    Speaking of animals for birth years, here's a deer and a dog. Don't know if they are included on the list of animals. If so, I may enter this but need to know if it would qualify, so for now it is a NAE.

    1930s Farmer needs to feed his family, since the cotton mill has closed down. Times are tough as the great depression, that just started last year, starts to take off.

    I think it qualifies - there is a Year of the Dog in the cycle...

    Dog is one of the 12 animals in the Chinese Zodiac so it does qualify.

    Judging by the state of the car, I guess he shot it. That car would be a heap of rusty junk on the ground if it had run into anything even remotely solid.. :roll:

    But you're probably right. And it should at least have some blood or tufts of fur on the bumper.

    I don't know...cars back then were built like tanks! Even in the 60s they were still built like tanks. These days, if you hit a bird playing chicken with cars (I have seen this often) you have a dent.

    I think he hit it with his car, then shot it to make sure it was dead.

    You'ze guyz are tooo crazy. Who ever said the deer was dead? He is just basking in the sun?...taking a nap?....how about just being lazy?...no?....OK! HE'S DEAD! I did however keep the blood out of the scene...too gorey.

    I may have to add some stuff to the render to get up ten freebies. The car is a paid for. Gotta find that deer again but the dog is the free LE version, so that's a start. Wish me luck!

    My entry:

    Posed and Rendered in DAZ Studio 4.6, Dynamic robe and dress styled in Poser Pro 2010 using the clothroom. Headdress created using Hexagon and Carrara. Some textures for the scene were created in Filterforge. Some in Painteshop Pro. Postwork consists of adding signature. Thank you Kismet for such a fun challenge. I love Chinese Opera characters and you have given me the opportunity to incorporate that into my render. I call her Wang Chao-chun. She was a concubine, who was traded by the emperor to a barbarian king to keep the peace. She is said to be so beautiful that the emperor wanted to renege on the deal but his advisors won the day and she was given to the king. So with that I give you:

    Thanks jeeperz. So I have been toying around with what to do with your suggestion. I think I will make an entry gift of the headdress for the April challenge. I have some things that I need to get done so this month and next are booked. I would want to make a Poser set as well and I am kinda a beginner when it comes to poser. So April is a good target for me. If I get it done earlier I will let the host of that month know that it is available to give out. How does that sound?

    I give up on finding the freebies. I spent hours trying to find some of them and the shotgun is discontinued after looking forever for it. The deer is lost forever...lol. I tell you, the only way to do this thing is to go find the freebies FIRST, then do your entry, or have tons of freebies favorited. Just too much time to go find them. Besides I think I have more than three paid fors in it.

    So...it remains a NAE. Still had fun making it.

    If you're using DS then you have an Ace... The CMS. You can put the link to the freebie in the database. Just note the URL and after installing, navigate to the item in the Content Library. Select the item, open the bottom "information" pane and on the "TAGS" tab is a Notes area. Put your link there.

    We put keywords like "Freebie" in the keywords area, and the date of download, License Restrictions, and the URL in the Notes area.

    Couldn't be easier.
