    'What is your biggest weakness?"
I stole tjohns idea, but my answer is pretty much the same as yours I think. My body. If I was visiting my Doc today I would have to report my pain is at a full blown 10 out of 10. That's pretty rare even for me. I think most days I run about a 6. Today its in my shoulders, my knees and and hands in a big way. My hands are so bad that others can hear them crack if I do a full flex of them. All I can say is TG for meds and the fact a mouse fits the natural shape my right hand prefers.

But as far as admitting a weakness and still getting hired for a job, hmm... Think it would be this... "I'm lazy, I prefer to work smarter and not harder. If I can think of a way to do a job easier and faster and do it right I will." If I remember Right I ended up running 5 different stores for them before my health sidelined me.

So not fair to have so much pain in your life. I use a transdermal patch called Norspan to keep my synaethesia under control, I know that is used to mitigate the effects of chronic pain as well here, the active ingredient is Buprenorphine

    ...no prob.

    Caturday Complaint:

Went to pay my internet bill online today. Expecting the usual 50 - 52$ statement.

Was shocked when I saw a balance for 85$.

The price I originally signed up at (39.95) was only good for 6 months I knew and understood that. However, when I asked them back then they told me it would go to the standard rate of 49$ (+7$/mo for the modem) afterwards. Well 56$ is certainly not 85$ What happened is that they offered me a bonus of several free months of premium level service at "no charge" with some apparent enhancement called 'Blast" (which I guess is for streaming films). Well apparently when those special bonuses ran their course they never removed them from my account, so for the last month I was being billed for the full premium service charge. I may have scraped up enough to keep things going for a little longer but not for an internet bill that was nearly twice what I expected to pay. So I immediately went to their support page and started a chat with one of their reps to get some clarification.

Indeed that was what happened they assumed I still wanted these extra services and never took them off from my account after they ran their course.

Well, first I got them to drop me back to the service level I originally signed up form but that wasn't the end of it yet, for I was told I would still be assessed the 85$ for January. After a bit of haggling, mentioning that I am unemployed and that if I have received an email or message prior to the end of last month that my bill as going to jump that dramatically I would have cancelled all the premium services then. I even mentioned that the difference was almost enough to buy groceries with for a week (that may have finally done it)

OK fine so Not only am I back to the original rate I was told had t pay when I first signed up, but was told that my balance for January was adjusted down to 46$ as well. "Cool," I thought "this person really went above and beyond for me" so I gave her very high marks on the post session survey.

Well it get's better (or worse depending on your frame of reference). later, I sign back into my account to pay the 46$ and lo and behold, not only is the 85$ balance still showing, Now my account indicated I also have television service. Huh? I don't even have a tell, why would I want television service?. So back to support I go, getting a different rep as epected. I explain the whole thing over including what transpired in the last session but this time the conditions were changed. Yes, I would be billed from this day forward at the lower rate but as told again I had to pay the 85$ for January. I again mentioned what I told the last person but this time was instructed to call their service centre. I mentioned that was not good enough, and I wanted the deal the last person promised me. ore haggling until he finally relented and at least dropped the charges to the lower service rate for the past month and after a few moments mentioned he could remove the charges for the modem rental (which the previous operator gave me a link to a service update that mentioned they were discontinuing modem service fees completely making it a free service). So at least I knocked off 35$ from my January bill (the extra 5$ would have been nicer but hey, I still come out better)

Th only other annoying thing was It took me asking five times to have the television service removed before he confirmed that would be done, saying I didn't want to see charges show up for something I don't even use).

Crikey, I need a beer (but only have Ice Tea and Orange Juice in the fridge)

The one thing about chronic pain is your body adjusts to it. When it becomes a normal part of your everyday life it sort of fades to the background noise level. It's the days that we have a BLOOM, as they call it, as I have today that are hard to deal with. My rheumatologist Dr Allon wishes to move me up to the Cotion type drugs from the codien based drugs. I am the one refusing to do so. Unless I have a Bloom my meds deal well enough for me to function at this time. I see no reason to go on harder stuff that I would only need from time to time. Besides its much harder to gauge the OD level of those OXY type drugs from what I understand. I know the safe limits on my current meds. Then the Issue of my Kidney Function must also be addressed, Codein is a known to be safe for renal patience drug. The other stuff might cause me to need to go back on Dailysis sooner or even at the start for all I know. I can live with some pain and the freedom I now have much better than having to be tied to a Dialysis chair three days a week again. I will be back in the chair at some point in the future anyway, I just wish to keep that day as far in my future as I can. If I can manage it I hope to be ready for Home treatment by the time I require Dialysis treatments again.

I'm a very beat up person, but I am alive. I will not go down easy and to me everyday is a gift. The pain just tells me I'm still alive and to get over myself and make the best of the day. Which I try, but often forget. Not today, today I'm enjoying my Admin thing, Reading some great posts by others and playing in DAZ Studio in the background. Later I will have a good book to poke my nose into and a nice dinner to eat. Life may hurt sometimes but it will not stop me as I refuse to let it do so. Now Who needs a fresh cup of coffee? I just brewed some, and Kyoto Kid I just put the beer on to chill. Give it a hour or so and I'll join you in tipping one to life with you.

One of the cab drivers I get regularly had her foot amputated and re-attached. Twice. Irrevocable nerve damage means she is in constant pain but nevertheless uses the foot to accelerate, brake and so on. No meds :)

We got another coating of snow today. I haven't stepped out the front door since Wednesday. I'm looking at Monday the earliest I'll do that. I have to bring my mom to an eye doctor appointment. I don't want her to catch this, though. They're saying we might get a little more snow on Monday, too. :shut:

At least it isn't Urban Sprawl 3 that was released. I'd have to go sell plasma then.

Overdubbed for some releases with american english and japanese I think, caused a sensation here but makes a lot of commercial sense. The pictures aren't tho, that really is how it looks just out of town here :)

Mostly a terrible time for music. If you want to call it that. Come on...A Flock of Seagulls? Anyone? Anyone? Beuller? Duran Duran was arguable the best of the bunch, and even they were only tolerable in small amounts. Then it all went downhill from there. Rap. That's not music. It's someone talking with a backtrack of bass drum. The best I could stand of rap was the actual true beginning...J Geils Band, Must Have Got Lost...the live version with the green teeth. (although I think there might be an earlier sample of rap from around the 60s, but I'm not sure). That's all it is, talking. With ridiculous bass behind it. Fortunately we were rescued by the likes of Kenny Wayne Shephard. Ahh, thanks to this, I'm listening to his band right now doing Voodoo Child live. First time I heard Kenny, it was Deja Voodoo. I thought it was something unreleased by Stevie Ray Vaughn. I still can't believe he was playing like that at only 17!

    OK, I'll shut up now.
