that! I've been dying to find a good one for doing a Librarian image.
Looks like the library in the UU, OOK. Fantastic image.
funny
funny and super backlight
No kidding, the very first thing that popped into my head was 'if you can see this, then you're too close!'
Very cute render :)
very good - if you don't mind - i will add this statement to the picture... thank you
Is there a trick to getting his hair to render? It's in the scene, but I only get his base textures. I have Daz 4.11 but nada.
If you haven't generated the fur & only working with the green Rman guides, the iRay preview won't work. Switch to 3Delight mode & render.
And since I'm here...
This is YOUR art????? Who are you??? Where can I see more of your work??
If I did work like this, I will put it everywhere!!! Love, Love, Love!!!!
Really amazing. Would also like to know more about the art from Zai.
That's funny, I really like it.
I remember long, long ago, late 80s or early 90s I think, there was an image in one of the National Geographics i bought, just for the articles, that had an infinite number of monkeys in a huge library doing things. Unfortunately I can't remember the issue though.
I couldn't put the Gorilla in my cart fast enough: an animal from AM at DO prices, and with dForce hair? Wow.
But I didn't really have anything in mind for him, so I didn't try to use him until today. And for whatever reason, the dForce hair won't show up. Not in the viewport with settings that should allow me to see it. And not in the render, either.
I get the same results with the dForce Daz House Cat, and the included dForce Mohawks for G8 male and female.
Is it just me?
(I should mention, I'm not having any trouble with the dForce Hair in the 4.12 Beta. I like to keep the latest beta and the previous release installed, so I won't be updated the release until 4.13 beta comes out.)
Well, to answer my own question, it was just me.
Actually, it can happen to any of us, and it's a really easy fix. In my case, I happened to have the Geometry Editor Tool selected from a previous action in the scene. Apparently, this may also happen if you have the Node Weight Brush Tool active as well.
I'm going to add a sticky note to the side of my monitor to switch to the Universal Tool any time something appears to be wonky, with dForce Hair or anything else! (Couldn't hurt, right?)
So to recap, (to make this solution easy to find in a search,) if your dForce Hair won't render, make the Universal Tool active!
And a great big "Thank you!" to @Kismet2012 for sharing that solution with me.
